I don’t know if the Deion gimmick is going to work as well in a power five conference. I think Deion coaching at a small HBCU school had a special allure, and he marketed it as an altruistic endeavor. If he starts out slowly, he’s not going to be able to promise recruits the moon, and his shtick will grow old real fast.

Josh’s running is crucial to our success, and I don’t think we can afford to eliminate that part of his game this season. I do agree that we need to build a team and game plan in the near future that doesn’t rely so heavily on Allen’s running. I think people are looking at the risks in the wrong way. We keep hearing how easy it is to get injured in the pocket, and all the ways season ending injuries occur. I’m not concerned about season ending injuries as much as cumulative damage over years. Cumulative damage is exactly what shortens running back careers. That type of damage doesn’t necessary result in diagnosable injury, but rather wear and tear that reduces a players effectiveness.

A touchdown would be huge here. I don’t see Mac and cheese coming back. -

It’s amazing that Diggs is able to get open so often when everyone knows where the ball is going. He really isn’t given enough credit for his dominance. It reminds me of some of the all time greats in their prime. -

I don’t care about the Covid stuff. It was a unique moment for the entire planet, and people are entitled to options. The issue with Bease is that it extends past that topic. He has a lot to say, between his Twitter account, and inability to filter himself, the possibility for controversy is always there. I don’t think any NFL team would want him at this point. The possibility for major distractions, and needing to release him to save face is always there. A 30 something slot receiver isn’t worth it. -
I don’t disagree, but I see the O line as the biggest issue, not necessary the skill positions. We could be better, but there isn’t a lot of depth in the modern NFL. Who are these teams with unequivocally more talent at skill positions. I ask as a serious thought to ponder. Maybe it’s just the phrasing that I struggle with. I think we have the talent, but not the consistency. Davis and Knox need to produce more consistently. Teams with lesser talent but more consistent WR2’s and TE’s do have an advantage.
-
True, but I think JP Losman seems preferable to Matt Ryan at this point.

Pickett obviously has time to improve, but he doesn’t look like a guy who processes the NFL game well. Bad sign for your QB of the future.
-
He’s been much better than I realized. It’s likely my bias against the Eagles, but for some reason I envision Allen and Mahomes playing at a high level five years from now. I’d be surprised to see Hurts doing the same, yet I have no idea why I feel that way. It could be the Eagles franchise history of extreme ups and downs, or maybe Hurts strange career at Bama.
-
Yeah, Hurts has been very good. He deserves a lot of credit, but I just can’t imagine him being this good without the perfect set of circumstances. I view Mahomes and Allen as once in a lifetime players who can carry a franchise, while Hurts is a major contributor to a very good football team. I don’t mean to take anything away from Hurts, I just think he’s somewhere in the second tier of greatness. People forget that football is the ultimate team game, and QB’s need help too.
