  1. I don’t care what anyone says, if Josh Allen doesn’t win a title, it’s due to mismanagement of the franchise. Mahomes is a major roadblock to winning it all, but he won’t be in the Super Bowl every year for the rest of his career. Other teams will represent the AFC at various times. If it’s never Josh Allen, it means we’ve made some major mistakes.

Go to 30:30.  Edelman talking about "the interceptions"  He says "these things are happening in the most important games he is playing where he's turning the ball over in the red area....and constantly happening".....this is the nonsense that these national media types love to spew even though it is not true.   I think Allen had one red zone INT this year and none n the 4th quarter and 0 turnover in the playoffs.  The overall topic is Allen needs to go further...ok great I agree but in the interest of this is a team game, has the problem against the Chiefs been Josh Allen???   Can anyone who actually knows the game and watched those games make that stupid argument?  Then he goes "a Andy Reid Patrick Mahomes team does not make those mistakes in the playoffs" and Shady agrees!, UGG   These guys all just listen to each other and don't actually know jack.  Compare Josh's turnovers to Mahomes in the  playoffs, that is not the problem.

I agree, the issue is people take these talking heads too seriously. Some of what they say is for attention, other times these guys just aren’t that bright. I’m certain many of you who post here are more intelligent than Shady and Edelman. That’s mostly the issue with sports talk.

  3. I don’t think we can, but I wish we could. We might have just watched Diggs get old and past his prime. It happens at different ages for every player. Hopefully I’m wrong, but receivers don’t have long careers these days. People were always clinging to hope that Diggs would thrive into his mid 30’s, but that’s actually quite rare.

Fangio's an old school coach. A football lifer. McDaniel is an odd duck with odd affectations.

Unpopular opinion: I think the Mike McDaniel thing is closer to souring completely and blowing up than it is to breaking through to championship level football.

I think the team will continue to thrive in the early season, continue to falter later in the season and in the playoffs (if they make it that far).

I think that, once they consistently start to not be able to break through, McDaniel's act is going to wear thin quickly and things are going to go south fast.

I also think Tua is just good enough to get your hopes up every year, and just bad enough to dash them when the stakes are highest.

I do not buy this version of the Dolphins, with McDaniel as coach and Tua as QB, as being long term contenders to the Bills for AFC East supremacy.

I agree, but I think the McDaniels experience going sour will have more to do with Tua than McDaniels. McDaniels will eventually have a decent career as coach elsewhere. Tua isn’t a championship QB, McDaniels has taken that team as far as they can go. I’m not sure how much more anyone expects a coach to accomplish with Tua. I know a lot of people find McDaniels “act” to be a bit much, but I doubt players feel that way.

Yes we do. But I pray to God we don’t go after some speed dude with concrete for hands!

I mentioned this fear when Beane discussed speed at his presser. I hope they understand some of the best receivers are guys who had poor forty times. Getting open and catching the ball isn’t all about speed. Josh Allen needs a security blanket who can also make plays. Cook could have been that guy, but he has stone hands so far.

  6. I think Ben Johnson is making a wise move that too few coaches make, but he’s certainly betting on himself. It’s possible that he reached his peak value this offseason.  Waiting for the right opportunity makes sense for long term success, but an OC’s value can go down in a hurry as well.

McCarthy is going to be an interesting one to me. He's not a top end guy with the physical intangibles...but in the right system I really think he can do well. He's a guy that may have to helped with a solid run game behind him as well.

I think of him in the Brock Purdy tier as his ceiling.

I like the Purdy comparison, but that’s why I’m confused with the McCarthy first round pick hype. I agree with others that he doesn’t seem like a first rounder. He actually reminds me of someone like AJ McCarron or Greg McElroy at Bama back in the day. A game manager on a really good college football team. His draft hype is one of the more confusing things I’ve ever seen.

Since we’re on the subject, I always had an issue with the sabres using “Rock You Like a Hurricane” in their broadcasts and game day … Carolina Hurricanes anyone?

I did think the orchestral version they played on Sabres game day was cool.

Another thing to look at is 2nd half stats. In nearly every game with Brady as OC the O struggled in the 2nd half. Like we saw in the KC playoff game, teams adjust and the Bills many times do not have an answer.

I was glad Dorsey was let go. I do not think the stats justify Brady was the clear choice. I can buy Brady for more subjective reasons and things that did not show up in the stats column. But the numbers in no way support a Brady is clearly the guy decision.

The KC loss is far enough in the past that I’m done posting irrational hot takes. I’m not going to doubt this hire too much, but the second half issue is a valid concern. Josh Allen is a great blessing, but a QB like Allen is always going make it difficult to assess the OC. We all need to be realistic, Allen could make a bad OC look really good. It’s not Brady’s fault he doesn’t have a ton of experience, but it’s just tough for me to assess any young OC when they have an elite QB.

I think SF gives them a better game.  Goff is immobile.  Campbell gives away points.  Detroit pass defense is porous.  Oh yeah...and then there's all the drops by Detroit WRs.

I agree, I think KC might have destroyed Detroit. I’d be happy with a KC loss, but the downside is a SF victory doesn’t make me very happy either. I’d rather see a team like Detroit win.
