  1. Bishop was winning the starting job in TC last year and would have started week 1 if not for the scapula injury. No surprise he is the early leader to start.
  2. That's an interesting take and good discussion topic. PFF for what it is worth had McGovern ranked 10th and Cook ranked 12th. Maybe neither guy is worth an extension, LOL! Torrence may still develop into a top guard too and he would be up for an extension after this year, though last year he looked only average. I still have hopes for Van Pran-Granger to take the center spot in the future. He was a multi year starter in the SEC at Georgia. Played against future NFL high draft picks almost every week. I'd pay Cook and trust Beane to figure out the Center spot.
  3. No doubt there is potential there with a massive upgrade at QB. Palmer and Moore on paper are quality signings and better than Samuel and Hollins were last year.
  4. It's ok to disagree. I think he's better at his position that Oliver, Rousseau, Knox, Benford, and every other player except Milano, White, and Allen were at the time they got their second contracts. He's an elite player that should get paid as such. I fully admit I am biased by running backs that can catch the ball out of the backfield. Thurman Thomas not Kelly was my favorite player of the 1990's teams. I loved watching players like Tomlinson, Faulk, and Edgerrin James. I value them more than WRs. I know the league, the market, and this board disagrees. For the record I fully support the extensions Benford, Rousseau, and Shakir got. All are very good players and all the deals were fair for both sides. Just hope Beane trims the money spent by getting rid of Epenesa, DQ, Samuel, and moving on or redoing the Milano and Knox contracts by next year. That should free up enough money to pay Cook either on the franchise tag or with an extension.
  5. Really hope they pay Cook! Go back and watch the games. He's arguably the second best player on the entire team. He doesn't take big hits. His vision in the hole is as good as Thurman and Shady. His speed is excellent. He has enough power to get an extra yard or two after contact. His hands once thought of as a liability by some are elite. His route running is crisp and quick. He deserves a massive contract. Thanks to the system he doesn't have a ton of wear and tear.
  6. I know Veteran's day and Memorial Day are meant to honor different servicemen. No matter if they perished in combat or made it home, they all come back harmed. Honor them all for the sacrifice they make so we may live free!
  7. Interesting comparison. Both need to prove it in the playoffs though. Neither is as good as some people claim and neither is as bad as many state. Solid QBs you can win with.
  8. I've been rewatching all the 2024 games. Elam was awful every chance he got. I defended him a lot on this board but he played his way off the roster.
  9. It would be nice if we could get a few physically imposing players from time to time. Other teams WRs are bigger than our TEs. Other than Allen, Edmunds(when he was here), and maybe Spencer Brown, I can't think of many guys that are just bigger and stronger than their opponent. Bills do generally have decent size at the CB position. Can only dream what Allen could do with a guy like Mecalf.
  10. It became very low success rate when they changed the rule eliminating overloading one side. I'm fine with allowing it to be declared in the 3rd quarter. That won't change player safety. I just don't see the need to make it a more successful play. It should be a desperation play with low success rate. With all that said I hate the new kickoff rules anyways. I would go back to the way it was. In that format you could do a surprise insides kick anytime you want.
  11. Why? Why make it easier for a losing team to make a comeback? I never understood the rationale for this. You are beating a team for 58 minutes by two scores and give up a late score in garbage time. Now you have to defend a potentially dangerous play and leave your starters on the field longer.
  12. Yes this hurts. No idea how much it would have cost Bills to go up ang get him, but many on this board were advocating for it in real time during last year's draft.
  13. Except you seem to be forgetting the Bills have Allen. So using your analogy the Bills not winning is the same as Denver getting knocked out with the best player in their league.
  14. Yeah except in this case it is fair criticism. When you give up multiple picks to move up and draft a guy that is not nearly as good as two other players in the same draft class it is fair criticism. That said I thought Edmunds was going to be a superstar at the time. Thought he was the next Brian Urlacher. Didn't like giving up multiple picks but thought the player was going to be great. BTW just cross out Edmunds and Warner and add Kincaid and LaPorta and its the same story.
  15. Shakir is 25 too. Not sure he would make the listed top 25 but he's probably in the tier of top 50 guys 25 and under. Couldn't seperate himself from the pack of other under 25 uear old WRs...
  16. LOL. We literally just had three QB's to end the season last year. You keep switching on me. Anyways just for fun I will make a $90 contribution payable to your favorite charity if they have 9 DL on the final 53 roster at the end of training camp. And if they have 10 or more I will pay $100 to your favorite charity. No downside for you! Correct. I meant Punt return. And I agree 100%. The return guy should at least be serviceable on offense or defense.
  17. He's been in the league 4 years and is already 28. Not sure I would call him a young man any longer...lol
  18. Three Steelers games in December? Four in five weeks? He must be betting on the resurrection of Aaron Rodgers. That week 17 game may only be interesting to see if Cleveland gets the first pick in the 2026 draft. KC plays the Chargers week 14 on Dec 14th. That game may decide the division. Have to think he will be there to call that one. Two words and three letters Josh Allen MVP
  19. Ended the season is different than the initial 53 which is what I posted. It was 10 each of those years for week 1. In 2024 both Smoot and Carter were on IR thus the need to add Phillips and Jefferson. I think the DB situation was a little better in 2023 and 2024(perhaps not much after the Bishop injury in TC). At this point I have them keeping both Hancock and Strong from the rookie class. Also if the KR is a CB again that's another spot needed for the DBs. As I said above they probably get to 10 after the suspensions are over. Best way to carry 10 DL for week 1, is to get rid of Trubisky and just go with two QBs.
  20. Nope. I went back and looked. It was five and five each of those years. At least that is how the initial 53 breakdown was. Maybe through the course of the year it changed. https://billswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/bills/2023/08/29/2023-buffalo-bills-53-man-roster-roster-cuts-brandon-beane-nfl/79143074007/ https://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/sports/football/nfl/bills/2024/08/29/buffalo-bills-full-roster-practice-squad-2024/74990566007/
  21. I went back and checked the final 53. It was 10 in 2024 and ten in 2023. I think they get to 10 when Ogunjobi and Hoecht come back. I think there are just too many question marks in the the defensive backfield not to carry an extra guy there. They will have four veterans in DQ, Bosa, Oliver, and Rousseau. If they keep 10 to start the year then Epenesa will make the final 53.
  22. As others have said, I can't see him getting cut this year. Even after they bring back the two PED cheats, he is still the only true 1 tech guy on the roster. Yes they want to make Carter and Walker 1 tech DT's but that is really hard to do. Carter was so bad he didn't dress the second half of the season. Of the current DL on the roster that might get cut, I think Epenesa is the most likely target. If Bosa makes it through TC unscathed then you already have two starters at DE. With Solomon and Jackson you have two young pass rushers. The final 9 will be: Bosa Oliver DQ Rousseau Carter Walker Sanders Solomon Jackson I don't see them carrying 10 DL until the PED cheats come back. They will use the extra roster spot to carry an extra DB. When the cheats come back, they will have a tough decision to make. They will probably find one of rookies to go to IR or maybe cut Solomon and see if they can sneak him back on PS.
  23. Makes sense to some degree. I’d say Palmer took Cooper’s role and with Samuel playing better at the end of the year, his targets would go down. Obviously the Bills want Coleman to get more targets too. All that said, he probably has better stats as 4/5th WR with Allen than whatever he ends up at with the Patriots. Last year with Allen was more productive than he has been in almost all other years with lesser QBs.
  24. Bell was one of the pieces of the Cornelius Bennett trade. He went to the Rams. He had a decent career - three 1000 yard seasons - one with Buffalo his rookie year and two with the Rams. Didn't live up to first round draft status but not a bust either. He had a ProBowl and was comeback player of the year his first year with the Rams.
