  1. Can we get Highes and Addison some HGH and summon the same performance from five years ago?
  2. Apparently the game plan for fubar protection is to throw it to the back of the end zone from everywhere on the field.
  3. Nice to see that slide. No need to get greedy in this weather.
  4. We’ll see. It only takes two teams to drive the price up, and Darnold has more natural talent and experience than the majority of 2nd round QBs. He’d be a high level backup for a team like the Bucs or Steelers that could probably be extended on a team friendly deal with performance incentives.
  5. Teams often don’t use a spy when in zone. One thing Allen can do to bust those zones is escape outside and press the LOS to force zone defenders into choosing between coverage and run support. He’s great at this in the RZ - TD pass to Moss - and they should start doing this more often between the 20’s.
  6. With how good Tannehill has been post-Gase I’m sure there’s a few GM/coach combos willing to gamble with a second on Darnold’s regression being all on Gase. Particularly some of the teams with older or journeyman QBs: Colts, Bucs, Saints, Bears, Vikings, Steelers, and possibly the Cowboys if they decide to move on from Dak.
  7. IIRC, they got housed by the saints last year without Henry.
  8. 3.7 YPC happens when teams plan to shut down the RB. Tanny has played excellent football since taking over, but without Henry he doesn’t look as good. Tanny doesn’t perform at the same level of he’s throwing the ball 30-40 times without a run attack.
  9. Just confirmed. Marvin Wilson will refuse to enter the draft if the Jets aren’t committed to ruining Lawrence or Fields careers.
  10. Probably weighing the possibilities between extra money or a championship/winning. Miami looks like they’ll be overpaying to bring him in compared to the Bills and Chiefs, but who knows.
  11. Didn’t jinx them in that Dallas Thanksgiving Game. I’m good with the blues.
  12. Nope. But I was former NY resident. Basically paid the higher tax rate and NY informed VA that I paid taxes on the income and sent a receipt and form...... which was better than SC. I had to delay filing to wait for their documentation.
  13. Can’t speak for the NFL, but I toured as a contract employee and every state I worked in without reciprocity with VA taxed the earnings according to their tax rates. Basically, they take out their chunk and send a “rebate” of the difference between the two rates (home state and earnings state)..... So, if say I lived in NY and earned $1 million dollars in KY then KY would take out 5-6% and I’d still be liable to NY for 2-3% to complete the 8.**% tax rate of NY. Going the other direction, say KY earnings and FL residence, you’d just pay the KY taxes. It gets weird though because reciprocity means that you’re not taxed in the earning state and pay the residential income tax rate on those earnings in your home state.
  14. It would depend on the reciprocity rules with each states tax code. Out of state earnings can be a PITA. I had earnings is 26 states one year.... total nightmare to sort out without a CPA. As a VA resident I can tell you that there was no refund from NY or NJ, but there was reciprocity with PA, KY, DC, etc.
  15. I assume you’re referring to Jamaal Williams? In that case, Bell is a better receiver. However, that’s not the argument I was making. Depends on what you’re using it in. It tends to work best in recipes with baking soda or banana. On that note, silken tofu with baking soda, coconut oil and rice flour works well too. Problem is that the ratios change depending on the recipe.
  16. At this point I’d say that Aaron Jones is better than Bell as a receiver. He’s at the point where he’s now lining up outside and beating corners and safeties with double moves, posts, and deep crossers. Bell might be better with contested catches, but Jones has a serious edge in speed and agility.
  17. I agree with what you’re saying. Particularly about Edmunds. However, that doesn’t change the fact that the replacements aren’t performing well enough to provide the same level of production we got at those positions last season. Plus as poor as Shaq was in previous years he was still better at setting the edge than Murphy. As for H Phillips, he’s not performing at the same level as he was pre-injury. The bolded is probably more important than the talent level. A lot of teams are utilizing some of the successful concepts of McD and Fraziers’ scheme. That means every team in the league has practiced against those coverage concepts, and QBs aren’t confused by what they’re doing anymore. Perhaps the decreasing turnovers were an indicator of this? It also seems like that A gap blitz is now worthless, especially without Alexander as they don’t have a guy at SLB/DE that can drop into coverage as effectively. As for Edmunds.... well, he’s reminding me of Anthony Barr which is bad for your MLB. I’m not sure if they’ll move him, but if they let Milano walk it might make sense to draft a MLB, slide Edmunds to SLB, and find a WLB without injury concerns. IDK. I’m seeing more than a few issues on the defense, and how to best fix it all is above my pay grade.
  18. Lawson...... Setting the edge and keeping contain were/are the strongest parts of his game. This team has been horrible in those areas this year. Combine losing Lawsons containment with Milano being out and Edmunds having a poor season and you have a recipe for big runs and getting exploited by PA. Star being out plays a role here as well since opposing offenses haven’t really been forced to double Phillips and Butler which has freed up pulling guards, TEs, FBs, etc to hammer DEs and LBs outside. Not much on the stat sheet, but eating up two blockers allows the LBers to flow and pursue outside runs.
  19. Aside from Roberts miscues.... Agree. I’ll wait for the all 22, but it certainly seemed that they tried to play a lot of man and shut down Henry which was a bad move without White, Wallace, and Milano. The lack of top tier DL talent, lack of depth at LB, and lack of on field leadership featured prominently in this loss.
