  1. I’d say the real test comes when the FO talent starts getting poached. A lot of teams drop off after they lose top executives to other teams. That also tends to coincide with second QB contracts.
  2. Hands down the drunkest fan base I ever saw was Packers fans at home games in Milwaukee in the 90’s. Those cats could drink, and the beer prices in the stadium were so low that the drinking didn’t slow down during the game. As for Arrowhead.... saw the craziest parking lot event in my life there. Chiefs/Raiders.... They torched a Raiders fans car in the lot with road flares. 😯
  3. Beane can go BPA because this roster doesn’t have any glaring holes. No other GM in the division has that luxury right now. The Jets and Phins also don’t have the luxury of taking high ceiling developmental prospects of they want to improve this season. This Bills roster can do just that since we’re in a position to draft for the future at most positions. plus.... Allen. We have the best QB in the AFCE, and arguably the second best QB in the entire AFC.... Even if opponents hit on a QB in the draft it will take several years for them to compete at the QB position in this division with McD, Darth Hoodie, Saleh, and Flores scheming defenses.
  4. The one big edge that Singletary has on Moss with pass blocking is his ability to jump cut and plant. There were a few plays this season where the kid jumped across 2-3 gaps, planted, and picked up a blitzer. It’s damn impressive, and if he can build on it could have him taking more passing snaps even with the drops. As for Moss.... well, there was a reason that I was harping about him being the best pass blocking RB in the draft last year.
  5. Don’t see the immediate need. This team is solid at tackle, so he’d be guard competition while grooming to play tackle. That said, I’m always happy with linemen being picked on either side of the ball.
  6. Brown would be a great fit, especially as a guy to learn for a year under Diggs and Sanders. He’s fast although not a pure burner, but the kid can vary speed on deep routes to twist DBs. He has a knack for throttling up and down to set up a DB before high pointing the ball. He’s also not afraid to truck a safety to get a first down. Needs to work on routes, but he’s talented. His personality would also fit well into the locker room.... he along with Carter and Williams have that shut up and out work the competition mindset.
  7. Some folks have a switch where they can turn the crazy on and off.... Others don’t. The guys in the later camp often don’t perform well when they’re behaved off the field as they lose their edge completely. A Smith is likely one of those guys which is why I’d pass unless he signed cheap enough to throw away, especially since he’s older now.
  8. If they’d have grabbed Orakpo instead of Maybin that would be an all time great draft for this team... four pro bowlers with the first four picks.
  9. I’m well aware. I posted about him a fair amount this time last year. My point was that what these guys do in college doesn’t necessarily provide a clear view of how they’ll be used in the NFL... Gruden tried to use Bowden as a RB, and bailed on that effort.
  10. Seahawks Packers NFC championship game modern enough? https://youtu.be/s6aIKpam2xI
  11. Williams intrigues me. He’s one of those guys that didn’t quite perform up to his talent level in college, and I’ve never been able to figure out exactly why. It has me wondering if he just picked the wrong colleges, was slow to develop, or just got stuck behind elite talent at Ohio State and NC: JK Dobbins, Javante Williams, Michael Carter, etc. IIRC, his measurables were pretty similar to Zack Moss. Gonna be interesting to see how he does in camp and preseason.
  12. Bottom line is that Levi has fought for and kept his job. The kid just sticks and plays up to the competition of usurpers. That raises everyone’s game.
  13. Why are so many 💩 💩 on Tonyan? I can understand not wanting to give away a 2nd..... but a TE that’s too fast for LBers to cover, too big for most safeties to cover, excels during scrambling drills and in the red zone, blocks well, and can play teams isn’t something to scoff at. Are y’all still miffed about Clay?
  14. I do think that it’s entirely possible that he takes a short term (1-2 years) deal in a pass heavy offense to get his stats up before the salary cap jumps back up. It’s unlikely, but not entirely unexpected or irrational.
  15. On the flipside.... It’s kind of interesting how many times the Pats, Chiefs, 49ers and Saints have lost draft picks for violating NFL rules and policies. To the OP..... It certainly awards good teams with good management and good players. That said, one big issue with poorly run franchises is that they often fail to identify and/ develop drafted talent. Compensatory picks often keep those better teams from negotiating with high priced FAs. This brings down the cost of FAs in the market and provides the worst teams a better opportunity to sign top FAs if those players want top dollar. If all the offered contracts are equal how many FAs would sign with the Lions or Texans instead of a a super bowl contender? Artificially removing the better run franchises from the market allows talent to spread to worse teams. It also provides compensation to poorly run teams who have a FA bolt for greener pastures. Compensatory picks are not perfect. However, without them there would likely be a return to more salary cap violations, tampering, etc where the better run franchises exploit every conceivable loophole until it’s closed or they get caught. It also allows for player movement before the mid-season trade deadline. Contenders have no problem trading a 2nd round pick for a player in the final year of his deal when they know they’re likely to recoup a substantial chunk of draft capital with a comp pick.
  16. Dressing like you raided my Oma’s closet isn’t necessarily reflective of attitude. In fact many Omas have awesome attitudes and make amazing cookies.
  17. As additional enjoyment... Man it’s fun to watch how aggressive those backs and Dyami Brown are at initiating and finishing blocks. Our very own Antonio Williams pancaked a couple linebackers and DBs in that highlight reel.
  18. A bunch of top 10 picks that haven’t gotten into their extension cap hits yet. For example, Myles Garret has the same cap hit this year as Jerry Hughes.
  19. And at this time last year Lynn Bowden was a QB. 🤷‍♂️. If Hawkins had good vision to go along with his elusiveness there’d be a real difference. At this point he’s an elite athlete that runs into his linemen too often. Nothing wrong with spending a late round pick on a developmental player with speed.
  20. Agree completely. I still hold the opinion that if Fitz had a slightly stronger arm he’d have been a franchise QB. Fitz has all the intangible boxes checked and then some.
  21. I like the idea of KA as a backup to Allen. He’s most likely an upgrade from Barkley when on the field, and won’t break the bank. As I pointed out, he’s uniquely qualified to point out any technical breakdowns JA may have in game due to their friendship and off-season work. My question is whether or not KA has the experience in the league to diagnose and relay information to JA which provides an advantage. We know that Fitz and Dalton have started enough games to recognize schemes and exotic defensive packages. Truth is that after JA gets another year or two of experience that need will be downgraded. We’ll see what Beane does, but I think there’s better value than Barkley on the market this year.
  22. Kyle Allen wasn’t even a thought to me. I’m not sure if he has the experience to really help Allen diagnose what’s going on in game, but he may be uniquely qualified to point out any technical or mechanical issues that Allen has in a game or practice due to working with Josh and Palmer in the off-season.
