Some next day observations from my DVR
Buffalo Junction replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At this point I think most fans would settle for a motion of the ocean WR if it results in celebrations. -

Joe B Observations on Bills win over Phins
Buffalo Junction replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m aware of that. My point was that trading arguably their two best offensive players the week of game 1 likely influenced that teams performance. It definitely incited trade demands from other players, tanking talk, etc. Expecting that team to give top effort immediately afterwards is a stretch at the least. I’m not saying the Dolphins are a good team, and I’m not saying the Bills played well yesterday. I’m simply stating that the week 1 Fitz start isn’t indicative of how they’re going to play with Fitz starting from here on out. As a whole that team looked apathetic and lost week 1. The dolphins team we saw yesterday came out punching, and didn’t get put in it’s place until the 4th quarter. -

Week 1 after they just traded Tunsil and Stills rearranging their offense. The Ravens also rolled out an offensive scheme that wasn’t on tape yet, which is why it’s generally wise to take week 1 results with a grain of salt. Fitzmagic or Fitztragic plays a role as well. That said, this team has been playing to the level of competition every week. It’s concerning, but it’s the hallmark of young and/ inexperienced teams. It was something I expected going into the season (didn’t see 5-1 coming), but it needs to get rectified as that’s the difference between good teams and great teams. -
Everyone, ESPN included, seems to be forgetting the Greg Roman effect with running QBs. That’s making a huge difference in Jackson’s performance running the ball. The kid is gifted, but eventually Romans schemes get figured out. I believe it’s 2-3 years. Lynn found a working game plan in his second game against the Ravens last season. BB will have a gameplan for it as well. I’m curious about how Jackson will perform with a different OC there.

Exactly. It’s going to cause Wallace to look bad at times as teams will put their #1 WRs on his side to try and win on a physical mismatch. The kid isn’t particularly fast or strong. However, he’s smart and plays like a dog. I’m okay with that side of the field giving up some first downs if Wallace isn’t giving up any big plays. I’m sure he’s coached to do so.

John Brown Touchdown Dance!
Buffalo Junction replied to babulator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Im not a big fan of the coordinated team celebration. Reminds of the Riverdance scene from Baseketball (below). However, I have no issues with a quick dance, leap, spike, etc. especially at a critical moment like a go ahead TD. -
I think fans forget that both our HC and DC were top rank secondary coaches before being promoted. Coupled with how game smart Hyde and Poyer are it creates an incredibly good back end. Levi is also playing opposite Tre so he’s going to get picked on.... Fitz just proved why yesterday... Throwing the ball at Tre is like playing roulette.
-
This is a relatively young team with young starters at some critical positions. I’m really not surprised that they’re playing to the level of their competition. McD has been fantastic, but he’s also In his 3rd year as a HC and has hired a few young coaches as well: O line, ST, etc. I think this team is going to grow together and keep improving. As this moves along I expect them to overcome their inconsistencies and learn how to play up to their level of talent instead of the opposing teams.

Tre white WILL get the call...
Buffalo Junction replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the narrative comes from Gilmore seemingly not going all out in his contract year coupled with a few performance mishaps under the foot fondler. -
Generally agree. It’s just Hyde. ?♂️. Statistics tend to point out averages and don’t usually factor in particular situations, nor to they account for exceptional players. To be honest, Hyde might actually be the best return man on this team... However, he’s also a defensive starter. As for taking a tackle. I’d rather him turn it into a two score game.
-
I really thought they’d just hammer Miami with Gore after those first few runs. Dabs went away from it even though it was working...
-
I get that. I’m saying that the player recovering the ball was Hyde who for 2-3 years was one of the best return men in the NFL before he locked down a key role on defense. It’s why they had him fielding punts earlier in the year. He’s also one of the smartest and most reliable players on the field. I trust Hyde to make the correct decision, which the results would indicate he did. If Knox recovered the ball I’d have a different take.

Week 7: Dolphins at Bills (-17)
Buffalo Junction replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I seriously doubt this team can match that. Heck, that highlight half made the Pats/Fins performance look pathetic. It really was a loaded Offense with a HOF QB destroying a demoralized division rival. We may never see another half of football like that for a while. As for this Sunday... I could see Allen along with some other critical starters and guys playing through injuries getting pulled if we are up by 21+ going into the 4th quarter. Basically, pull Allen, Brown, etc and just play ball control O till the game ends. -
Week 7: Dolphins at Bills (-17)

Closest I can think of was about five years ago. Packers vs Bears. Rodgers threw six touchdowns in the first half while the D blanked the Bears. 42-0 at halftime. -
I’d take a good hard look at Geronimo Allison if the Packers let him go. Dude can play and finds openings when Rodgers scrambles. That’s got some value considering Allen’s talents. They’ll probably resign him, but they’re close to the cap and are about to find out what their younger WRs have to offer. In general, I’m not too enthralled with this years WR FA class.
-
I still think he might negotiate an actual contract with Wallace. Primarily to spread the cost and keep the yearly cheap, The benefit for Wallace would be guaranteed money now and more salary in the first 1-2 years than he would have gotten. Phillips is going to be interesting. Can’t say the guy will take a home town discount, but all things being equal I think he resigns here. Plus, Beane might not want to shake up the DT rotation. There’s always the chance some team offers stupid money though, especially if he has another monster game.
