  1. Nope. They’ll throw D batteries and give analingus to a horse to enhance the theatrical jeering.
  2. I feel like McD ended up with the perfect situation to let things evolve naturally. Rex disaster, cap dump, break the drought with deficient talent, QB injuries, start the rawest rookie the league has seen. Now they’re 5-1 on the backs of a great defense and young QB who will drive you crazy for 3 then show up with a box of chocolates in the 4th. They grabbed the right QB for this city. This fan base would be eating Mayfield or Rosen alive due to their pre-draft cockiness.
  3. Rodgers was a unicorn. I can’t recall another time when a team with a HOF QB had a possible #1 overall QB slide into the 20’s and become available. Barring a horrible bowl game injury to a highly touted draft prospect it’s unlikely to ever happen again. This team seems to be walking the fine line with Allen; giving him everything he can handle slowly expanding the playbook and schemes week to week. I keep thinking about Daboll mentioning how the Pats offense works. How they don’t run many new schemes late in the year, but rather recycle things that have worked previously. We’ll see how this develops (pun intended) over time. Jackson is interesting as well. The Ravens seem to be all in on fully exploiting his running talents while slowly increasing the passing scheme complexity. It appears that their approach is to let Jackson ball out on the run to stress defenses early in his career while gaining experience and recognition with the hope that he ultimately develops into a solid pocket passer before the rookie contract is up. My big question there is “will the league figure out Roman’s system again?” His passing schemes aren’t anywhere near his running schemes and every QB he’s coached seems to peak in year 2 or 3: Kaep, Taylor....
  4. At this point I think most fans would settle for a motion of the ocean WR if it results in celebrations.
  5. I’m aware of that. My point was that trading arguably their two best offensive players the week of game 1 likely influenced that teams performance. It definitely incited trade demands from other players, tanking talk, etc. Expecting that team to give top effort immediately afterwards is a stretch at the least. I’m not saying the Dolphins are a good team, and I’m not saying the Bills played well yesterday. I’m simply stating that the week 1 Fitz start isn’t indicative of how they’re going to play with Fitz starting from here on out. As a whole that team looked apathetic and lost week 1. The dolphins team we saw yesterday came out punching, and didn’t get put in it’s place until the 4th quarter.
  6. Week 1 after they just traded Tunsil and Stills rearranging their offense. The Ravens also rolled out an offensive scheme that wasn’t on tape yet, which is why it’s generally wise to take week 1 results with a grain of salt. Fitzmagic or Fitztragic plays a role as well. That said, this team has been playing to the level of competition every week. It’s concerning, but it’s the hallmark of young and/ inexperienced teams. It was something I expected going into the season (didn’t see 5-1 coming), but it needs to get rectified as that’s the difference between good teams and great teams.
  7. Neither am I. The kid keeps eliminating weaknesses in his game, and I honestly thought he’d be getting his first start now instead of his 17th.
  8. Probably. That’s the type of stuff that likely will get sorted as Allen gains more experience and the line plays together more. I wasn’t a huge fan of Spain missing A gap blitzes, and I assume some of those play calls are designed so Allen and Morse can change protections, etc.
  9. And if Fitztragic had had started the game instead of Fitzmagic I think one of those early passes could have been picked. I watched the game with a bunch of friends and was amazed that they’d forgotten what “good Fitz” can do. The guy drops dimes when he’s in the zone.... until he isn’t.
  10. I think some of those motions were inserted to help Allen recognize coverages and the gadgets may have been added to keep those from being predictable. At least none of them got blown up like the fish’s Gadget pass.
  11. Yeah, but Rodgers has a perfect game yesterday and that’s josh’s new standard. ?‍♂️
  12. Everyone, ESPN included, seems to be forgetting the Greg Roman effect with running QBs. That’s making a huge difference in Jackson’s performance running the ball. The kid is gifted, but eventually Romans schemes get figured out. I believe it’s 2-3 years. Lynn found a working game plan in his second game against the Ravens last season. BB will have a gameplan for it as well. I’m curious about how Jackson will perform with a different OC there.
  13. Exactly. It’s going to cause Wallace to look bad at times as teams will put their #1 WRs on his side to try and win on a physical mismatch. The kid isn’t particularly fast or strong. However, he’s smart and plays like a dog. I’m okay with that side of the field giving up some first downs if Wallace isn’t giving up any big plays. I’m sure he’s coached to do so.
  14. Im not a big fan of the coordinated team celebration. Reminds of the Riverdance scene from Baseketball (below). However, I have no issues with a quick dance, leap, spike, etc. especially at a critical moment like a go ahead TD.
  15. I think fans forget that both our HC and DC were top rank secondary coaches before being promoted. Coupled with how game smart Hyde and Poyer are it creates an incredibly good back end. Levi is also playing opposite Tre so he’s going to get picked on.... Fitz just proved why yesterday... Throwing the ball at Tre is like playing roulette.
  16. This is a relatively young team with young starters at some critical positions. I’m really not surprised that they’re playing to the level of their competition. McD has been fantastic, but he’s also In his 3rd year as a HC and has hired a few young coaches as well: O line, ST, etc. I think this team is going to grow together and keep improving. As this moves along I expect them to overcome their inconsistencies and learn how to play up to their level of talent instead of the opposing teams.
  17. I think the narrative comes from Gilmore seemingly not going all out in his contract year coupled with a few performance mishaps under the foot fondler.
  18. Generally agree. It’s just Hyde. ?‍♂️. Statistics tend to point out averages and don’t usually factor in particular situations, nor to they account for exceptional players. To be honest, Hyde might actually be the best return man on this team... However, he’s also a defensive starter. As for taking a tackle. I’d rather him turn it into a two score game.
  19. I really thought they’d just hammer Miami with Gore after those first few runs. Dabs went away from it even though it was working...
  20. I get that. I’m saying that the player recovering the ball was Hyde who for 2-3 years was one of the best return men in the NFL before he locked down a key role on defense. It’s why they had him fielding punts earlier in the year. He’s also one of the smartest and most reliable players on the field. I trust Hyde to make the correct decision, which the results would indicate he did. If Knox recovered the ball I’d have a different take.
  21. I’d agree, but that was Hyde’s fifth return for a TD. Can’t argue with him seeing a gap for a big return. It’s not like he hasn’t done it before. ?‍♂️
