  1. They ran man coverage about 1/3 of the time last year…. and that was with Levi Wallace on the opposite side. With bump and run being Elam’s strong point that could increase with White back. It also allows the defense to be more creative with blitz packages. White can also blanket top TEs (last years Chiefs game) when called on which is a skill set that no one else on the roster has in spades. He also tends to come up with timely interceptions to ice games.
  2. Elon and Bezos are working on it, but first they have to decide who has the biggest….. “rocket”.
  3. Force KC to go for a 2 point conversion….. which only matters if they can’t bleed out the clock
  4. Is McDaniel’s trying to be Allen’s next QB coach?
  5. Jacobs is gonna have to win this game for the Raiders.
  6. I’d actually rather deal with the cold in Fargo or Sioux Falls than Buffalo or Rochester winters. The 20°-35° and humid absolutely murders all the metal in my bones.
  7. I looks like Taylor didn’t change up the offense enough in the off season so it’s become predictable.
  8. Likely in part because he looked like the best pass blocking RB in his draft class. He was stonewalling DEs and dumping blitzers in college.
  9. I think a lot of people reset their bar for Dorsey to Daboll heights after the first two games. Fact of the matter is the Rams and Titans had little to no game tape on Dorsey’s offense and tendencies, and coupled with being new to playcalling in the nfl Dorsey is going to take a little more time to adjust fully. This has certainly been compounded by all the injuries; Gabe, Kumerow, Knox, Morse, Morse’s backups, Bates, Brown, etc. I was fully expecting it to take Dorsey and Allen till the bye week to start really getting a hang of how to utilize all the weapons on a consistent play by play basis.
  10. Time to see if Russ can cook something better than burnt ramen.
  11. I’m having trouble deciding if the highlight of my day is this game, or going to the dentist earlier for a crown.
  12. I wouldn’t be surprised if they grabbed Jimmy G as a placeholder if they win themselves out of solid draft capital. His tenure in NE overlaps with Daboll, so they likely have a familiarity along with Jimmy G having a basic understanding of Daboll’s system/methodology.
  13. Another issue with more traditional screens like the the slip screen is how defenses prepare for Allen. They often place a lot of emphasis on maintaining contain, utilize more zone coverage, keep a spy at the second level, etc. This puts them in an advantageous position for defending against deception off the edges. Allen has burned too many teams with his legs for rushers to just pin their ears back and assume the blood in the water isn’t chum.
  14. The “physically capable” caveat is important. If he loses some agility and/ speed after the ACL then it probably becomes a consideration moving forward, especially if Benford and Elam continue to improve. However, it’s definitely not as big of a concern as it was 30 years ago due to medical advancements. White would probably need an off-season to add some mass though
  15. They may have gotten in his head a bit. He and Dobbins weren’t really able to juke effectively in the second half which lead to additional hits. He may have just decided to cut the loss, not risk a fumble, and move on to the next play. Only person who really knows is Jackson. 🤷‍♂️
  16. The inconsistency with Boger and crew is the biggest issue. Most crews have tendencies (calls RTP, doesn’t call holding, etc) that teams can rely upon to even out the calls. Boger’s crew just seems to me more random with what they see and call which puts the results into question.
  17. And tripping on the defense is ten yards & an automatic first down; IIRC. 🤷‍♂️
  18. There’s an emoji for that.
  19. Better not mess around with the wrong dudes wife in the UAE…. He might end up losing one head or the other.
  20. Teams tend to have at least one guy spying. Might not be a bad idea to run a reverse or something occasionally from a QB sprint or RPO look to add an extra wrinkle. Might help to bring back some of those McK jet sweeps and mix Knox into that mix as well. Give the defenses a few other opportunities to hesitate going forward.
  21. Honestly, it’d be kind of amusing having them be the last undefeated team and knocking them off…. It’d be the most bittersweet champagne they’ve ever popped. They wouldn’t be able to celebrate without pooping on their own franchise. 😏 Be even better if we go on to a SB victory and send them more champagne or a box of cigars.
  22. Closest they can come is superheating the field house to 100°+
  23. ^^^ THIS ^^^ I used to pull tobacco in Carolina heat every August on the family farm. It’s absolutely brutal, but you get accustomed to physically exhausting labor in 90°+ heat in full sun and no breeze after early morning thunderstorms. You get conditioned to it, but anyone who isn’t wilts after an hour or two. It’s even worse in the barns which are just as humid but 120°+. There’s a reason why most of those farmers hire migrant workers to work those fields…. Most Americans don’t want to do that work, but that brutal farm work is also a reason why Allen usually performs well in those conditions. In any case, those Miami advantages disappear later in the season and into the playoffs. The Dolphins have no way to prepare for Buffalo weather from November through the playoffs. They cannot acclimate to snow, sleet, freezing rain, sub-zero temps, or the ice cold moisture filled lake wind. It evens out, but for the sake of fairness and health it probably would be a good idea for the league to schedule the first game in B-lo and the second in Miami. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Dolphins drop this Bengals game due to carryover exhaustion.
  24. Don’t provide that dude with instruments to violate our players….
