  1. Nice drive by Cincy, but that TE screen on third down is an awful call against Bama. They’re not going to steal this game by playing cautiously.
  2. No, the on field product with this type of leagues is just too weak for me. I know some people love it, because it gives an off season football fix, but I just can’t follow. D1 football always seems better quality than pro football leagues. The original USFL might be the only exception.
  3. I see a lot of people are disappointed by the mediocrity of the players on this list. There’s actually a lot of incredible players on the ballot. It’s just really difficult to separate them from one another. I think the emphasis on the QB position in the modern game has a lot to do with it. We probably aren’t going to see guys like LT, or the 85 Bears defense. Those teams and players were legendary because they often carried their team to victory. In the modern pass happy NFL all credit goes to the QB, and it doesn’t seem like guys playing other positions carry their teams as often. I think of guys like Dwight Freeney, an incredible player, but the Colts success became solely a Manning thing in the memory of fans. Think of all the HOF’ers Brady has played with. The QB is such a big deal, it over shadows everyone else, giving us the illusion the ballot is filled with mediocre players.
  4. Most of this information comes from the census. Your 63% doesn’t mean that 37% of the Firebaugh population is non Hispanic. Those of Hispanic heritage are often also counted as white on the census. The town could still be over 90% Hispanic, even with your number.
  5. Like Trevor Lawrence 😂 Yeah, I know, the Jags are awful, and Meyer was a joke. I’m just making the point that I’m not certain sure things exist, but NFL teams keep fooling themselves into believing so. Allen had all the physical tools, but I didn’t believe either. It’s hard to overcome the small school bias. There’s no telling how good someone is when they don’t face high end competition. It is unfair to guys like Allen though.
  6. Yeah, Tua consistently leading the Fish to 9-8 seasons is the best case scenario for us. Mediocrity would allow Tua to stick around, while the Fish continue to be a minimal threat. Now that we have our QB, it’s fun to think of other teams that way.
  7. You also have to assume that a small receiver might start breaking down very quickly at 33 years old. I’ve loved what Beasley has done with us, but he’s not a guy I envision playing into his late 30’s. Paying him could be a mistake based solely on that.
  8. I don’t disagree with the Wilson to Giants possibility, but I don’t think it’d be the best spot for him. I wouldn’t want anything to do with that dumpster fire franchise, at least not until Judge is gone as coach. Playing in NY suddenly becomes a much lesser stage when the Giants are losing.
  9. We learned he’s definitely not elite.
  10. Josh is playing David Carr’s o line and doing incredible things. Take it all in while we have the luxury.
  11. Once again Josh is carrying us with an all world performance. It’s still very concerning that our offensive line gets pushed off the ball on consecutive fourth and ones.
  12. Guess we just need third and long red zone situations to cash in. That was perfection.
  13. I don’t like going for it when our offense stinks in those short yardage spots. Take the points.
  14. Yeah, I’ll still question how much talent we have on the line. I don’t think it’s much, but I also question coaching because it feels like they’ve all regressed. I see regression and guys failing to develop into quality starters after we draft them. That’s typically indicative of coaching.
  15. I think coaching plays a huge role, but it’s not like our o line is filled with first round draft picks, or high end free agents either. Who’s to say the Colts backups aren’t just as talented as our o line. You can’t really judge talent solely based on draft position. I haven’t seen much out of our guys, but I agree the coaching and scheme doesn’t seem particularly solid either.
  16. Time for make up calls galore now.
  17. I was looking forward to football tonight, but this is why I mostly watch for Buffalo. I’d rather do anything other than watching the refs make it all about them again.
  18. Covid hasn’t made this season any less enjoyable for me. We knew this issue before the season, and guys always miss football games. It’s not ideal, and more guys are missing games than a typical season, but you always have to find ways to win when guys are out. This season is no different. If anything has taken away some enjoyment, it’s been seeing some of our flaws. We can take this division, but anything less would be disappointing when we’re easily the most talented team in the division with the best QB.
  19. Yeah, I don’t get everyone calling this a Covid safety net move. That makes sense, but you should be equally worried about Bass in that case. This might partially be a Covid move, but I think it has more to do with Haack’s performance.
  20. Samuel is an incredible mix of speed and power.
  21. Dumb play call up seven against a team that can’t move the ball. The receiver always wants to throw at any cost. That’s why I’m not running that play in this spot.
  22. Jimmy G costs the 49ers a Super Bowl win, followed by a bad 2020 season. Fast forward to 2021, and the team carries their QB to moderate success. Somewhere in between the franchise traded picks to draft another QB, yet they won’t see what he’s got over their failed starter. I’m very confused with the 49er’s long term plans.
  23. I think it’s time to put in Trey Lance. If Shanahan thinks he’s that much worse than Jimmy G, they should just trade him.
  24. I think they have some guys, but it’s mostly Tannehill who’s lost without Henry. Tannehill is who he’s always been, Henry made him look like an NFL starter. Strange game, we’re watching two really good teams, with really bad QB’s.
