What's a unique/hot draft take that you hold to?
Buffalo Junction replied to whatdrought's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Holmgren school of QB tactics. All of the HCs from that tree have done this to varying degrees of success. -
and the Layoffs begin @ Pegula Sports
Buffalo Junction replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It’s certainly possible. I have no idea what their assets are, but a lot of energy people invest heavily in related sectors. If the Pegulas are heavy on fossil fuel, pipelines, etc right now they could be hemorrhaging capital. -
Cover 1: Hasise Dubois, Virginia WR Sleeper
Buffalo Junction replied to BigBuff423's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yup. However both were acquired before Daboll. Duke Williams is the huckleberry amidst a sea of “smurfs”. The things I’m keying on are versatility and football IQ. There seems to be a trend there with FA signings and guys who ultimately make the final roster. -

Which lets Beane select literally any type of WR he wants from physical freaks that need development in order to play outside to high floor low ceiling gadget players. They seem to prefer guys in that 5’10” - 6’ range though.... but.... perhaps they’re looking for diversity in body types this year. Fun to speculate. -
Kiper Mock 4.0 - Bills take Okwara at 54

True. One could probably build a really good offensive foundation by just drafting OL and TEs from Notre Dame and Iowa. ? -

I trust OL from Notre Dame. -
Prospect discussion: Antonio Gibson

It’s interesting to me that they met with a bunch of these multi-positional players. Seems like they’re looking to upgrade the gadget spot with a higher ceiling player. -
I seriously consider Tua there. I wouldn’t even care if Allen is the guy. You grab Tua, let him heal, coach him up so he can light up preseason and/ the backup role. He’s a guy you could potentially flip for multiple firsts or a top ten pick in 1-2 years. If Allen gets wrecked physically or regresses you can always go with Tua. Granted, if Tua drops to the second round there would be a serious medical problem.... or.... he got caught smuggling kilos.

Thurman, Gore, McGahee, etc were one time ligament injuries from particular instances. The chronically injured players are different. -

The Lions take Tyler Biadasz, Guard, Wisconsin We need to bolster depth and increase competition on the offensive line. We’re of the belief that Biadasz’s performed below his ability this past season while recovering from a hip injury and playing through a lingering shoulder injury. When he rebounds he’ll look like a steal in the third round. -

In negotiations right now to make the contract voidable if he goes within 100 yards of a movie theater. -

Good choice, but I traded my pick to Virgil for aging vets from the movie. Donald Sutherland and Hillary Swank still have some juice. Unfortunately he unloaded Paul Reubens contract on us, but it was the only way to make fair value. The plus side is that now we can take the hamburger train to events. -

Well, I guess we know who’s most likely to draft Sarah Michelle Geller. -

There’s no other way to do it. Heck, I missed my second round pick for a family emergency. Folks will bail on 6th round picks because they’re watching Buffy the vampire slayer. Same here. I assumed he was already gone and was looking to see if someone took Uche. Lewis was a no brainer when I noticed he was still available. Saban to Patricia... everything lined up. -

With the 67th pick the Detroit Lions select Terrell Lewis, edge, Alabama. We need to get more pressure on the QB and maintain contain on the edge. We see Lewis as the best option here for immediate production. -
Perine doesn’t. What he’s really good at is varying his speed to disrupt pursuit angles from off ball defenders. He seems to have a plan of attack with the called play and a backup lane, presses the LOS, makes his choice, then goes. He saves that last gear for turning the corner or accelerating in the secondary. How good he is at the next level is going to come down to how good his Oline is. He’s not the type to make something out of nothing a la Singletary. However, if you just go by game speed he’s just fast enough to crack some big runs, especially if he can trust his blockers. Certainly not going to outrun NFL corners in a 50 yard foot race. Whether or not our line is good enough to maximize his potential is debatable. It’s certainly better than what Perine ran behind last year, so he’s worth consideration.... Might look phenomenal behind a solid Oline that relies on an inside zone scheme.

I’m not sure if Bowden is a sleeper. I do think that folks forgot about how good of a WR he is because of his move to QB. Seems like folks don’t remember that he caught 30 passes before the transition. NFL scouts probably didn’t forget though. I have him comped with Randall Cobb and think he’ll go in the third round.

Sorry. My girlfriends daughter sprained her wrist in a scooter fall this morning. Spent the day doing urgent care, etc. Went full family mode. -
I’d be okay with it. Duggar would have to be a hit though. I do think Perine is underrated; partly because his Oline was so bad and partly because he’s not really exceptional at anything. His one great trait is vision and decision making before getting to the LOS which isn’t usable with a bad oline. Kid can press, make the LBers commit, then nail a lane. With a poor line though.....
