  1. They went with a lot more 21, 12, and even a few plays of 22 personnel. Not a lot of room for Beasley when you only put 1-2 WRs on the field. Less room when the WRs they’re leaving on the field are capable blockers, deep threats or runners.
  2. Not concerned yet. This team may not have a top edge rusher, but as a collective they’re shutting down the run and forcing QBs into bad decisions. They’re second in the league in INTs and first in total turnovers. I’ll take an interception over a sack every game.
  3. I suspect it’s largely a result of KC being in contention with the Bills for home field advantage.
  4. The district could likely fund a few programs with yearly sales from Allen merch. 😂
  5. I’m not concerned yet. I think Groot has to find a few counter moves and expand his pass rush repertoire. We should also keep in mind that as bad as the Texans are they do have two first round picks at the tackle spots in Tunsil and Howard.
  6. Plus he got to see what old man Favre looked like on Monday mornings.
  7. Tyler Linderbaum would be perfect. Stick him at guard for a year then bump him over when Morse’s contract expires. Kid an athletic dog that brings pain to the second level.
  8. The guy’s pushing 40, and he’s broken his collarbone twice like that. Dude knows they have a playoff team if he’s healthy…. No need to risk a super bowl run for an out of conference game that won’t influence playoff standing much when you’re in a division with the Bears, Lions, and Vikings. Particularly when you’re up two scores against a pigeon armed QB that’s turned the ball over twice. We’d all be livid as heck right now if Allen had suffered a season ending injury against an NFC opponent running for a first down while up two scores. Additionally, when J Allen is 38 would you rather have him playing like Rodgers & Brady…. or Roethlisberger? All those hits and tough man play adds up over the years. 🤷‍♂️
  9. Pretty good, but they have to make it through the whole season playing well. They dropped off down the stretch last year, and they’ll need to prove that doesn’t happen again once teams have more tape, injuries pile up, etc.
  10. It’s been going on for a while. Usually requires an accurate QB and a good TE though. KC exploits this against Edmunds, as did Fitz and Gesicki. Brady did as well until Gronk retired.
  11. He shrinks the other zones in coverage and it’s difficult to throw over the top of him. His instincts become an issue against the better offenses and QBs though. Coordinator’s can force him to choose between receiving options, and the better QBs can drop the ball in the bucket behind him like Allen did to Fred Warner last year. The latter is particularly evident when he bites on play action. To be fair though, less competent offenses do tend to avoid his area due to his length and range. Honestly, I don’t think we’re having this discussion of Edmunds was still making splash plays like his rookie season. One has to wonder why though, and the OP is a great starting point for a closer look.
  12. Same here, but then I moved out of western NY. Really the only way to have them cooked correctly out of town unless you’re lucky to find a great place or a joint run by a transplant.
  13. Steams in the box with sauce and makes the wings soggy or rubbery. Work around is to order them with the sauce on the side, heat them in an air frier for a few minutes, then toss in the sauce and enjoy.
  14. All you have to do to truly realize this is look at the warnings on kitchen appliances. The “do not put hands inside while opperating” warning on a blender is a pretty good identifier for National stupidity.
  15. I assume they won’t be scheduling the 2 seed vs 7 seed games for MNF. That’d be a serious disadvantage for a 7 seed that gets an upset….. Short week for a game against an opponent coming off a bye
  16. I think they’re likely set for pass rushers if Epenesa and Groot keep balling unless Hughes and Addison are both gone after the season. CB or a 1-tech I could see if the talent falls right. I’m hoping they go hard at fixing guard this off-season. They need a talent influx on the inside.
  17. I agree with that. The question though becomes whether or not they can bring him back for a more modest contract. I wouldn’t scoff if Beane managed to resign Edmunds for something like a 4 year $55M contract, or maybe a bit higher with some “outs” in it. It’ll be interesting to see how that negotiation plays out. If the kid could reliably tip 1-3 passes a game we probably wouldn’t be having this conversation. Just getting his rookie season turnovers reliably would start making him look like a better resigning. It’s just odd that he’s gotten worse at making splash plays every year of his career. I can’t recall ever seeing that before.
  18. Or here’s a novel idea…. Grabbed Nick Chubb in the 1st and used that extra 3rd to grab Fred Warner. Hindsight is great, but I totally understand grabbing the most physically gifted player at a position. Edmunds instincts just aren’t at that extra level. Maybe an off-season of tip drills will help with the turnover production. 🤷‍♂️
  19. 12.5 million is easier on the cap than the 20 million the Darius Leonard is making. Replacing Edmunds with a noticeably better MLB is going to cost serious capital in FA or the draft.
  20. The Raiders didn’t play the same Steelers defense. Watt, Bush, Haden, and Alualu all left the game. That said… Fully agree that Allen and the offense hasn’t played well, and they need to find a solution to their woes. Unfortunately, it may be that the largest part of this offenses issues are poor guard play and Dawkins not being fully recovered from Covid. As for Allen, he needs to get on the same page with his receivers and start connecting on at least the gimmie passes.
