Do you want to meet Brady in Super Bowl?
Buffalo Junction replied to Artem Lipatov's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don’t care about Brady. I’m actually pretty amused that he bailed and left Belichick trying to pick up the pieces. I’d rather have the Packers. Allen dueling Rodgers and coming out on top would be awesome. Plus, Diggs reaction after beating GB in a Super Bowl would be fun to see. Beating Brady would be a nice consolation prize, but I want this team to take down the NFCs best. Beating the Chiefs and Packers anoints the Bills as King of the Hill. -
On defense: Run exotic coverages with zone blitzes on passing downs. They have to find ways to get pressure with 4 rushers. The way to do that is to run stunts and blitzes while dropping the extra rushers into coverage to confuse the offensive line and get Buckner in 1:1 matchups. Easier said than done. Rely on inside pressure and don’t be overly aggressive rushing... If they give Allen running lanes he will take off. Speaking of getting Allen to the ground, GANG TACKLE as he could very well Travis Henry a LBer or DB and steal 20 yards. I’d also consider going into the game with two defensive game plans, so I can switch at any time once Allen/Daboll figure it out. On Offense: Run the ball and utilize play action. Run a lot of counters and test the defense horizontally with jet sweeps. See if you can exploit Edmunds by getting him to take a bad first step. Use screens to take advantage of Bills DEs being overly aggressive, especially if the DBs are playing off the LOS. More than anything else.... win individual matchups on critical downs.

Most of their fans are being cautiously optimistic. Considering how these teams match up they have a right to be. Particularly if the weather neutralizes our passing game a bit with freezing rain. Allen tends to start games with inconsistent play in that particular type of weather. Now, their fans saying that a full on snow game is an advantage for them may want to go look at that GB v Titans game. Dryish snow and swirling wind will let us stack the box.

I was joking around about the injury part of the cycle which begins the process. The only way Fitz could actually usurp Allen is with an Alex Smith or Teddy Bridgewater type of catastrophe. ✊ 🪵. Was trying to say that without saying it. He earned a camp spot and an opportunity to show what he can do next year. Damn good showing, and I hope we don’t need him until OTAs.

We’ll see how it goes. I don’t think Daboll will leave for the Jets as he’s a Buffalo guy and the Jets ownership is a dumpster fire. He’s going to interview for at least one of the other openings. With what he’s done this year and Allen’s improvement Daboll will be getting his shot. At least one team will likely be willing to wait.

Hail Murray a blessing in disguise?

In large part I agree. I do think it made a difference with the playcalling though. Frazier in particular has been more aggressive in the second half since that game; especially in the third quarter. -
What to do with Dawson Knox
Buffalo Junction replied to bobobonators's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But. But. But. Kelce’s drop percentage last year was 10.4% per PFF. Gulp. Say it ain’t so! 😭 Facetiousness aside, TEs usually take a while to get up to full speed when they’re not freaks from a top program. Knox has issues with the easy catches in particular. That can be improved over time... as can his blocking. He may very well never turn into a top TE. Knox does represent a threat when he’s on the field though, and we shouldn’t neglect the reality that DCs view him as a guy that can exploit certain personnel and coverages. Even if he may drop the ball, Knox has to be accounted for which helps draw coverage away from the WRs and RBs. -
True, but we’ve also seen what happens when all three rosters are without their starting QB. The Bills and Packers have losing seasons without Allen or Rodgers. It makes sense to say that both are more valuable to their teams than Mahomes. The big issue is that MVP has turned into a team award instead of an individual award, and a lot of the voters aren’t national press that cover the entire NFL. There are local guys that only cover one team voting, and that seriously hurts Allen. Rodgers has been so good for so long that they’ll vote for him regardless.

Is Moss the best closer we have had since Thurman?
Buffalo Junction replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Forget about the backs. If you really want to pluck a player from the past twenty years that would make our run game and four minute offense beastly..... Add an in his prime Incognito to that left guard spot. Richie and Mongo mauling DTs all game would be a blast to watch every Sunday. -
How do we keep Daboll around?
Buffalo Junction replied to loveorhatembillsfan4life's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m curious to see how Covid protocols and playoff teams will factor into the hires this off season. Playoff teams will likely block in-person interviews until they’re out of the hunt. That might provide an advantage to coordinators on teams that are out of the hunt early. Some of the owners and GMs might not want to wait until after the super bowl to see a HC hire face to face. That last point is really the only way I see Daboll being here next season.... assuming he won’t just take the Pettine route of grabbing whatever HC job he can.
