we will start the year 2-5...
Typical TBD Guy replied to Justice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We need to figure out how to beat the Pats first. -
Interesting. I kind of like this "any given Sunday" theme with his picks. He did finish 10-6 with it last week. However, there are 3 games on his list that I ABSOLUTELY disagree with. The Patriots, the Steelers, and the Chargers. Other than those three games, Godspeed Mr. Prisco. Godspeed.

Some stats to think about ...
Typical TBD Guy replied to TravelingDad48's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think Traveling Dad was on an anti-Willis crusade. He was just posting FWIW stats. Amazing how some people have to start fights about everything here. I guess internet message boards are a good way to blow off steam rather than kicking the dog or punching the wife??? -
Ok, what would be the perfect scenario
Typical TBD Guy replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll clarify this a little more: 1. Jets MUST lose to the Patriots AND at least one other game. 2. Denver, if they finish with at least 10 wins, automatically has a better overall AFC record over a 10-6 Bills team. Therefore, they win the tiebreaker. So yes, we need Denver to lose at least 2 (any 2) games. Bear is correct with the Jax and Baltimore scenarios. -
Faulty logic. Disco lasted how long? A year? Two? Rap music is 20+ years and going strong. IMO, there are some really good rappers out there who even the old people on this board might like. Kanye West, Outkast, and Naz are a few mainstream ones that come to mind. The current problem with rap, however, (like rock music as well) is that MTV is showcasing its genre with some of the worst crap I've ever heard (Ja Rule, 50 Cent, yes even the "great" Snoop Dogg, Fat Joe, so many more), thus only strengthening its negative stereotype to the already skeptical masses. Take punk rock, for example. It's like saying you hate punk rock because you listened to Good Charlotte and you thought they suck. Or heavy metal. It's like saying you hate heavy metal because you know of Papa Roach and he sucks. Or pop music. It's like saying you hate pop because you've listened to Ashlee Simpson and you think she sucks. And so on... Wow, this thread is awful. I don't know why I even clicked on it, let alone contributed to it. Good music is in the ear of the beholder. Even if you enjoy listening to yourself put together a string of consecutive farts together, and you want to call that music, and you want to record your string of farts and send it to Motown for a hot record label...why not?

Losman not mentioned, and I love it!!!

Why do you guys want the media attention so badly? I'd rather keep us a national secret, right up until the Super Bowl victory! -
Yikes! Imagine Banta snapping to Lindell for the potential game-winning field goal...we better be up by 20 in the fourth...

Can we also get the stevestojan filter back on? Please?
-
If both the Pack AND the Seahawks lose this Sunday, I am going to stevestojan in my pants. The NFC's utter incompetence is really starting to piss me off. By next Monday, we could conceivably see one 9-5 and two 8-6 AFC teams looking at the playoffs from the outside - while two NFC 7-7 teams sit on top of their division. Unbelievable. Can SOMEBODY in the NFC help us out here???
-
All obvious and redundant, but I feel the need to say them anyway: 1. We need to score first. 2. Drew Bledsoe needs to do a better job of distributing the ball around to players other than Moulds. 3. Schobel and Kelsay need to generate their own pass rush so we can focus all our would-be blitzers on the Bengals' eligible recievers. 4. Win the turnover battle.

Finally I will answer the question
Typical TBD Guy replied to Rudyc80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for clearing that one up for me, Rudy! Until now, I couldn't explain why your avatar was making my reproductive unit stiff. -
Price is definitely a free agent this offseason. Also, I thought Ron Edwards was a free agent. I guess he signed an extension while I was asleep?

man, it sucks having to hope other teams
Typical TBD Guy replied to nodnarb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Jags should lose in Green Bay this Sunday. The Ravens should lose in Indianapolis and in Pittsburgh over the next 2 weeks. Hopefully, the Broncos will complete their second half collapse and lose in KC and in Nashville over the next 2 weeks. Now if we also beat the Bengals, this entire scenario will allow us to control our own destiny by as early as 4pm, Dec. 26 against the 49ers. Just trying to be positive! -
Time to root for the Dolphins
Typical TBD Guy replied to KurtGodel77's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You can cheer for whomever you want, of course, but I'd recommend following reason rather than emotion on this one. We haven't been to the playoffs since 1999 and haven't won a playoff game since 1995. We're overdue. I want the Steelers resting their starters in Week 17 because that gives us the best chance of winning that game and gaining a wild card slot. You want tough games? The playoffs will be loaded with tough games for ya! -
Go to nfl.com for the updated stats.

Anybody see that jackass
Typical TBD Guy replied to Tux of Borg's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not for this reason. -
Well, statistically speaking, they ARE dimmer. Those games that didn't go our way have given us less breathing room for the weeks ahead. And if one of the teams ahead wins a game they're "supposed" to lose...then we're really !@#$ed.
-
We need some MAJOR help next week now. Our playoff hopes are pretty dim at this point.

Dead Weight to Be Trimmed OFF
Typical TBD Guy replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1. Wire: He's a mediocre backup SS, but a very good special teamer. I hope he stays. 2. Reese: He'll be a free agent this winter, so there's no need to cut him. He won't be resigned. 3. Lindell: Agreed. 4. Henry: Unless we can get a day one pick for him (unlikely), we're better off keeping him around for next year. It's nice to have a good #2 RB, especially one who will be playing with such an enormous chip on his shoulder. 5. Bannan: I hope he stays. He's a good backup G, backup DT, and special teamer. Your bubble list: 1. Denney: He's actually a solid backup, especially against the run. I also like him on field goal units because of his enormous wingspan. He's still cheap while under contract, so I bet he stays next year. 2. Reed: Maybe I'll get some serious stevestojan for this, but I still say he has major potential. This is the type of player I can see us cutting and then later watching a team like the Pats develop him into a star. I hope we let him play out his contract with the Bills. In other words, give him 1 more year. It's the least we should do for such a high draft investment. 3. Kevin Thomas: He's a respectable nickel/dime back. I can't see him getting cut. CB depth is vital for any NFL team. 4. Matthews: Agreed. 5. Pucillo, Tucker, Lawrence Smith: I say keep the best 2 here as backups and cut the third. I like all of them as backups, but I don't want any starting at LG next year. -
Bills win out - THEY ARE IN THE PLAYOFFS

Question for you old guys here...
Typical TBD Guy replied to Typical TBD Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, a combined 5 winning seasons over a 21-year period (1967-87) I never started getting into the Bills until 1987 (I was only 6 years old then), so I definitely lucked out. I have a lot of respect for all you old-timers... -

Typical TBD Guy replied to Typical TBD Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks a lot for that info, Lori! You are definitely one of the best posters around here. FYI, I'm trying to compile a booklet that's more "personal," i.e. including pics and memorabilia from specific games our family went to, so a generic media guide or that Randy Schultz book won't suffice... -

1967-1986 was a 20-year period he'd like to forget!
