Wow. Terrible play calling. They have the best WR in NCAA. Throw it to him!!! -

Chip Kelly and Day got way too conservative on offense. Sound familiar? -

Caleb Downs would look great as a second round pick to pair with Bishop -
Levy was 0-4 in Super Bowls, McDermott cannot go 0-4 vs KC

Not this year. Allen is locked in!!! -

ND would barely be Bowl eligible if they played in Big 10 or SEC. They have some talented players from time to time but they just don't have the depth of talent that most of the power 5 schools have. -
So we're moving on from Harbaugh right?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to section122's topic in The Stadium Wall
Swap QBs and the Ravens are multiple SB winners. Harbaugh has won a SuperBowl. If Lee Evans doesn't drop a pass they make it to another SB. McDermott hasn't even won a Championship yet. Someone said does Harbaugh bear any blame for repeated failures in the playoffs? Well how does that not apply to McDermott as well? -
Their window may have actually slammed shut.

Joe Brady, Josh Allen, and the playcalling
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Low Positive's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hollins had a catch on the fourth qtr FG drive in the 4:1. Romo pointed it out. But for whatever reason they were determined to run the ball. Lots of Gilliam on the field. I have wanted him off the team for years but he played well last night. Had some nice blocks and good ST plays. -
Personally, this Ravens matchup is my "McDermott Game."

Great culture guy. Guys want to play for him. That has never been the issue. It's his greatest quality. He let Brady get too conservative. Somehow either by design or by accident he and Brady limited Allen's ability to control the game. That is unconceivable. As I posted elsewhere, hard to criticize the defense when they get three takeaways. But again the defense collapsed when it mattered most. Baltimore went right through them to score a TD and they got lucky the 2 pt pass was dropped. It's a similar defensive playoff collapse we have seen over and over. Hopefully he will learn he needs to let Allen run up the score -
Josh wasn't losing that game. 1:33 with two timeouts. They would have gotten a FG to win. Hard to say bad things about the defense when they had three turnovers, but once again the McD defense blew a lead on the final drive. It took a miracle drop to avoid another defensive playoff collapse.

Dalton Kincaid- why so underwhelming this season?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Laporta is a star in Detroit. Could have had him without moving up in the draft. He is a more complete TE Still have hope Kincaid will develop. TE can take a few years. -
Lets talk complementary football and the 2nd half
Ethan in Cleveland replied to appoo's topic in The Stadium Wall
Brady was terrible in 3rd quarter. Probably just cost himself a HC job. Defense forced three turnovers but yet again failed to make a stop when it mattered. Like last game against Chiefs, Bill need to be ultra aggressive and get up by 2 or more scores deep into the fourth -
To be fair, that PI on White was a pretty weak call. Not calling the punch to Kincaid was ridiculous. And it was right after the botched holding call. The refs could have easily made up for the miss by calling a legit unsportsmanlike penalty. NFL absolutely needs to have someone call down and correct these terrible calls.

Rapp was carted off. He is likely out for the rest of the season. It will be Bishop and Hamlin starting. If they don't bring Hyde up now, then you know this was all a PR move by the Bills and a backhanded way to get Hyde a ring.

That FG Decision by McDermott
Ethan in Cleveland replied to SageAgainstTheMachine's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think McD should have challenged the spot. The third down call was terrible Kicking the FG was the right decision. -
100% agree. I'm not convinced even if he catches it that he makes it past the goal line. He was already falling out of bounds and it would have taken a significant move to get the ball over the goal line before his foot or other body part was out of bounds. .
-
When they screwed us on the spot, they should have run a play action fake on third down. Give Josh a chance to make a play with his arm. Kicking the FG was the correct decision. It would have been interesting if they ran two QB sneaks in a row. Sooner or later they need to run a fake QB sneak pass play out of that formation.

On the 3rd and 8 deep middle ball to Shakir on the first drive, Cooper was running a corner route and he pulled the safety to him which opened up Shakir down the middle. There was another play I think to Samuel where he drew double coverage from the safety and corner that left the underneath man wide open. My tin foil hat says this is McDermott giving the middle finger to Beane in a power move to show who is boss. Go back to the first PC after the trade and McDermott didn't seem happy about it all. defended the guys that were already there. Brady called a brutal game. I just can't imagine why they would not take shots with Cooper against either of their outside corners. Cooper has made some of the best catches of the season. They really need to get him going more.
