I have Bowden as a late 3rd - mid 4th value. He’s not as explosive as McKenzie, but Bowden has better vision and better hands. Plus he’s a dog. I’m not opposed to having a slot WR that can truck a LB on the goal line.

Yeah, but Daboll seems to have different preferences than Denison. I could easily see a McKenzie or Roberts replacement getting drafted to upgrade the “gadget” role. It’s why I took a deep dive into Bowden after they met with him. Personally, I’d rather see CB, RB, or Edge at 54. If the value is substantially higher at WR when we pick im all for it though.

I think it’s likely. He didn’t run at the combine, and the lack of pro days mean that he didn’t get to show he has fully recovered and has enough speed to play CB. As a result his best fit is a zone heavy team that may have a future need at safety or run a lot of big nickle.

I still think they’re most likely to take a WR that makes these guys expendable. A Shenault, Hamler, Bowden, etc. A guy with versatility and/ teams value. The big outside WR doesn’t seem to be a priority. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if they grabbed Claypool.

At least someone agrees with me. I quit mentioning him because it never gained traction. He was being talked about as a possible first round CB before his injury. Big, instinctive, physical, sure tackling CB best suited for a zone scheme. May be able to convert him to safety if his hips don’t prove fluid enough for CB. Noted for leadership and community service which is right up McB’s alley.

It’s solid as a long term move. For a team that was in the NFC championship game it a bit ???. Particularly because they traded up. It’s not like Love was sitting there like Rodgers was.

At the time Bradford has one of the best rookie seasons by a QB... then injuries and a lack of development. The fact that Pennington stayed in the league with the post-surgery arm strength of a toddler is indicative of his exceptional timing, vision and accuracy. Not that his arm strength was average before hand, but managing a 66% completion percentage when all you can do is lob wounded ducks is insane. The injuries happened though, and so did the fourth quarter INTs on deep outs. I agree that Tua has more talent than either. The injury concerns are legit though, as injuries have derailed plenty of promising careers.

Dude basically had an improved rating every year of his career. Only two complete seasons. Talent was there..... was never healthy enough to capitalize on it. Same goes for Pennington, but Pennington was more gifted until the shoulders died.

Bradford and Pennington were exceptional...... until injuries kept occurring.

It’s certainly possible. I have no idea what their assets are, but a lot of energy people invest heavily in related sectors. If the Pegulas are heavy on fossil fuel, pipelines, etc right now they could be hemorrhaging capital.

Yup. However both were acquired before Daboll. Duke Williams is the huckleberry amidst a sea of “smurfs”. The things I’m keying on are versatility and football IQ. There seems to be a trend there with FA signings and guys who ultimately make the final roster.
