  1. Heard the renderings had too much blue light last night and need a recovery week. Perhaps next week.
  2. This. The Bills don’t make mistakes like this. They wouldn’t risk their entire organizations reputation for a rookie punter. They must be iron clad in his innocence.
  3. No, we have the best secondary in the NFL. Poyer hurt his arm, Hyde is perfectly fine. Benford and Elam look solid against 1st string offenses already
  4. I think the biggest beef people had with it was the salary cap concerns which were obviously overblown given the Von Miller signing. We lost every player except Mckenzie ( assuming Star is a post June 1) - so basically nailed that part. Von is even better than Jones so I underestimated that move. OJ Howard isn't Gronk but its a heck of a signing also. This wasn't a prediction, it was more of a "wouldn't" it be cool if this happened and said it was a fantasy. I was having fun, and people take things way to seriously.
  5. My bad, so it wasn't Chandler Jones and Gronk, but so far we have only signed VON MILLER and OJ Howard. Blah blah blah cap this cap that realistic........
  6. Plenty of reporting that cap could go up 25 million next year. We all forget the cap came down during covid by about 20 million. NFL is king, the cap is going to go way up in the next three years.
  7. Agreed, we need to find something right in the middle of staying put and the Rams.
  8. The thing that people aren't considering is how much the cap was affected during the covid seasons. With that in mind the correction is going to be very large in the other direction. The NFL is king, revenue is up, TV deals are massive, fans coming back full force the cap is going to go up by larger margins than we have seen in the past. Pure speculation, but I think Beane can be a little more aggressive than we think and ride the cap up in the coming 2-3 years. Locking in key players now for the next 3-4 years is going to look like a bargain at the start of the 2024 season. You want your GM and coach to play coy, say there isnt much money, etc. I don't believe a single thing coming out of OBD right now. https://firstsportz.com/nfl-twitter-reacts-to-the-crazy-hike-in-salary-cap/
  9. All great questions. I am struggling to find the article I read where we can make room for about 26-27 million in cap space this year through cutting some players, extending others, asking some for pay cuts. See if we can sign Chandler for 15 mill a year, we dont worry about extending DK (he is a luxury one year rental at 4 million), and we sign Gronk to a one year deal. Cut Klein, Matekavich, Haack for example. Restructure Diggs- give him an extension and lower his cap hit for this season Extend Morse to lower the cap hit for this season Release Star after June 1 Trade Cole Beasley Extend Hyde as well and lower the cap hit for this season Williams gets a pay cut Feliciano gets cut Extend Tre White and lower his cap hit Wallace doesnt come back, same with Phillips, and same with Mckenzie unfortunately. The game here is to lower the cap hit for next season and ride the salary cap up in the coming years. Of course we are borrowing from the future, but we can afford to do that in this window we have now. I don't believe for a second Beane is going to sit back and be conservative, and he is saying all the right things. Joe Schoen let the cat out of the bag a little bit saying that we will have room.
  10. Who said no chance? I said to have a shot. We are in win now mode. If I told you all the moves that the Rams would make before last year you wouldn't have believed that either. Nothing in that post is out of the question. We might be the top FA destination in the NFL. Josh is the best player in the league. DK might be a fantasy but the rest of that post is do-able. Jones is a FA, Gronk is a FA, and we move up in the draft to get Davis (again might be hard to do but still do-able). The Bills were arguably the best team in the league last year and are certainly contenders, but the AFC is STACKED next year. Why be conservative for 4 years just to be conservative forever. We have very few holes to fill so we can afford to go all in on a few guys. No, but he is on the final year of his deal and I doubt he wants to re-sign without a top tier QB. Seahawks can trade him now and get value, or lose him after next season for nothing.
  11. These are the moves that need to be made to have a shot at the championship. All doable. Certainly a fantasy but hear me out. Send a 2023 first round pick to Seahawks for DK Metcalfe Sign Chandler Jones Give up as many picks as it takes to move up for Davis this year. Then find picks and trade up again to get a top CB. Who cares if we only draft two guys. Then we let Phillips walk, Levi walk, Beasley, Mckenzie, Feliciano, Starr all gone. Restructure Diggs and extend, restructure Tre and extend, extend and lower cap hit for Edmunds, extend Morse, extend Oliver with a lower cap hit for next season. We would have almost no holes and might even be able to sign Gronk.
  12. The whole point of having a team with process guys is so that they can assimilate one or two super talented guys that may not be 100% process guys.
  13. Especially because DK would be cheap this year, cap is going up next year. If we lose him after a season so be it.
  14. Sign me up for this. Are we going to get a better player at number 25? Trading picks for proven players seems like a no brainer when you have a window to win a championship.
  15. I agree, lets open up a massive hole right in the middle of our defense. Just because Edmunds plays a different style (likely one that Frazier and McD like) doesnt make him a bad player. We need a true run stopping one tech- we haven't had one for the last few years. Plug someone in the middle that can actually stop the run and watch how dominant Edmunds becomes. I dont think anyone on this board knows ( I certainly dont) what is being asked of Edmunds in this defense. Is he supposed to be a guy that plays downhill, is he supposed to just clog up passing lanes because he is so big and athletic, is he struggling because we dont really have a true run stopping defensive line? I suspect our coaches know the answers to all of these questions. I would not be shocked if Edmunds is extended.
  16. With the giants in rebuild mode. Two year deal for Saquon. Amazing compliment to Singletary and a home run hitter. Might eventually replace singletary if he stays healthy
  17. Today was very exciting. As are all NFL trade deadlines.
  18. Tua doesn't have the raw physical ability that Josh has. Tua, if all the stars aligned and he is the best version possible is in the same mold as Drew Brees. Very accurate and can pick your defense apart, but cant make ALL the throws and struggles when things break down. Josh always had the physical tools to be a transcendent player if he could put them together. It's a tough comparison.
  19. Didnt read through all the comments, but I think the best option is to do three packages. Full Sunday Ticket, Team Package, buy games a la carte. I would pay $5.99 to watch a game that isn't nationally televised. It makes too much sense.
  20. Yeah, the Rams are a really really good team. Seahawks and Packers had their hands full in their wins too. It is a tough league to win in and we are 3-0. This may have been the perfect win because it serves as a point of emphasis going forwards that you are NEVER "safe" with the lead. It exposed some of our flaws and emphasized some of our strenths. A lot to build on. Our offense is going to continue to improve and hopefully we keep the throttle down all 60 minutes.
  21. Yeah wayyy to soon to give up on knox. Made a great grab over the middle and the ball was ripped out. Not a drop on his part. Give him a few more weeks (after recovering from the concussion) and he will be rolling
  22. Im so jacked up. Just dropped a big league fist pump in my office. Don't care!
  23. No doubt we need to stop the run better, it was just nice to see the goal line stand, plus a few plays where Edmunds stood Chubb up by himself in the hole. It wont all be solved over night, but it seemed it was improving as the game went on and it was nice to see Edmunds hit Chubb hard.
  24. I am very dissapointed in our offensive output as is everyone else on this board. There are larger issues that need to be solved to get the offense moving consistently game in and game out. HOWEVER, we were three or four plays away from having a completely different conversation today. Below are a couple thoughts that give me a lot of optimism moving forwards- 1) Edmunds showed up BIG as did Milano. This pair is going to continue to improve and I thought this might have been one of Edmunds best games (outside of the first drive). The defense is figuring things out slowly. Cleveland did have the game winning drive, but teams are going to score points in this league. Holding any team under 20 is a win. 2) Dawson Knox played a great game as well. He has a lot of speed and seems to get open often which is a good sign going forwards. 3) Robert Foster sighting. He was targeted a couple times and had a nice reception- hopefully we will see more of that. 4) Singletary, although used sparingly, continues to prove that his yards per touch average is not a fluke. He doesn't get pushed backwards by tacklers either which has been surprising. He always seems to push through the line and solo tacklers to pick up a few extra yards. Offense needs to put together a couple good games and all will be right with the world. Hopefully Josh will hit a deep ball to Foster or Brown against Miami to give him some confidence going forwards. If Knox catches the pass on the first drive and the pass to Singletary isn't tipped on the last drive, I think we win and we can address the challenges optimistically. With that said, the offense would have had a bad performance even if we won and that needs to change if we are going to win games against quality opponents down the stretch. For what its worth.....
  25. I think a lot of people are taking their frustration about the offense and projecting it onto the team as a whole. The defense is playing very very well. The run defense has been a little rough the last few games, but aside from the first drive yesterday, the defense is playing lights out. If we were putting 24-27 points on he board and 7-2, no one would be nit picking the defense.
