Looking at Race for the #1 Seed
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
Get #2 seed and hope to avoid Chargers in the first round. -
TNF. Jets Texans. Who do we want to win tonight?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Billyhouseman's topic in The Stadium Wall
I could see that trade happening tomorrow. That would be so wild -
Rapp has $1.1M guaranteed for 2025 plus $1.2M in deferred cap meaning he would be over $2M in dead cap if they cut him at end of year. $1.2M I guess is ok to pay for quality backup safety if Bishop starts next year. I'm still confused on the Safety plan. Your point is well taken on edge in 2nd round. You've mentioned that before and I have no reason to doubt you. I guess I'd rather over draft an edge than a safety. Or go OT to prepare for when Dawkins might leave since they seemed content to only draft one WR.

Coleman has done better than I expected and is having a very good year for a rookie WR. I still see him as having a ceiling of a solid #2 WR. And that would be just fine. Bishop pick looks curious at best and awful at worst. Is he supposed to play beside Rapp or instead of? If he was supposed to be the SS role Poyer played then who was supposed to play the Hyde role? I understand they move around alot, but it still makes no sense how this guy who was supposed to be so athletic can't beat out Rapp or Hamlin. Obviously the injury impacted his development and it's too soon to pass judgement. I wanted edge or second WR in second round and that still seems like it would have been better choice than Bishop. Carter looks like a solid DT rotation guy. That's fine for a 3rd round DT. Solomon may have some pass rush ability but doesn't look like he can be a 3 down DE. I was worried VanPran would not dress all year but he is getting some actual game experience. Still have high hopes for him but too soon to tell.

Zero reason to trust McDermott on personnel decisions. He started Trent Murphy for three years and he was worse than Epenesa. He didn't recognize Teller. He started Peterman. Heck even Poona Ford is playing ok for Chargers (15 tackles and 1 sack). If you say that is not much it's double he had with Bills last year and on pace for what he did with Seattle on a regular basis. Oh and it's 3 more tackles than Oliver has. Obviously with the training camp injury Hamlin was starting. But it's still very curious that Edwards can't even dress for game day and rotate in for a few series per game.

Diggs hurt (Torn ACL - out for the season)
Ethan in Cleveland replied to fasteddie's topic in The Stadium Wall
So Wolford trying to get as much as he could is somehow different than Peters trying to get paid? The reason to get mad is it was a poison pill that was never real money that Wolford was going to see. It was only to prevent Bills from matching like you said. It's a dirty move by the agent. Without that clause Bills could have matched and Wolford would not have made one penny less. -
You can't be serious right? These players literally train year round now. In the 1970s they would come in fat and out of shape and use training camp to get in shape. Oh and do you ever go out during the work week with your job? I went to the symphony on a Tuesday when I worked all week. Does that make me a bad doctor?

Diggs hurt (Torn ACL - out for the season)
Ethan in Cleveland replied to fasteddie's topic in The Stadium Wall
If you were underpaid at your job, would you be appreciative of the opportunity? How about if your career might end at any moment from an injury and your employer can just cancel your contract? And lastly, I assume your career is not dependent on your age and might only last a few years. As poster below pointed out he was already playing LT at the time at a high level. If you really want a guy that the fan base should be mad at it's Will Wolford. He and his agent really screwed the Bills with that contract that had a clause that he was to be highest paid player on team when Colts had no good QBs and we had Kelly on a huge deal. -
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/42080278/vikings-acquire-left-tackle-cam-robinson-trade-jaguars He had already been benched this year and on final year of his deal. Swap of picks and Jags paid some of his remaining salary. Seems like far more trades this year than typical NFL season. Also a bunch of guys that are soon to be free agents. Teams giving up potential comp pick for an actual pick or moving up in the draft. There are several teams that are terrible and have no hope for 2024. Still several trades out there is my guess. Oh yeah who knew David Quessenberry was still in the league???

What does Elam and a pick get you in this market?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
OCT is playing better but the was the worst starter games 1-3. I'm betting he has a great second half. If one of the guards was hurt then yes Teller would be a nice guy to try and get. -

Ethan in Cleveland replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why would you want Teller? We have two cheap good guards now. Now the Browns are interesting because Denzel Ward just suffered his 6th yes 6th concussion and at least 2nd this season. Elam straight up for ZaDarius Smith would be a nice trade. Smith is on a one year deal and $9M of the $11M was already paid in signing bonus. He has 5 sacks and is a good player though he is 32. -
Diontae Johnson to the Ravens (now claimed by Houston)
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yup and those 5 TD passes the prior game didn't happen...what does Lamar have to do? -
In other news, OJ traded to San Francisco

Yup. Same fans were happy to see first ballot HOF Jason Peters get traded too for asking for appropriate compensation which the Eagles gave him. -

This is such nonsense. Kelly trashed Buffalo before ge got here. Bruce Smith left for Virginia ten minutes after the season was over every year. Diggs was a great player for this organization and never once said anything negative about the city or the fans. Why just fans tear down players that leave? -

Seems like a terrible trade. -

Odd. Does he play corner? -
Make room for a trade? Or did he do something bad?

Bills running back receiving game this year
Ethan in Cleveland replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
On a non sarcastic note. Running backs like Thurman, LaDainian, Faulk, and Edgerin I thought were always special. They could do so much damage to a defense in so many ways. No LB or even a safety could cover them and no team would commit a CB to cover them. Nearly unstoppable if used correctly. -

With these numbers you could definitely get a 2nd round pick for Cook...even though he can't catch, break tackles, or run up the middle.... -
Should Bills place Samuel on IR?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to TFBillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree with this. Even if he needs surgery get it done now. He's more of an insurance policy at this point shoudl someone else get hurt. On another note. NFL should institute retroactive IR. This would give teams a week or two to figure out if they need to go on IR for the full four weeks. Now if he needs IR it will ne 6 weeks of no games played. -

14.5M in dead cap is chump change for Beane.
