  1. He's worth picking up the 5th year option. He's not worth an extension Best case is probably a 4th round comp pick after that
  2. Well we agree on one thing. SB victories is all that matter!
  3. Hill was in the final year of his contract with only $1.45M in dead cap money. Clark had two years left so there was a significant dead cap hit there around $7M. However in both cases they got considerable draft picks back in return. At the time Mahommes cap hit was $35M. Allen's is going to be $47M. Diggs and Miler's dead cap hits for 2024 are $32M and $31M. Are you really saying you would take on over $60M in dead cap in one year by getting rid of these two players? Can you find another example where a team in a Championship window took on over $60 M in dead cap space? How did that retoolling workout for Favre and Rodgers? Best player of recent note was Davante Adams and they traded him on the tag. Again draft pcik compensation and no dead cap hit. You are talking about cutting multiple players with millions in dead cap with zero return. It's just not going to happen.
  4. Except I really don't think you do. If you cut all those people you mentioned you are looking at tens of millions of dead cap money in one year. You still need to put together a 53 person roster and their are minimum spending numbers per season of real money. You think Allen would stay if they tanked an entire season? Would McDermott stay? Do you think the fans would put up with a purposeful nonplayoff season? What you are suggesting is absolute lunacy. When teams shed contacts it is because they are already terrible like Beane did in year 2 of this regime. No team in NFL history has ever tanked a season with a franchise QB. You can't be taken seriously posting stuff like this. Cutting even one of these guys with massive dead cap hits is untenable. We were two or three plays away from a Lombardi. We have ten draft picks. Even with McDermott they will compete for a SuperBowl with just a few roster tweaks. Now next year they can make some of the moves you suggest. The only decent player on his rookie contract that would be up for an extension would be Rousseau. And they can let him walk after his fifth year. He is nothing special. They will be able to walk away from Poyer, Diggs, Knox, Dawkins, and Miller after this upcoming season if they want to with or without some post June 1 designations. I'm not saying I agree with that but they become realistic options.
  5. You don't know how the NFL works. I'm not trying to be mean but contracts just don't work that way in the NFL. Very few have large amounts of guaranteed money. So players agree to huge signing bonuses to get the most money up front. Teams add years to lessen the cap hit in the present. These dead cap hits only get worse if you cut the player early. And it's interesting the only player you didn't list who actually can and should be cut, but actually makes sense for both parties to agree to a paycut is White.
  6. Herbert has Harbaugh now and Allen is held back by McDermott still.
  7. It means that more than 50% of this board would have gotten rid of McDermott and gone with the new coach for 2024.
  8. Has to be SuperBowl or bust for McDermott this year. He is rapidly running out of other people to blame. His Ballshat process and winning mentality nonsense has run its course. He's a loser coach with a HOF QB! Any barely competent HC could lose at home in division round two years in a row. Absolutely hate that this HC has cost us two legit chances at a Lombardi and has wasted the prime of Allen's career. In Allen we must trust!!!!!
  9. Yeah those were good moves. I truly don't think any player 5th round or later is any better than an UDFA. I like the idea of trading out of those spots and picking up extra picks the following year. Trading out of the first round though is all about getting 4 guys in the top 100 instead of 3.
  10. White and Beane need to have a man to man conversation. If White gets cut he will be lucky to get a PS offer sometime mid-season. If he takes a huge paycut, he still gets paid more than in free agency and has a chance to rehab and maybe make a transition to safety. A payout is win win. But if White won't agree then he needs to be cut. I just don't know if it is better now or after June 1
  11. Has Beane ever traded down? I love the idea. I dont care about the fifth year option. Allen's window to win a SB may be closed 5 years from now. Trade down get a cheaper just as good of a player in the second round and an extra player in the third round. Love it. Two WR, Edge, and S or OT in top three rounds
  12. Too bad we can't fire our DC again this year.
  13. Thoughts and prayers and no discussion about gun regulation because it is too soon. So sad for a community that just wants to celebrate.
  14. He’s under contract for next year. He played ok. Make him play on final year of contract. Then let him walk for a comp pick. He’s never going to be a LT. They can find someone else to play RT in 2025 much cheaper.
  15. Shanahan made it to the SuperBowl with Brock Purdy McDermott can't get out of the divisional round with Josh Allen
  16. I might have thought that two years ago. But I think he's done a solid job the last couple drafts. Honestly I blame McD for Elam not playing. Shocker I know that I blame McD. But Beane was right about Brown at RT and he did well all be it two season too late of fixing the OL. If Miller plays well this year and he finds a WR and an Edge that contributes immediately this off season it will be a huge success!!!
  17. Love those unis! Cribbs was so good! That is hardly unpopular take. Most of us agree. Some of us just knew it a few years ago and got flamed repeatedly for saying it!
  18. I agree thia board would go nuts and they would all be wrong. I would defend Diggs too just as I have all season. Diggs cares and is passionate. He wants to win. He is everything you want in a Buffalo Bill. I defended OBJ even he kicked the net too. It's quite interesting because the guy who should be getting criticized is Rice who blew up at Mahomes on the sidelines because he didn't get the ball at the goal line.
  19. Im going to get ripped for this but here goes.... Bills mafia is a terrible nickname for our fan base. I hate it so much. A small but vocal and ever present minority of fans are really drunken trash that I would never associate with in any other venue. You know this is true. You see them every game. My wife looks around at the parking lot and we can't wait to make it to our club seats. In a perfect world there would be seperate parking and gates for those willing to pay a higher price to avoid the drunken gauntlet on game day.
  20. BPA between edge or WR. Then pick the opposite in round 2. They need both.
  21. Its a shame because they were gashing them in the run but they got stuffed for no gain on 2nd and 6 just before 2 min warning. Had they gotten more yards there they probably run again on 3rd down and at least force Chiefs to use a TO. Could he have had a better play on 3rd down? Nobody knows. Great play call by Spags. A first down there of course wins the game. Hard to fault him for the 2nd down call just because it didn't work. What was so stupid was taking the ball first in OT!!! No way you are stopping KC with four downs to get 10 and no clock to worry about. Stoooopid!!!!!!
  22. Agree. The only time they lost was when both OT were injured and missed the SuperBowl. Beane improved the OL. Now he has to rebuild the DL while getting younger, more reliable and faster at WR.
  23. It is so sad but the inescapable truth is they are just better. Almost across the board they are just better with the exception of a few spots HC Reid over McD OC Reid over Brady DC Spag over McD QB probably a push because I love Allen as my QB but even there Mahomes is probably better OL Bills improved but Chiefs are better TE until he retires Kelce is the best WR Diggs is probably still the best and as a group Bills are probably just as good or better than the Chiefs RB Cook is the best RB between both teams DL Jones is in the conversation for best DL in the league and their group is far better than Bills LB With a healthy Milano this is one position Bills may be better Secondary nickel is a push but as a group they are better and younger Kicker they have the best in the league and now Bass is a huge concern for next year Punter who cares Ownership Hunt family is iconic. Pegula saved the Bills for Buffalo. Push. As I've said repeatedly, our only hope is Allen being superhuman and willing the team to a win. Even then it might take a lucky bounce to beat them when it matters. The parallels to Brady/Belichick and Manning/Dungy are sickening. I will put my faith in Allen and hope he delivers!!!
  24. He yelled at his coach. So what. He's one of ten best there ever was to play the position. He's allowed
