New Stadium will have a grass field per Mort
SirAndrew replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall
I’ve never found Mort’s NFL info to be very useful. His “scoops” are typically second hand information he claims as his own. -
Do you want Daboll to leave for a HC job?
SirAndrew replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
I prefer continuity. Daboll has done a great job, regardless of occasional frustration with his play calling. I’m also not able to fully assess how I feel until the postseason concludes. Daboll brings great schemes, and gave us a complex modern passing game. His Achilles heel has always been outsmarting himself. My greatest concern for today’s game is Daboll going ground and pound because of the weather. I’ll be fully in favor of him taking a head coaching position if he goes that route. Daboll is in a great spot. He’s not getting fired, and likely has head coaching opportunities. He wins either way. I never hope for a guy to get fired, but if our offense sputters in the postseason with Daboll getting too cute, I’d be thrilled to see him take a head coaching position. -
The years of 30K crowds seems like a long time ago. Throughout the drought era 2010’s, we had great success selling tickets. I’m not a big homer, I’m willing to see flaws in things. We don’t always need to say we’re the best at everything, but it’s not a lie to say the Red Sox rule Boston. Football is a secondary fanhood for most New England folks. It just took on more meaning when the Pats became winners. Buffalo people live for this team. I’m not holding it against Buffalo folks for not showing up during some bleak years in the 70’s, or a playoff game in the 90’s. This entire region is glued to the television on gameday, Boston is nothing like that.

Being you’re an Adams, I don’t trust you aren’t a Pats fan. I’d think John Adams would go for the Pats, being a Boston guy and all. 😆

I already question how many people in the “it’s only a little cold weather” crowd are actually attending this game. Always seems with everything in life that people who are actually doing something, do less talking about it.
-
It’s probably too cold for Pats fans as well. Northeastern folks are nothing like Midwesterners when it comes to this stuff.

Yeah, I get tested regularly, and I wouldn’t want to make any purchase to a future event right now. I’m not wanting to go down the road of that world event, but I’m just saying there’s many factors that will hurt attendance right now. Fans are back in the stadium, but there’s still plenty of potential hurdles to attending a game.

They’re not losing because of being soft. They’re playing like an average team because Mac Jones is an average QB. New England people aren’t willing to admit this because they insist on Jones being the second coming of Brady.

I know it’s tough to get a head coaching job when you don’t look like Ryan Gosling these days, but Leslie Frazier really deserves a chance. His game plans often make these young QB’s look bad. That tells me he’s a good coach. -

The Allen run was the easiest looking 30 yards I’ve ever seen. -

He thinks he’s at BYU about to make a crazy play against Utah State. I’ll never quit saying how identical he looks to Johnny Manziel in the pros. -

Wilson is a no mind. He runs backwards constantly. -

Nice play by Edmunds, shocked they didn’t throw a flag with his back turned, even though it wasn’t a penalty. -

We’re very fortunate we have a D that can show up like this. -

Josh is one of the most talented QB’s in the league, but he seems to go through these streaks more often than other top QB’s. I put a lot of it on coaching. When your QB misses a bunch of passes in a row, give him an easy throw. It’s time to call more runs, screen passes, or other short routes. Get his head back in the game. -

Yeah, he’s had several opportunities that would have been very difficult catches. I can’t blame him for not making the plays, but he’s seemed almost unaware of where he is on the field. -

Davis has been hot garbage today. -

I totally agree, but the pass isn’t working at all right now. We can’t run the ball well, but mixing it in isn’t going to hurt, when we’re just throwing incompletions one after another. -

Yeah, Diggs has been a phenomenal connection today, but Davis has been a train wreck. -

We desperately need to reestablish the run game, but our run game was basically a couple good Singletary runs before reverting to one yard gains.
