Check out this awesome interview with Lee Smith

Time to get a #85 jersey with a “human being” name tag. -
If Gore or Singletary are out for the season and we need to retool... you’re absolutely correct. It comes down to cost. I’d be happy if they picked him up for a 3rd round pick. Anything more and my inner skeptic will come out to play.... for example... My concern with Gorden is that as good as he is, he’s playing in Lynn’s system with Rivers as the QB. It’s extremely RB friendly. I’m not certain that he’d be as good in B-Lo.

I think there will be a bunch of talk and clamor over the Browns game. Dallas is the big show though, and it’ll be really hyped if we beat the Eagles. As far as the Allen narrative is concerned... If he outplays Mayfield and Jackson in head to head matchups, and we beat Dallas in front of the country he will get recognition. The whole team will. Sad reality is this team could manage 13-3 and still lose the AFC East.

Unless they’re holding out because their team has no process.

Good TBN article on Daboll's scheming
Buffalo Junction replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One thing that folks seem to forget is that this offense, like the Pats, is built to bring back concepts and schemes from previous games/matchups. I believe we’ll start to see that by the end of the year or early next year. It’s one of the reasons why the Pats can adjust so quickly on offense when opposing defenses make changes. Allen needs to improve and gain experience for that to start happening though. At this point in his development it’s completely unfair to compare Allen/Daboll to Brady/McDaniels, especially when we have so many new players. -
The discipline of this defense.

I kind of feel like we’re where the bears were before they added Mack. Different team, different style, etc.... but we’re a dominant pass rusher away from being the best in the league. -
Revisiting Beane's most subtly brilliant move as GM

That move resulted in a broken tv during my draft party. ?. -

This is where my thinking with Frazier is. He’s an older defensive retread HC. Unless we get to the playoffs and win two games with dominant D I doubt he gets a serious look from GMs or owners. However, he’s going to get a lot of interview offers because he’s one of the best minority HC candidates, and he could very well impress an owner and get another HC gig. Im not sure he’s given up on the dream, but I don’t think he’ll just take any ole gig like the Skins job. -
Not to mention that GMs always pay attention to Iowa TEs and linemen.

Jonathan Jones NOT fined for his hit on Allen

Put up an anti Riveron billboard up in NYC? ?♂️ Ray Lewis started Inside the NFL with that exact topic. -
Josh Allen’s deep ball hasn’t been there so far

On a few it isn’t a misfire, so much as poor trajectory. He has to start putting more air under the ball so DBs can’t jump and make a play. -
Gruden didnt want Haskins

This is exactly what I’m hoping for.... Rosen knocked out, and Fitzmagic shows up with a career day. -

I’m going to laugh hysterically if the Skins end up with the #1 pick, and the fish end up bridesmaids after tanking intentionally. Just perfect karma. -

Week 5: Bills (+2.5) at Titans
Buffalo Junction replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This post had me laughing my ass off... ”I'm very curious to know, on a molecular level, what the hell Frank Gore is made of. He's about 6 years past his expiration date and he's on pace for just under 1,100 yards. At 36. I mean wtf...?” ??? -
All time... Bruce. He’d transform this defense into an all time D. Best possible player from McBeane era... A fully bought in and inspired Dareus. Complete fantasy because he’d have bought in and had a shot, but 2013-2014 Marcell playing next to Oliver makes this a top 5 D line. Realistically, Watkins or Woods. Allen needs another receiver. Watkins deep ball tracking would be a threat. Woods is just everything you want and would be process plus performance.

Progression from Good to Elite Defense
Buffalo Junction replied to Buffalo716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
McD is likely heavily involved in the defense. Frazier and McD have known each other for twenty years. They were both position coaches under Jim Johnson in Philly at the turn of the century. The defense we’re looking at today is a combination of that influence (A gap pressure and line stunts) coupled with the cover 3 McD perfected and the cover 2 that Frazier always ran. They managed to mesh the schemes seamlessly which doesn’t happen without exceptional communication. -
Feliciano was also coming off of that neck injury. He likely played with a stiff neck because it was a big game, and his play will likely rebound. IMO, our biggest issue is that Nsekhe isn’t a great RT. I used to live in VA and watched a bunch of skins games. He’s a much better LT than RT. However, he’s average on the right side and one of the best swing tackles in the game. Beane took a scattershot approach and patched the oline. These guys aren’t top players, but they’re not full time liabilities either. I think we’ll see some more shakeups in the offseason. IIRC, Spain is on a 1-year deal. It’s possible they let him go after the season and move Dawkins, Ford, or Feliciano to LG next season. Wait and see. I’m happy with a middling line this year. Next year I want better.
