  1. I’m saying the media pushed the inconsistency and inaccuracy narrative so hard that Allen will have to do something insanely impressive on the national stage to force them into supporting him. Jackson doesn’t face the same bias as Allen. Both QBs are still developing though. Allen could very well get to that elite MVP level.... It’s just gonna take longer for him to garner support for any type of MVP run. It’s also an uphill battle for anyone not named Mahomes.
  2. Read all of what you quoted..... Jackson has a very different narrative being fed to the public No. It’s Miami.
  3. 5000+ total yards, 48 total TDs, 0 INTs, and 32 fumbles won’t happen. I get what you’re saying, but let’s be honest...... Allen has a way to go before getting an MVP. Plus, he’ll have to break the stigma of his labeling. He’d have to have some great playoff games to do that.
  4. People tend to forget that coaching a bad team to a respectable record is a different challenge than beating good teams... For all we know Flores could just be this times Dick Jauron.
  5. I don’t think his coach at Wyoming is to fault so much as playing at a small high school and then going the JUCO route. Folks seem to forget that Aaron Rodgers went the JUCO route to an air raid offense, and he was set back by that as well.... tweaking his footwork & motion as well as learning to read defenses and run a pro offense.
  6. Made that move years ago (Orlando to Oxford, NC) before moving back to Rochester last year. You’ll love the fall, spring, and early summer. Mid summer is unfortunately like central Florida with no breeze, and morning rain just sits in the clay and turns into steam.
  7. It’s either piss poor preparation or an inability to get the players to take it seriously. I haven’t watched the pats/fish game yet, so I can’t comment exactly. The only other possibility is that Flores tried to scheme around talent deficiencies and Darth Hoodie knew exactly what his former assistant would try. After seeing what Flores did last year I can’t imagine that he dismissed the possibility of a healthy Cam running all day, especially after watching Allen exploit the holes in his D last year.
  8. I would hope not. Aaron Jones had 16 TDs and averaged 4.6 y/c last year.
  9. Without seeing Cam execute that offense in the preseason the players disregarded Newton’s running ability when healthy. 🤷‍♂️ I didn’t watch the game, but on the highlights it certainly seemed that Miami wasn’t prepared for some of the blocking schemes and/ just got manhandled on the edge.
  10. Went out like Pennington and they traded for Favre. Probably would have had a good career with today’s procedures.
  11. They let him out of the corner, but he still has to wear the dunce hat for another month.
  12. Don’t forget that Favre replaced Majkowski who was a probowl QB that got injured. Plus all of Favre’s backups: Brunell, Brooks, Hasselbeck.... As soon as Wolf landed there they made it a policy to “stay drafting quarterbacks.”
  13. He’s also disregarding that Johnson likely slipped to the 7th due to playing at a small school and not doing drills at the combine due to injury. I wonder if his sentiment would change if Johnson had been a 4th or 5th round pick instead of a 7th rounder.
  14. But at the same time you cannot downplay some of the benefits. An example is the Moss TD.... The Jets dropped 8 into coverage, Allen rolled out, pressed the LOS, the LBers left their zones and Moss became an open target. It’s not always a good idea for Allen to scramble and run, but against zone he can open up holes in coverage. Against man he can move the chains with his legs. He’s got to start protecting the ball better though.
  15. I certainly wouldn’t complain if they caught a 15 yarder for a chop block that ended the dudes career. 🤷‍♂️
  16. Honestly, I’d be content with that depending on how it plays out. Particularly in week one against a division rival. Bass is a wildcard right now, and it’d be a relief to know early on that he can hit the high pressure kicks.
  17. That’s the kicker.... Chucky tried to convert him to a RB and the kid couldn’t grasp the transition. He’s a kid that can just go out and make plays though. My money is on Gruden making him think too much or he did some stupid ***** in Vegas.
  18. It’s a chicken vs egg argument, but.... One could say with a reasonable level of confidence that Daboll never had a competent QB to work with either. When Cassel, Matt Moore and Derek Anderson are the best QBs you’ve had to work with the results aren’t going to be stellar, especially when your system relies on above average QB play. Contrast that with Roman’s approach which would probably be functional with Lynn Bowden Jr playing QB. With that in mind, Daboll needs to put up. Allen is in year three and the offense has more than enough talent to rack up points. No excuses going forward. Same goes with Roman and bucking the trend... Year 3-4 is where his offenses start getting predictable. Always worth the risk of ineptitude at QB for a year. It’s damn near impossible to upgrade with middling QB play as you end up 7-9 to 9-7 every year.
  19. I don’t think they’re exactly comparable. Daboll’s passing schemes are likely better and they prefer very different personnel groupings. Roman’s run schemes are the most innovative ground attack since Shanahan shot Terrell Davis to stardom with zone blocking. As a result, Roman’s schemes aren’t reliant upon traditional QB play, but those schemes and his playcalling tend to get figured out by the better defenses after a few seasons. It remains to be seen if Baltimore can overcome what occurred here and in SF.
  20. ^^^ This. Roman is the most innovative run system/play designer the NFL has seen in 30 years. Where he falls short is the passing game and finding ways to make it sync with his run plays. Props to the Ravens for recognizing that weakness and having him work with a passing game coordinator. Seems to have worked with Jackson and the TE talent there. However, I can’t help but wonder if the WR would perform better with someone other than Culley in that role.
  21. Dude killed it in fantasy with 16TDs and 1500 yards from scrimmage? ?‍♂️. Kid makes plays.
  22. I can see a 7th round pick for a team that needs to replace an injured gunner on teams. I seriously doubt any team is going to make a trade based upon his receiving potential though.
  23. I think Fosters likelihood of making the roster is tied to Taiwan Jones health. It’d be nice if we could see who else they’re using at gunner and have a better picture. Unfortunately, we’ve got the covid camp and lockdown on information.
