By the way, based upon the thread title, can we develop a parody song set to the tune of ‘Benny and the Jets’?
Half my family are farmers. If I got it wrong, I might be strung up in a field as next years scarecrow.

So after one season and 4 training camp practices, it’s just over??? I mean I hope Allen is the truth but how many times have you anoint Bills QBs over the year? Just like it’s stupid to call a rookie QBs a bust after one year, it’s just as dumb to say one is a franchise qb. Rosen and Allen basically had the same passing stats and Arizona was a disaster.
I think in a a more stable situation, Rosen can be a good nfl qb.
Unfortunately for Rosen, we’re not talking about him sitting and learning behind Rivers, Brady, or Roethlisberger in a stable organization with an established coaching staff. It’d be easier to see him resurfacing as a good QB if he landed in one of those spots. Miami has been a dumpster fire for a while, so Rosen has a difficult row to hoe.

Yes, they have done some things right, but things that in the end won't matter all that much.
Passing on Mahomes, picking a 50% passer instead, thinking Peterman was a good idea.
We all know that QB is pretty much all that matters in this league and they have shown gross ineptitude concerning that position.
And I also only respond to comments I care about, sorry I don't care about the vast majority of your comments.
Do you actually type this stuff every time, or do you just copy and paste? Genuinely curious.

they're spas, so i think you can get away with that *****. there's a spa in skaneateles ny called mirbeau. the place is expensive, but they me walk around that joint in a robe, drinking glasses of vodka at my leisure. people had to check in while staring at me in a robe, half in the bag in the lobby. that's america.
One would think.... until you mosey up to the fancy dining room bar at 6pm. ?♂️. Guess my next relaxation weekend will be in Skaneatles. ?

any idea who nice you want to go? there's a place in pittsford called the del monte that has nice rooms. another place called the woodcliff that isn't in pittsford, but has the same feel and isn't too far away.
Sadly, they both charge you if you abscond with a robe... and they frown on pulling a Lebowski and ordering a White Russian in the dinning room in said robe and Flipflops.

I’m thinking we pass.... but....
”Daniels was also a three-year letterman in wrestlingand state qualifier in the discus (43.77m or 143’06) and threw the shot put (17.95m or 58’09) at the New Jersey Meet of Champions.”
This might put him in contention for a phone call. ?

My guess he did something that is going to lead to bad publicity for him and suspension.
Doubtful. The guy gets his off-season kicks by watching anime, doing cosplay, and giving away backpacks to kids. I’m sure there are reasons for the release, but DV or a big drug issue is highly unlikely.

As soon as Jalen gets his money, his career will go down hill. Anyone that cares this much about the money has zero really passion to play the game for the love of it.
Depends on if he’s actually all in for cash, or using his contract to maintain his ego. If he’s all ego he might maintain his play after getting paid so he can talk ***** after he retires like Neon Deon.

You know the argument coming right ?
Game speed.
Knowing when to accelerate and how to turn a corner. Seeing the field break down as he hits the line of scrimmage.
Getting small when moving through the big uglies is underrated btw
One could debate that, but I’m failing to see the argument... There might not be one at all after we see the kid in pads at SJF. ?♂️. We just don’t know until we see him live at this level of competition. All I know is that he did a damn good job of dodging guys in the backfield against Oklahoma, but didn’t time well in shorts. Heck, Larry Fitzgerald ran a 4.6 iirc. Some dudes are gamers.

Is he healthy? Why did he get cut? Can't all be roses if a capable player is dropped right before camp
Makes me curious. If there’s something else floating around (DUI, etc) it’ll surface in the next 48 hours or so. The timing is a little unusual with the R Foster injury, but there are plenty of reasons for a release... anything from a coaching disagreement to a promising rookie.

thurman still ran a 4.47 40. singletary ran a 4.66. i hope he's a success but speed seems to be pretty key for rbs in the league. again, how many rbs do you know that had a slower 40?
He’s in the same ballpark as Alfred Morris and Arian Foster. Obviously different skill sets, but success at that speed isn’t impossible.

Sieko watches cost $1,000?
Regular ones you buy at a dept store don’t. They top out at around $700. They have a custom shop and a luxury line “grand seiko”. The custom stuff starts around $1,000 and some of the grand Seiko go over $20k.
Point is... you probably overpaid if you spent $1,000 on a Seiko.

That’s like saying you’d ditch a Rolex you found on the beach for a Sieko you bought for $1,000.

I’m fine with Brown not recalling the details of a decade old trade of a now retired player. Particularly a guy who wasn’t a Bill, and is currently coaching on the 49ers. ?♂️. It’s not like he screwed up Thurman’s departure for Miami.

But at linebacker I think it is more just on name recognition than anything else. That might make it hard for guys like Milano and Edmunds.
If you are a DE and get a ton of sacks, you'll go to the pro bowl no matter what team you're on and if you are recognized by the masses, because the masses respect sacks. Not so simple for a linebacker unless he just gets a ton of turnovers.
I think Milano has a shot if he keeps improving. He has a knack for turnovers which will garner ESPN highlights... Particularly if he shows up big against large market teams.
2 hours ago, Stank_Nasty said:right. I agree. but that's not performance based. WEO is balking at the notion he's next in line to be a probowler based on performance.... and that's absurd IMO.
I think WEO has a point. Poyer has to be substantially better stat wise because he has no name recognition or previous following. If the pro bowl was solely a statistical analysis then Poyer would be in good shape... But... Unfortunately fan vote and sports writers matter. ?♂️ Like I said about Milano, Poyer will need big plays in games against large market teams.

lets play a game.... which player got the probowl nod?
Player A.
15 games played
95 tackles
5 int
13 passes defensed
1 fumble recovery
2 sacks
4 TFL
1td
Player B.
16 games played
82 tackles
5 int
13 passes defensed.
2 TFL
i'll answer for you. player b was hyde. he got the nod..... player A was poyer…. but PFF has spoken and I guess that's not a probowl caliber stat line.
if you don't see a probowl type stat line there from poyer you must be freaking HIGH. safeties have gotten the nod for far less.
I agree, but Hyde benefits from his time with the Packers. He made a lot of splash plays for them in prime time games, and it’s a huge fan base that looks at him fondly. Poyer doesn’t have that recognition and backing.

I feel the same about Shady as you seem, especially the bolded part.
But I don't necessarily agree it's his last season. If he goes for 1000 yards, I think there's a good chance he will re-sign with Buffalo, for a couple of reasons.
1. McBeane LOVE veteran leadership. They LOVE it. That's why they got Gore. And they love McCoy for his leadership. McBeane will keep quality veteran leaders around for as long as they can.
2. McCoy, I think, LOVES Buffalo. He loves it because he has a coach and GM who appreciates him. He has fans who appreciate him. And he can see that this team is going places. I don't think McCoy is going to be anxious to move someplace for a year or two, hoping he can capture a Lombardi. He didn't like leaving Philly, because it was home and it was comfortable. He won't like leaving Buffalo, either. And I doubt he'll go chasing the top dollar. No one will give him a long-term deal: best he can get is a rich one-year deal. I'm guessing that even if the Bills won't match the best he can get elsewhere, they will get close enough that the non-monetary issues will keep him in Buffalo.
I agree, although I could see him signing a cheap deal with Philly, Buffalo, KC, etc. Regardless, it’ll be with a city and/ coaching staff he’s familiar with.

Well, that's what the coaches have said about him, but saying it and getting him to do it are two different things. No one could teach CJ Spiller how to run in the NFL, even though he had all the talent anyone could ask for. If Edmunds can play with intelligence and instinct, he can be great. He can be dominant. And he can make this a great defense. But it's quite possible that he never will rise to that level.
Going by how his improvements have occurred from college through his rookie year... I’m inclined to believe that we aren’t going to see a massive jump in Edmunds performance. Rather, he’ll just continue to never make the same mistakes he made before, and eventually we will all be trying to figure out how he got so good.

Everyone seems caught up on the 3-4 and 4-3 comparison. We should probably recall that White played in a Buddy Ryan 46 for the first half of his NFL career. Which means he was often inside shade of the RT. Go watch some Eagles highlights of the guy rag dolling a RT and Guard before running over a RB enroute to a sack. He’d have been a beast in a 3-4 too.
Its really too close to call. Either guy could dominate in any scheme you put them in. They were both that freaky. Heck, you could probably stick either at 3-tech and they’d still come away with 10+ sacks a year.

Well, I feel dumber for having read that. Thanks.

I want to see 3,500 yards in the air with 1.8+:1 TD to Int ratio and completion percentage at 58% or higher. That’s enough improvement for me to keep the faith. Hopefully, he’ll hit that with an added 400+ yards on the ground.
Ideally, Allen will provide about 4,200 yards of total offense, 23-26 TDs (pass and run), while throwing 13 or less interceptions. If he does that this team is likely competing for a playoff spot unless there are serious injuries on the defensive side of the ball.

All of this sounds like a justification for why they need to be taller. Separation matters
Taller? How? AB is 5’10”. Davante Adams is 6’1”. OBJ (who I mentioned earlier) is 5’11”... All three reliably win contested catches. I agree that separation matters. I’m saying that body control coupled with attitude and vertical matter more than height. Literally, guys with average to short height can out perform a lot of the tall guys on contested catches if they possess other elite traits.
Just for future reference... I’ll put out a prediction for future reference. Deebo Samuel and AJ Brown will be better than DK Metcalf and Hakeem Butler with contested catches and YAC. AJ and Deebo own the ball... Attitude and body control.

My line of thinking as well. However, I won’t rule out a late career resurgence like Gannon if he sticks around a while.
