  1. ^^^THIS^^^ With where the league is Edmunds ability to shrink zones can disrupt the passing game and lead to picks. His lapses in the run D can be mitigated by better D line play and the offense scoring to provide early leads. Teams that often go into halftime with a 7 point lead rarely have bad statistical run defense.
  2. I find this incredibly encouraging. If Knox reigns in the drops he could develop into a top TE which would mean we can go speed over size (but not quite smurf) in the WR group and it’ll help Allen’s development tremendously.
  3. It’s certainly a valid point. If you’re the best corner in the league you dominate in both man and zone. Tre’s a top 5 corner hands down. None of the top guys are substantially better than the rest like Deon or are is though. The flipside is that until midway through last season Gilmore’s weaknesses zone coverage and speed. The media seems to have forgotten his first season in NE where he blew a lot of zone coverages; particularly cover 3 and quarters. The speed issue has been partially resolved by NE referee treatment and the league calling defensive PI less frequently this season.
  4. Fair enough. I dislike the idea of creating holes in the o line. I’m not so sure that Spain isn’t upgradable though. His lack of agility certainly rears it’s head a few times a game on screens, traps, d line stunts, and delayed blitzes. Spain is a good mauler, but I’m not sure he’s athletic enough to do exactly what Daboll wants. I’d replace him with Scherff in a heartbeat, but I’ll also entertain the idea that Ford is a cheaper and more athletic guard.
  5. Why not just move Felliciano to LG, Ford to RG, and just sign a FA RT while letting Spain leave? The kid has a year under his belt and experience at RG. Just making that swap improves the athleticism on the interior.
  6. We don’t need a Michael Thomas or Julio Jones. It’d be nice, but... it’s not a necessity. Another receiver the caliber of Robert Woods would fit the bill, and make this offense a lot harder to stop. Particularly if Knox improves his hands and blocking in the off season. We’re playing #4 WRs as #2’s. That’s detrimental, but at least Foster isn’t our best receiving option anymore.
  7. Certainly possible, especially if Allen is going to hit deep shots and Brown is going to spin around top corners. ?‍♂️
  8. Bandwagon. Interesting. I was just assuming that most of the new accounts were sock accounts for trolling. Bandwagon. Gonna take some getting used to.
  9. The only way to ensure victory when the fix is in. Otherwise you get this....
  10. One thing BB mentioned in the imbedded video.... Our offense is gameplan oriented; we changed the offense for the Pit game, etc. We have noticed that here, and it’s been mentioned by players to an extent. I’m curious how that evolves over the next year or so.
  11. It can’t all be out on the size of the WRs. Scheme and execution also matter. Smaller WRs can break games wide open with an accurate throw off a rub. That doesn’t happen very often here. Part of it is Allen being inconsistent; other aspect is we tend to go for chunk yardage, especially with Smoke
  12. “Hey Josh. This is how I gave Darnold mono.”
  13. Knox seems to do better when he doesn’t have time to think. It doesn’t seem to matter if that’s due to pass interference or a rocket ball. That’s why I have high hopes for the kid. The talent is there. Just needs to improve his blocking and let the game slow down.
  14. Or the pope admitting that a lot of priest did in fact wanna get into the boys ?.
  15. Allen is a potential harbinger of doom for the folks super focused on analytics. By all of their measures and algorithms should not succeed... Yet... here he is winning games. All of the predator analytics guys are already eating crow because of Lamar Jackson, and if Allen takes this team on a deep playoff run their formulas are proved faulty. Admitting faulty science is difficult. Truth is none of these metrics can predict drive, will, leadership, etc. They won’t admit that there’s no statistical formula that could predict whether Blackledge would be better or worse than Kelly or Marino... or that Cousins would be better than RGIII. Sadly, these dudes are just going to defend their predictions. There’s nothing anyone can do about it except tune out. The only way it changes is if players start snubbing these guys retroactively and only do mandatory interviews a la Marshawn.
  16. Yes. The responsibilities are slightly different as are the abilities of RTs and LTs. Generally speaking LDEs are larger and stronger than RDEs, better against the run, and possibly better at dropping into zone coverage. That’s sort of prototyping though. Realistically, they have to be able to keep contain when doubled by a RT and TE, plus beat a RT 1 on 1 in the pass rush. A lot of guys switch back and forth though. Plus, there’s a whole range of talents and schemes which dictate what type of LDE and RDE a team is looking for.
  17. Im not sure it makes a difference in the daily preparation, but the continual reinforcement of the “Buffalo vs the world” theme doesn’t hurt. They certainly seem to keep track of the slights, and they’ve pointed them out on multiple occasions. I think the players have also figured out that these snubs, slights, and digs get the fan base riled up, and that’s contributing to a unique environment.... Only team in NY. I’m not sure it’s the playing angry part that matters, so much as finding a reason to go run sprints at 6am on a 5 degree February day.
  18. Literally the Danley Matterhorn. https://www.danleysoundlabs.com/the-matterhorn/
  19. 1/4 of the NFLPA grievances filed were against the Jags.... DAMN! lol
  20. Politely is the key. Cussing them out will probably bet the Jerry Hughes treatment.
  21. I’d imagine around $7-$8MM a year for Shaq unless he has a freak game and gets over 10 sacks. Phillips is harder to estimate because we’re looking at an anomalous year that’s top 5 in production. Phillips is likely getting a big offer or two from a desperate team.... but.... Phillips knows the difference between a good and bad organization.
  22. This article should be read before considering the OPs discussion topic... https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.espn.com/blog/buffalo-bills/post/_/id/34057/bills-dogs-shaq-lawson-and-jordan-phillips-setting-tone-for-defense%3fplatform=amp
  23. I’m not sure McD needs to win the AFCE. Winning out and a Steelers collapse might do it, especially with a playoff win added on. Tying record with the GOAT coach and GOAT qb might be enough. We shall see though. McD has a ***** at COY, and if he doesn’t get it I’m sure he’ll be in the running again.... which is an unusual, but wonderful feeling for a bills fan.
