  1. He was a disappointment last year. I would have been fine if they had just gone with two new guys and a draft pick. Oh well. Beane usually has one or two overpays per year. This seems like one.
  2. This is amazing. Best case he hits all his incentive money and he has a monster year!!!!
  3. My bad. I am usually better with my facts. You are correct.
  4. No way he is the punter game 1. They will draft or sign someone else. There must be some law that they must always have a punter on the roster, because Martin will be gone soon too
  5. He's washed. He got toasted in the KC playoff game on the Kelce TD. He is so slow now. Great player for a long time. Very sad McD cost him a SB or two.
  6. I am a bit surprised on this one. Though another restructure might be in order. I thought once Beane finally got the OL right he would stick with it another year. I thought it was more likely he would retire than get cut. When he said he was coming back, I thought ok, one less hole to fill. They can focus on WR and DL. I criticized this contract from day 1. He was never as good as his contract paid him. But for what he provided the OL and Allen it was probably worth it.
  7. I feel odd about this one. We are crediting Beane for cutting this guy, but it was Beane who signed him last year and he was a flop. At least he is wiling to eat/own his mistakes.
  8. Feel bad how his Bills career ended but this needed to happen. Douglas was playing at a higher level than White ever did post ACL.
  9. He was used as 3rd TE in every game. That's where the majority of his snaps came. He wasn't used in a rotation McGovern missed a few plays during the year but not many. Torrence didn't miss any if I recall. He got some mop up duty when they pulled the starting OL too.
  10. I like the player. Like the role. A bit pricey but solidifies the backup OL spot nicely. One less hole to fill. Really like the OL group as of now. Would take a flyer on a day 3 OT to develop. Net neutral effect on comp pick formula. He is not a FA lost but also one less FA they would need to sign. Can we get rid of the FB now??? This guy takes all the snaps as the third TE. We don't need to waste any money on a FB who is always touted as the emergency 3rd TE.
  11. Nope. They need to get younger on defense I'd be fine with a middle of the road safety in FA like Poyer and Hyde when they signed them. Then draft a mid-round pick to develop.
  12. Charles Haley Cowboys James Lofton for our very own Bills played a massive role in SB runs
  13. Agree. Adams can provide run support and the occasional safety blitz. McD rarely blitzes his safeties. He's really poor in coverage. Terrible fit for Bills. Why ? The cap might go up another 10% next year. Win now at all costs. If you want to help the cap next year I'd cut White this year not Poyer.
  14. Generally agree. I'd just add that any good DC can find the weak link on the OL and exploit it. The last few years that was generally up the middle against our very poor OGs. Beane fixed both guard spots in one year and it looks like Brown is good enough at RT. Just need Dawkins and Morse to stay healthy and above average for one more year.
  15. I'd be shocked if he got a contract that would earn enough to get a 3rd. I'd guess a 5th unless some team with a lot of cash overpays for him, then maybe a 4th. We should be losing more than we sign especially with 11 draft picks to fill holes on the cheap. I doubt Beane ends up using more than 8 of those picks but that is still a bunch of guys that we can draft and don't need to sign in free agnecy. Agree on Davis, AJE, and Dodson. Does Floyd count as a loss? I thought he had a void year, and that might not count as a true free agent loss. It's all about the salary they sign with their new team. It has nothing to do with where they were drafted in the past.
  16. Ranked 21 in QBR and 20th by NFL.com. Threw 10 less INTs than Allen in only 2 less games, while throwing only 3 less TD passes. His YPA is terrible though. Suggesting he is more dink and dunk than he was earlier in his career when he had one of the best long balls in the game. He played his worst football early and got better as the season wore on. He was benched for financial reasons not for performance. Oh yeah and he was more than good enough to beat McD's defense.... But all in all I think you are correct, he is probably at the very top of the bottom 3rd. Still think he is an ugrade for a large number of teams
  17. Don't think this is accurate. You need to have a net loss of players to be eligible for a comp pick. That is correct. And this is how Beane screwed up getting a 3rd round pick for Gilmore. All he had to do was dump a backup WR and marginal starting OG. However the round at which the pick is awarded is based on the individual contract the player signed with his new team.
  18. Good move. Like the player but can't afford $5M for a back up who played 35 snaps all year. He wasn't even the third TE in heavy sets. Edwards played that role. I like Morse coming back for one more year. He's not great but he is good enough. An extra pick gives Beane some flexibility early on day 3. Good spot to grab an extra OL, S, and DT. Maybe burn some of these late round picks for a guy that fell past round 3.
  19. It's certainly in the running. Top 3 have to be Hershel Walker, Deshaun Watson and Wilson... Hard to think of any more worse than these three. Although Bills pulled off some great ones including OJ Simpson and Tom Cousineau ultimately becoming Jim Kelly. Possibly. I thought he played ok down the stretch. He is certainly better than at least 10 of the starting QBs that played last year. He will start somewhere. Pitts, Chicago, LV, New England, Atlanta, and New Orleans are all places he could walk in and start even if it meant the QB of the future sat for a year.
  20. He's still a very good QB. Problem is, he is a locker room cancer. One day all the true stories will come out.
  21. Gotcha chief! Well they didn't do anything in 2017 because him wasn't there...lol
  22. So you are saying while Beane was under contract with the Panthers he was conspiring with McDermott on who to draft in 2017? And then following along this line of thinking that would make Beane also complicit in passing on drafting Mahomes. What you are suggesting would be the biggest scandal in NFL history. Far worse that spygate or deflategate.
  23. Can you define SB run for us? Even the biggest homers on here would hardly claim getting bounced out of the division round in the playoffs three years in a row(twice at home) as SB runs. Obligatory Beane didn't draft in 2017 comment...sorry
  24. Hopefully he's still trying to convince Pegula to can McDermott and hire Belichick.... Sorry couldn't resist....I kid I kid...
  25. Only 72, so sad! He was the best. He and Clayton defined what it was to be an insider and helped make possible careers for future generations.
