  1. And the Coy Wire haters thought they knew better than Bobby April . No need to name names...you know who you are...
  2. I'm not sure why we're bashing Culpeper so much when our own JP has looked like RJ so far.
  3. Chris V = Troy V by season's end.
  4. The only worthy point made by DCTom in that linked post was that we should all STFU out of respect for T80's children. I have no problem with that, and would suggest only a silent thread or a thread to start up an anonymous donation to T80's family?
  5. Well, apparently there's very little room for misinterpretation of the facts surrounding this case: T80 was a guy with a history of domestic violence and adultery who killed his wife and himself. His cheery on-line persona and extensive knowledge of Bills football doesn't take away those facts. If some of you are unable to take a stand and say that T80 was a bad person, then at least have some moral continuity: never take a stand against ANYONE EVER. Because there are always "mitigating" circumstances behind every murderer and rapist and serial killer and wife beater...mental illness, bad childhood, lack of impulse control, etc... These "mitigating" circumstances may help us understand why these things happen and can help us prevent future tragedies, but they NEVER justify or excuse the behavior.
  6. Probably because Baker sucks, and because a healthy Vincent is better than Baker, and because safety talent equivalent to Baker can be easily found on the free agent market at any time (see: Leonhard, Jim). Too much Baker fellating on this board. Didn't anyone else see him get scorched in the preseason? Dude just doesn't fit the cover 2 D well. He's almost as bad as Wire....
  7. Reason #9 should be reason #1. It's what started it all in the first place, and is far more embarrasing than 4 straight Super Bowl losses could ever be.
  8. Barry Sanders was the most talented halfback in the history of the NFL. If he had played on better teams, none of us today would be questioning the above statement. He would have had the personal stats to back it all up. But unfortunately, nowadays you always hear people say "well so-and-so wasn't THAT great because he never won a Super Bowl ring." I !@#$ing HATE that reasoning. Football is a team sport played by at least 22 guys plus a kicker and punter, not to mention the influence of the coaching staff. One guy can't do it all.
  9. Plus, I don't think much changed with our scouting team once TD left. And those guys couldn't spot a talented OL draft prospect if he was standing in the war room with 'em.
  10. Nice one, Mr. Finkle. There are a lot of kettles around here making fun of that 12-year-old pot.
  11. But ARE you done? Are you really? What was your point here? If you wanted to talk about the OL's crappiness or JP's crappiness, you could have easily done that without having to refer to Drew. FYI, JP played very well considering the lack of an OL. Numbers don't tell everything, but an 86.8 passer rating and 0 interceptions against a tough Belichick defense was not at all bad. Drew's passer rating vs. the Patriots? 80, 61.6, 83.9, 34.7, 83.6, 14.3 So why is JP not being bashed like Drew was? It's been mentioned repeatedly to you, but one more time might do the trick: DREW WAS A 10TH SEASON VETERAN UPON JOINING THE BILLS, WHILE JP JUST COMPLETED HIS 9TH CAREER GAME START.
  12. You don't get it, do you? It's not about the Patriots vs. the Bills. Your coach just !@#$ed with a guy's season - and possibly NFL career - by picking him off waivers with no intention of keeping him beyond the first week. There's an unwritten code of honor in the pro business that Belichick hasn't grasped. Our current Bills coaching staff, despite whatever happens on the football field this season, have at least treated their players with respect throughout the preseason - as something more than a collection of impersonal cogs in a machine. But you're not going to change your mind on this subject. You're a troll whose team can never do wrong. You will probably beat us tomorrow and may very likely win a weak division, but your team is clearly on the decline. The Freddie fiasco may or may not be further evidence that Belichick can sense his team slipping. And when the death of your "dynasty" is complete, I will enjoy watching all you Pats fans quit following your team like you did during most of your franchise's history.
  13. The question now is: did Smith get a hold of the Patriots playbook before getting cut (assuming it's the "real" one )? Because if I were Smith, and I had that playbook, I'd be calling up Jauron now and getting even with Belichick. The Bills may have cut Smith as well, but at least they did it with dignity. PS: Belichick is a d-bag off the football field as well. Messing with some other man's wife? Remember that little offseason news clip? I hope the guy dies of terminal cancer real !@#$ing soon.
  14. Dude also led the league in "hits," I believe.
  15. Seems like you lean towards the libertarian side of political issues, as do I and many others in ths forum. (in my best South Park voice...) Good for you!
  16. My sentiments exactly. We have plenty of cap space next year. Clements and McGahee need to be signed long term.
  17. He's on injured reserve, actually.
  18. Includes all those on roster, PS, and IR. Newbies, take note: start learning these names so you can begin bashing incessantly and accumulating TBD credibility. 10. Kevin Everett 9. Ryan Neufeld 8. Joe Burns 7. Nate Clements 6. Josh Reed 5. Chris Villarial 4. Daimon Shelton 3. Troy Vincent 2. Kelly Holcomb 1. Coy Wire Don't stop bashing these guys. Don't EVER stop. Beat these dead horses until they're bleeding from the ears. Beat them like you do your d!ck as you masturbate to young women dancing on youtube videos. Beat them like Liam Ezekiel beat Miro.
  19. Agreed. Guy had 1 bad day. Big deal.
  20. Why not just bench Vincent? Why cut him? And I don't think Vincent is nearly as bad as he looked last year. Our entire secondary went from great to craptacular in 1 season. My suspicions are that it had more to do wth Gray, the loss of Pat Williams, the loss of Spikes, and a generally inconsistent pass rush from the DL. Also, Vincent is in his mid-30's, but a lot of great safeties still played at a high level into their late 30's. If Simpson wants to start, let him earn it by wowing the coaches in practice and mop-up duty.
  21. Monica? She's certainly got the girth, but lacks the footwork to play at the next level.
  22. I think you're being too optimistic with Gandy, Villarial, Shelton, Kelsay, and Anderson. All 5 range from mediocre to - at times - terrible. Also, I'd like to welcome everyone to take a hard, honest look at TD's 5 draft classes. 2003 was an excellent draft; TD deserves the credit for that one. But outside the 1st 2 rounds of 2001 and the 1st round of 2004, the rest of his picks were total garbage. In particular, check out his picks on the d-line: 3 starters (Schobel, Kelsay, and Anderson) but only 1 (Schobel) worth a damn....IMO. Now check out the OL: after 5 years of drafting, all that remains from TD's drafting is a backup C/G (Preston). You HAVE to find some good players outside the first 2 rounds, and with the exception of Crowell and McGee - TD couldn't do it. So now he's gone. Oh yeah, and then there's that head coaching thing. And the 31-49 record.
  23. OK, that's a valid point I will concede. And I'll admit that I more sensitive to the Wire bashing than others because I've personally been able to chat it up with the guy every preseason since 2002. What I haven't yet conceded, however, is the idea that Coy Wire isn't good on special teams. "ST ace" is probably a little too generous of a term I'd only reserve for guys like Steve Tasker and Mark Pike, but nevertheless I think he's good at it. If you asked April and our coaching staff, I bet you they'd agree more with my assessment than yours. If Wire is still on the team when Bowen returns healthy, maybe you should go back to your special teams game film and see what you're missing.
  24. Way to totally miss my point. Your reading comprehension skills flat out suck my giant balls tonight. I never said he should make the team because he's a nice guy; I AGREE with you that Wire should be cut once Bowen is healthy. My point is that because Wire's such a nice guy, he shouldn't be attacked with the frequency and magnitude that he gets from this board. Some even called out Wire as being stupid because he can't figure out which players to cover...even though Mr. Stanford's IQ is probably much higher than most of the dead-end job owning, overweight wife-banging, dumb!@#$ simpletons that permeate this board with their tired cliches and useless football observations. No one thinks Wire is good. Point taken. But no one shuts the !@#$ up about it, either. It's called dead-horse beating. But it's the worst form of dead-horse beating: beating a horse that's irrelevant. Because Wire's impact on this team is mostly irrelevant. It's a strange pathology, that's what it is. Picking a random back-up Buffalo Bill and bashing him relentlessly. Even the !@#$ing newbies on this board are chiming in, bashing Wire so to fit in around here. Hey, let's start a poll wondering why Wire didn't get cut! Throw in a couple choices about Wire having naked pics of someone, and bam! Instant comedy! Huh huh huh. Want a legitimate Bills player to make fun of every other post? Why not Chris Kelsay? Guy is in his 4th year starting... he will probably do more to ruin this D than any other player. At least the Mormon dude is tall and can bat down passes thrown by the opposing QB which neither will ever get within 5 yds of... Last thing: anyone who thinks Baker and Leonhard outperformed Wire in coverage the last two preseason games was probably smoking something illegal. Baker: nice guy, can't cover sh--. Leonhard: nice guy, likewise. Two cuts that were overdue. Weren't drafted for a reason. At least Wire can play special teams.
  25. Not to mention the fact that we don't NEED the money. We're somewhere around 8-10 million under the cap, and there are no more expensive, can't-miss free agents left out there.
