  1. I didn’t use the link.... but I did email cbssports about one of their writers struggle with an addiction to crack.
  2. I generally go with home dogs to cover week one. To many wacky things happen to rely on other trends and speculation.
  3. I’m not sure if they can do it according to their rules. However, Jerry Richardson (Panthers) definitely sold his team ASAP after getting caught.
  4. With Mongo out it‘s likely the strongest combination regardless of which plays RT and RG. Probably easier to just put Nsekhe in at RT and maintain continuity at the other Oline positions. Nsekhe is one of the best swing tackles in the NFL. I expect them to take advantage of that if/when needed.
  5. Food for thought.... Perhaps some of the board members read posts on their phone in the break room at work, and don’t have the luxury of sitting on their couch with a laptop all day. Regardless, casually pointing out formatting when there are format option when one “pastes” is hardly a personal attack.
  6. Doesn’t help that I’m reading the thread with a hangover. ?. I’m not a huge stat guy for Allen because he’s a gunslinger by nature and he started so far behind the curve. I used Rivers as a comparison because there are similarities in how they approach(ed) passing as both seem to be strongest at intermediate throws... Particularly turning 3rd and long into 1st downs. Limiting mistakes is going to be the biggest indicator, and I think stats will add up if Allen can cut back the turnovers. I expect him to go through the first half of his career with a lower than average completion percentage and a higher than average yards per completion since that’s sort of the gunslinger MO. As long as he improves on the mistakes and becomes consistent he will become a franchise QB. I still want to see him take over and dominate a game against a team other than Miami though.
  7. Are you being facetious? The only QBs to hit 69% or over last season were Brees and Carr. If Allen makes a similar improvement to last season he will hit 64%. I don’t expect that due to his play style (62% is more likely), that would put his completion percentage smack dab in the middle of the pack. Honestly, what I’d like to see is Allen with passing stats similar to Phillip Rivers fourth year in the league (second starting). Maybe reduce the yards per game from 250 to 225 since Allen doesn’t have Sproles, Tomlinson and Gates as checkdown YAC monsters. Basically: 62-64% completion percentage, 3600-3800 yards, ~3:1 TD/INT ratio. The yardage can flex depending on how much Allen runs, but around 4,000 total yards while seriously cutting down the turnovers would be a solid step.
  8. Could probably unload a guard or TE for a db. I don’t think he’s on the block, but an example would be Kroft for Josh Jackson (GB) who seems to have fallen out of favor or be a bad scheme fit for Pettine’s defense. We’d get an underperforming second round CB and they’d get aN injury prone weapon for Rodgers.
  9. I’d be careful comparing the two players. Due to Sherman’s over the top braggadocio we tend to forget that - like Fitzmagic - he’s one of the smartest guys in the NFL. Plus he had NFL caliber coaching every year after high school. Coupled with his length and physicality the effects of age are less detrimental to his performance. That’s not to knock Norman. He may very well rebound as he’s in the perfect position to do so. ??. However, we probably shouldn’t compare him to a likely HOF candidate that’s always been the exception rather than the rule.
  10. We laugh, but are we really sure the agent didn’t have to fight through a bunch of Mike Brown’s shenanigans?
  11. Someone remembers the adult room at the video store.
  12. I was shocked that GB traded out. I thought for sure there was no way they could pass on Edmunds.
  13. I’m still reserving judgement on Jackson. There are two reasons for this... 1. Jackson is young and still developing. He hasn’t yet shown that he can work the whole field, but his running has more than made up for it so far. Long term he needs to substantially improve at getting the ball to WRs outside the hashes. 2. Greg Roman’s track record. The guy is brilliant at drawing up run schemes and innovations. However, he seems to get “figured out” after three years. A large part of that is due to his passing attacks and game calling being less developed. McD figured it out last season and Ten copies and executed the scheme. We’ll see how he adapts. I certainly think Jackson is more talented than Kap and Tyrod. He has a lot of room to grow. The challenge is going to be Roman’s growth and ability to involve WRs into an effective downfield attack. Roman and Jacksons’ strengths amplify each other as do their weaknesses. One or both need to improve for long term success. As it stands right now the Ravens are a leg injury away from a very limited offense.
  14. One thing that Wilson, Mahomes, and Rodgers all do rather consistently is line up their front foot to where they want the ball to go.... even when in the air or traveling sideways.
  15. Agree. Sticking Edmunds on the outside would diminish some of his strengths... The ability to go sideline to sideline, drop into deep middle, etc. People often miss a few nuances such as Edmunds - and Milano - are excellent at coverage which allows Hyde and Poyer more flexibility to disguise what they’re doing. As for run defense, he’s not a thumper, but I’m sure that being 6-5 and 250+ makes an impact. Plus, when some of those backs try to jump cut Edmunds length often allows him to compensate. He’s difficult to gameplan and prepare for because he’s unique at the position. Some impressions by Henry and Ingram... “Henry admitted he learned something new about Edmunds later in the regular season. “I didn't know he was that young until they played the Steelers,” he said of the 21-year-old Edmunds. “He's a big dude. He's fast, physical. He's going to be one of the great ones when it's all said and done.” Henry wasn’t the only Pro Bowl running back to come away from a game against the Bills with a positive impression of Edmunds. The Ravens’ Mark Ingram was held to just 50 yards on 15 carries (3.3 yards per carry) in Baltimore’s Week 14 win over the Bills. Edmunds made eight tackles in that game, including two for losses, and also intercepted a Lamar Jackson pass. “He's big, fast, physical,” Ingram said of Edmunds. “He runs with speed sideline to sideline. Great game awareness. So he was just a linebacker who you truly had to know where he was at, because he can make an impact on your game and affect your game in a negative way if you don't account for him.” https://buffalonews.com/2020/01/24/tremaine-edmunds-on-growing-leadership-role-with-bills-thats-a-challenge-im-ready-to-take-on/
  16. To a certain point you are correct. However, if the seating is reduced and distancing is maintained the chances of a cluster go down. Security would need to enforce the policies though. I think teams that have outdoor stadiums will be better off here. Particularly if they eliminate food and beverage purchases in the concourses and have the venders deliver to the seats. Should be possible with phone apps.... as would a cutoff on the number of beverages served. Tailgating is a different matter entirely. They might have to just ban it completely or confine folks to the lots they park in until game time.
