  1. Lord knows, but I’m sure it’s related to Bobby Johnson no longer being a member of the coaching staff….
  2. I like Jackson and Douglas. I am kind of curious if they could nab Douglas for cheap while GB is dealing with their current chaos.
  3. In general i agree with this with a caveat or two. It seems with the additions of Kromer, Saffold and Howard that Dorsey may be going in a slightly different direction than Daboll; at least with run scheme and personnel packages. Time will tell, but imo Bobby Johnson failed to bring cohesiveness to the unit and develop talent. Kromer should make a big difference there and Saffold is likely here in part due to his experience with Kromer (two of his best seasons). Still, I won’t be upset if they bring in another starter or go Oline early in the draft. I actually expect it.
  4. Having two D line players that require a double team should definitely create higher win percentages in the passing game. Combine Miller with Oliver and viable 1 techs and this D now has three guys on an any given down that can take on and/ beat double teams…. Edmunds is in a put up or shut up year as he shouldn’t be getting raked by combination blocks perpetually this upcoming season (barring injuries) The teacher aspect is seriously underrated. Addison certainly assisted there, but Miller just has more juice. If Rousseau or any other DEs take a leap next year the pass rush could get serious results. Having an experienced guy that can relate QB tells to younger players on the field will be a bonus as well. Not to mention…. How he studies film. IIRC agent income is capped by the nfl at 3% of total money payed out to the player as it happens. Signing bonus is immediate, workout and roster bonuses occur in the year assigned, etc. When the player receives real cash the agent benefits.
  5. Now folks are gonna have to spell out a name instead of writing McK. 😂
  6. For sure. He’s still under 30 though, so the total money will be significant…. Guaranteed money…. Who knows.
  7. Lord knows. He did come back for the playoffs. Had a good game with several pressures and a sack. Being a premium position he’ll get bank.
  8. He’s 6’4 270ish. Not small at all. He could fill the Alexander role. Not sure if played with his hand in the dirt in Baltimore before that.
  9. He’s certainly not the best guard, and he’s been inconsistent over the course of his career…. However, Williams is certainly capable of blanking a pro bowl pass rusher at RG or RT when he’s firing in all cylinders. Definitely not the worst contract on the roster. Particularly when he eliminates the need for a swing tackle.
  10. My lord… Props to Irsay for hoodwinking Snyder during an evening of hookers and blow. 👏🏼
  11. I think Marquez Valdes-Scantling is in play if he hits the market (likely after Rodgers extension and Adams franchised). This staff had MVS in for a private workout before the draft, he’d be a cheaper option if available, 6’4 with a 4.37 40 time, and he’s a solid blocker with experience in each WR position. McB &co seem to like revisiting guys in FA that they scouted coming out. Lockett certainly fits the mold of what this offense looked for under Daboll, but MVS adds a speed/size/blocking element that isn’t on the roster right now. Plus…. He and McKenzie combined would cost less than some of the other options like Lockett.
  12. Clever title. Dark humor and empathy run hand in hand. As someone missing pieces due to trauma I empathize…. At the same time…. Gotta admit that one of the most ridiculously funny things I’ve ever done is burp a colostomy bag on the CN tower elevator
  13. IIRC, they’ve basically done this twice with Diggs already; once right after the trade, and again last season. Basically converted his salary to cash which is part of why we haven’t heard peep from Diggs about having a lower salary than his contemporaries. Cash in hand coupled with winning allows for patience and cooperative environments.
  14. My other is Za’Darius Smith. With the Packers cap situation and the emergence of Rashan Gary, Smith will likely be available if they resign Rodgers and/Adams. By trading or cutting him they save $15.6 million in cap space. He Z Smith can easily fill that Alexander role that this team has been missing.
  15. Not worth what they were paying him, but he’s still a “decent” player. Dudes not a fringe talent even at 31. That said, I don’t think anyone will pay him more than $3-$4 million.
  16. I’ve gone to more games as the broadcasts have changed…. You never see the whole play on tv anymore, even on kickoffs.
  17. Exactly. It’s all about value and ROI….. What would he want for a contract? Is that a better value than other available options?
  18. He may very well get moved. I’m watching the Rodgers situation as well since Za’Darius Smith and others could be on the market for even less compensation if they retain A-A-Ron.
  19. I prefer these real early mocks though. They haven’t been tainted by the combine numbers, so the expected rankings are off college performance. That’s the value I see in them, but team needs are worthless in them. I prefer these real early mocks though. 20. I’m not opposed to Campbell or Peterson. I’m actually intrigued by what happens in GB this year too. They may end up letting some really good players go, so a trade for Za’Darius Smith (saves GB 10+ mil in space) or something might not be out of the question. Particularly after Rashan Gary stepped up in his absence.
  21. Reggie White was important, but he’s not the guy that took that D into overdrive. That season was the first where Gilbert Brown (NT) was healthy, they added a Eugene Robinson in FA, and Leroy Butler started wearing contacts (seriously). What’s equally notable is what they did on offense….. adding Andre Rison, Desmond Howard, and drafting three starting Olinemen.
  22. Gotta start somewhere. It’s also likely that the whole family knows more about NFL defenses than anyone one this message board. His dad’s uncle basically invented many of the modern defensive schemes like the big nickel.
  23. Relax y’all. This is just a method the nfl uses to sort out who gets randomized drug tests.
