Bills Coverage Stuff that is Making me Grit my Teeth
Ghs24mike replied to Beck Water's topic in The Stadium Wall
Was listening to Joe Marino on the Locked On Bills podcast- he had a guest on one of his most recent shows who talked about Diggs. It brought to light, with data, something that I was feeling, but couldn't put my finger on. Diggs has lost the ability to separate down the field. To be fair he was never an elite speed guy, but the data shows that past 10 yds Diggs was not getting any separation, couldnt stack DB's, etc. Long story short, the argument that Diggs was getting a ton of attention which opened the game up for everyone else down the stretch wasn't true. Sure there was the occasional missed throw by Josh, but that happens to every QB. He simply isn't the same guy he was when he came to Buffalo. If Beane makes the right moves in FA and the Draft to bring in a young receiver, with speed, I believe Josh will play even better next year than this year. He will put to bed all the arguments and the Bills will be improved on Offense.- 51 replies

I dont see it that way at all. Upgraded at WR2 with Curtis Samuel CB is arguably better with a full year of Douglas and Benford LB is much improved with Milano back OL and DL will be virtually the same. Kincaid with another year is better, same with RB The only wild cards are WR and Safety (which I am not concerned about at all with McDermott) Grab one of the better WR's ( or draft 2 WR's) and we could be better next year than we were this year plus tons of cap space next season.

I would move next years first and this years first for one of the top 3 receivers in this draft for sure. We are arguably 1-2 players away from being top contenders. WR2 plus the ability to take over for Steph is on the top of Beans list

The Bills will be better in 2024 and everyone overreacted

Bills must think McGovern is a suitable replacement for Morse Poyer and Hyde had lost a step. I anticipate our safeties will be better this year. White hasnt played in 2 years. Really doesnt change anything We will more than make up for Davis in the draft Floyd might be the only piece that we "lost"- but a 90% Von this year replaces what he did. So yes, with those moves, another year in both systems, Milano coming back, and Kincaid and Bernard taking another step yes they will be better. -
Do The Bills Have Enough "Elite" Talent?
Ghs24mike replied to BillsFan130's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think we really need 1 or 2 more elite players, which is why I am advocating for team move way up in the draft in for elite WR. We are one WR, and one DB/Safety away from being elite. Offense - Josh, Diggs, Cook, Kinkaid, WR2 is a very solid group Defense- Oliver, Jones, Bernard, Milano, ( maybe Von if he returns to form), one more stud in the secondary, and cant forget Rousseau All those guys aren't elite but they are at least very good players. -
It's a paradox because the more he has, the more discipline he has to have. Easy to say no to things you cant get When you can get anything you want in the world, its harder.

Someone that I don’t think is getting any publicity is Michael Thomas. He is a star when healthy*. Saints are going to cut him to free up space. He just turned 30 but has almost no mileage from the last three seasons due to injury. Could see a 2 year or even 3 year deal that is reasonable. He catches absolutely everything that is thrown his way and at 6’3 he gives us that red zone threat we really haven’t had.

The Bills can restructure his contract if they signed him. Also, elite players help win Superbowls. Henry is a top 3 back in the league, paired with Josh, Diggs, Knox, etc. our offense gets very scary. People think Henry was good with zero semblance of a passing game, imagine teams having to plan to stop those Bills. It can be true that we would get way more value out of his 11m per year than the Titans ever did. This doesn’t mean he would have more yards, TDs, etc with the Bills but that his presence would mean more because of everything else that needs to be accounted for. why is everyone so scared of the CAP? We can get 50 million under the cap without doing much at all
-
Exactly, adding Henry makes our offense even more dangerous. the combo of him and Cook would be devastating for defenses to account for. people act like they are spending their own money on the roster. The cap is mostly a myth, we can sign him if we want

Diggs unfollows Buffalo, follows Cowgirls 🤷♂️

This isn’t nearly as bad as I thought. -

Yeah, it’s not ideal. Losing Diggs would hurt, but not sure it would equate a huge step back. If we lose Edmunds and Poyer there is significant cap space with other restructures. Bring in a top Veteran for 2 years on a reasonable contract (OBJ anyone) Bring back Beasley and run it with OBJ, Gabe, Shakir, and Beasley. Draft a burner in the draft and let’s go -

I have LOVED Diggs on this team. I am not one to think IG stuff really matters, but it’s also not nothing. depending on how the Poyer and Edmunds deals work out, would Beane entertain the dead money hit for good draft picks we can use to replace him? definitely not out of the realm. remember they got rid of Darreus, Sammy Watkins, and others in one off season -
Exactly. Cap is “real” in the same way Santa is real. kids/ casual fans think it’s real, you see him in movies and at the mall, but GM’s (parents) know the truth. Spend a little cash over the cap to buy nice presents for your kids in full, if it’s “too expensive” maybe you throw it on a credit card to pay it down (extensions). All while knowing 100% that your income (salary cap, tv deals) are all going up in the future. ALWAYS a way to make any deal they want happen.

Super easy fix, not a huge fan of the horn and lights, but just put a “pack” of some kind on the official who monitors the clock. The pack vibrates as soon as the clock hits zero. He doesn’t have to take his eyes off the ball. the pack vibrates and ball isn’t snapped he throws the flag. Simple
