Zay Jones to Jags for 3 years up to $30M with $24M base
SirAndrew replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Zay looked like an average receiver with the Raiders. That’s a huge accomplishment considering his time in Buffalo. I wish him nothing but the best, but it’s frustrating he didn’t seem to take being a pro seriously in Buffalo. There’d definitely be a place for him with Josh. I wouldn’t ever sign the guy, but it’s a shame he couldn’t get it together here. -
I like giving everything a chance to work out. If I’m being honest, I’d rather sign a big impact guy over spending money on guys like Saffold and McKissic. We’re impact guys away from winning the Super Bowl, not role players. Beane is all about team building, and it’s a necessity to build depth through free agency, but I’d go with a cheaper rookie with a similar skill set over someone like McKissic imo.

Feliciano to the Giants - Will play center
SirAndrew replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree, I’ve been wrong about a lot of coaches too. I hope Daboll does well, but the Giants have some major roster issues. They need a total rebuild, and I don’t think anyone gets enough time in NY to survive a rebuild. The Giants don’t have an unproven roster. They just have a bunch of guys who didn’t live up to their potential, or are always injured. That’s not even taking the huge question mark at QB position into consideration. It’s going to be very difficult to succeed in NY. I don’t blame Daboll for taking the job, he’ll get a nice paycheck, but it’s an uphill climb. -

The Giants will continue to be a mess if this is a sign of things to come. Luckily their fans aren’t bright enough to know any better. They’ll have tons of hope though. -
That ruined my future April Fools Day post.

Breaking: Tom Brady will play this year with Tampa
SirAndrew replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
Brady benefited greatly from going to a Bucs team with a loaded offense. That offense is going to be without many of the pieces that helped Brady win a title. They’ve lost key guys recently, and field an offensive line without a lot of experience together. That isn’t what I’d want if I’m Brady. He’s always proven everyone wrong, so I’m not ready to predict a sharp decline, but it seems possible in 2022. -
Josh does seem like a regular guy you wouldn’t mind having a beer with. The majority of elite QB’s over the past few decades seem to be the opposite of the average Joe. Stafford is another guy who seems down to earth, but there are a lot of prima donnas.

Raiders getting calls from multiple teams for Derek Carr
SirAndrew replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t know why the Raiders would trade him, I also don’t know why anyone would want to trade for him. -
I think much of this wouldn’t be said if Kingsbury had any control of his locker room, or the respect of players. He seems lost as an NFL coach.

Kareem Hunt: Cut candidate. Possible 2022 Bill?
SirAndrew replied to filthymcnasty08's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree, it wouldn’t be much of a distraction. I reference “baggage” because it does exist. It doesn’t matter if the “mistake” was handled years ago, by definition baggage is always in the past. The current front office doesn’t typically go for players with such baggage. That’s where I find it to be relevant. Lastly, I can’t look a guy who rushed for 386 yards last year as the answer for our run game. I think Hunt love is the old “I know that guy” deal. There will be better, cheaper, younger running backs available imo. -
Kareem Hunt: Cut candidate. Possible 2022 Bill?
SirAndrew replied to filthymcnasty08's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hunt is being extremely overrated here. This conversation has been about the off field stuff, but he’s not a special player. His reputation was built entirely on his accomplishments in KC. Acquiring the baggage isn’t worth it. -
Yeah, I don’t think Brandon did anything innovative. The Bills just marketed themselves for the first time in franchise history. We were stuck in the Stone Age with marketing, but other teams already had the blueprint for Brandon to follow.
-
I also think you need to be wired a certain way to make it to the top. Guys who are ready to retire because they made enough cash, aren’t the types who reach the top of their profession. He also played for the Lions. That has to be a factor.
-
Yep, this team feels as phony as LA itself. They are the champs though, the big money guys did pull through.
-
Well…. I can’t say I would have enjoyed that much.

The crowd at a stadium on Sunday is different than the Super Bowl audience. Everyone watches the Super Bowl, getting a bunch dudes hyped at the stadium is different from targeting a wide audience. I think this is great music, I love those songs, and your enthusiasm for rock, but they aren’t dragging out an obese Axl Rose for a halftime show at this point.
-
Fair enough, it wasn’t my thing, but it seems like most younger people enjoyed it from what I see on social media. That’s what the NFL wants with demographics. Prince was phenomenal, and I loved all the rock halftime shows. I’m not a rap fan, but those guys have a much wider appeal than Metallica for instance. Metallica’s entire appeal is to middle aged men. Absolutely, that’s the entire point. My wife hates rap, but knew most of those songs from early 2000’s pop radio. Many of our Facebook friends are talking about it also.
-
Atrocious play calling by both teams tonight.
-
Weird stuff considering they sold their future for the guy.
-
I love rock music, it’s a huge part of my life, so I’m not putting it down. Here’s the issue, those rappers might be “old”, but social media is abuzz about their performance right now. That doesn’t happen with Metallica. Everyone 50 and under knew those songs, people of both genders, and fans of all music genres. That just isn’t the reality of Metallica. My point was that I’d love to see different genres, but not interested in cross genre collaborations. Seeing Britney Spears perform with Aerosmith for example, was not one of halftime’s finest moments.
-
Love this idea, but let them perform independently. I don’t need the type of collaboration where country stars are rapping and vice versa.
-
I hate country 😂 at least the new stuff, and that’s what we’d get at halftime.
