  1. I’m curious if those semi-whiff sack attempts and Allen stiff arms count as contact... He’s actually done a pretty good job of avoiding big hits since the NE game.
  2. Siri just transcribed some drunkards 1am sports bar rant and turned it into an article.
  3. I love the freezing games, and I usually go when I come up from VA for the holidays. What I dislike are the 40* and raining games. Granted, I have a ton of metal attached to my bones so 32-45* and humid is brutal. All that said, I’d actually prefer something like quest with a partial cover to keep the wind and rain down. Either way though I’ll still go to my holiday games since it’s tradition. ?‍♂️
  4. True, but our D line was also getting housed. We’ll see how it goes. My big concern is Edmunds leaving coverage early to engage Jackson.
  5. I imagine that it’s been brought up to the league. It’s not something I can picture McD and Beane ignoring. My fear is that the refs don’t care.
  6. I’m starting to worry about this. Allen is starting to get the Cam Newton treatment where nothing was called until he said something to the press. It’s basically a free pass to hit our QB, and short of Pegula calling out the officiating I’m not sure if it changes.
  7. If I’m reading this correctly the only team better is the 49ers. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2019/fantasy-points-against-TE.htm
  8. I think folks are underestimating the value of that. Allen keeps improving and Daboll is riding high in his hometown. Pair that with the Pegulas having enough cash to match monetary offers, and I doubt he leaves unless it’s his dream HC job or close to it. As a result I think we can rule out any crappy franchises without a franchise level talent at QB. Simply put, Daboll can afford to wait which is rare in the NFL.
  9. I’m all for taking linemen in any round if they’re BPA. Having less physically gifted linemen is why a lot of these high powered offenses stall this time of year. Plus, having an abundance of line talent means you’re rich in trade assets should you need it. That said, this team is now in a position where they can draft and develop. Allen’s mobility also allows for some flexibility as he can usually escape pressure if he sees it early. As for WRs. I like the scatter gun approach. Don’t go for 1st rounders unless they’re clearly BPA, but be prepared to pepper the rest of the draft with WR and CB picks.
  10. I’ve liked how Spain has played for the most part. He’s had a few bad plays in pass pro though, particularly picking up stunts and blitzes. The flipside is that he’s a mauler. I would like to see him return if the value is there. I honestly have no clue what the FA guard market looks like this off-season aside from Scherff being available. There’s certainly value in consistency, and returning the entire O-line has serious benefits.
  11. Is it? Because it’s certainly a piece of my childhood.... Saw my first serious knee injury when my friend Jake got hit by a corolla while we were playing ball in the street. ??? Except he’s from Florida. ?‍♂️
  12. Tackle ball on the street. It’s why Lamar’s so elusive.... evading civics and silverados is excellent practice.
  13. My money is on Dorsey replacing Kitchens with Mike McCarthy it someone from KC. He’s likely going to go with an offensive minded HC he knows and feels can command respect from those personalities. It’s not, but with Allen’s improvements and Beane’s willingness to upgrade the offense top candidates will interview and listen to offers.
  14. Well, if we win it’ll be because we don’t hold anything back.
  15. That’s why I used “some” instead of “all”. ?‍♂️. They’ll have to drub one or two of these teams in one way or another to get full credit in the media.... Something like beat the Ravens by holding them under 17 and/or light up the Pats D like Houston just did. Regardless, if they win out they won’t be ignored, especially if that comes with a division win.
  16. If we pull off a narrow win against the Ravens they aren’t gonna sleep on this team. If we follow that up with narrow wins against the Pats and Steelers some of those guys are gonna start saying this team can get to the SB.
  17. 13 rushing attempts for -1 yards and 3 receptions for 4 yards..... Those are Barry Sanders stats in a playoff game. Every player can be stopped. The issue is what you give up to stop that player. To stop Lamar Jackson completely you have to give up the inside run which almost guarantees a loss with Ingram (it’s why they signed him) going wild. Now, maybe the weather helps like that referenced Sanders game. IDK. Eventually the physicality of the NFL will change Jackson’s game just like it did to Chris Johnson and RGIII. Perhaps the NFL will pull back some of the QB run protections (highly unlikely). No matter, Jackson will have to evolve just like Josh, R Wilson, Favre, etc to have continued success. As for how this team stops L Jackson.... Short of Jackson, Yanda, Ingram, or Andrews getting injured early we don’t stop him. However, if this team plays disciplined football and the offense is effective we can limit Jackson and likely force some turnovers. Honestly, if Allen puts up better numbers than Jackson we probably win this game barring TOs, penalties, etc.
  18. For sure. It’d be different if Foster had secured the spot opposite Brown, but he’s failed to do so. He has ST value, so I’m fine with keeping him while cheap. We need a better #2 and #3 though if we’re going with a pass first attack. McKenzie can be effective on designed plays, but he’s not quite fast enough or big enough to be a threat without dramatically improving his route running. I’m not including Duke because he hasn’t worked himself back into the active roster for one reason or another.
  19. It depends on how this offense evolves. If they add a guy like Shenault then McKenzie is completely expendable as is the extra RB. Out of McK and Foster I’d keep Foster as well. Not only can he be electric, but he has value on special teams as a gunner. If this offense goes more TE centric than I can see keeping 4 TEs, but there are currently 5 TEs and a FB on the payroll. I think one can be dropped for more speed on the field since Allen seems to prefer intermediate passes. We will see how it pans out, but if they continue going with 11 personnel instead of 12 personnel they might drop a TE next season.
  20. As the roster stands Foster and McKenzie can be improved upon and Roberts gets the return spot. Kroft, Lee, and Sweeney aren’t all needed. Plus the bottom of the roster is always churning.... Yeldon, Perry, etc can all be replaced. You upgrade when and where you can.
  21. Fair enough. I’m not sure if his lack athleticism is worse than other players missing assignments due to misdirection and over aggressive play. Who knows though??? We’ll find out Sunday. ??
  22. My concern with pulling Lorax is that we have three defensive starters that practiced against Roman’s schemes with Tyrod... Lorax is one along with Lawson and Hughes. There is value in having those players on the field together since they’re less likely to hesitate. That could make a massive difference in this game. Now, it’s also entirely possible that Jackson jukes them out of their socks, but that’s not entirely preventable with a safety in there either
  23. It’s all about value. A top DE makes Shaq and Murphy expendable. If I had to bet I’d put money on Beane going after a value veteran WR to pair with Brown and a rookie WR, pay for a DE and let Shaq and/ Murphy walk, or sign a pass rushing LBer to replace Alexander when he retires. I have faith.
