  1. Why all these anti-Browns comments. They beat the Steelers on the road in a lopsided game when the Bills beat them at home in a fairly close game. Which team played the Chiefs better?
  2. I will take one on one pass rush ability over run stopping any day. If Edmunds rebounds and starts to take better angles to the run lane the run defense will be fine. Get a big body in the middle and the run defense gets better. Get younger and more explosive on the edge. That's why I like Edmunds at OLB but probably not going to happen.
  3. Only the prorated portion of the signing bonus would affect the cap. The rest of the guaranteed money would go away in the event of a death the same as if he retired. Now if it was an injury off the field that would be interesting as the team might try to void his contract. An injury on the field they would just keep him on the roster and pay him. I think something similar occurred with Eric Wood and Cam Chancellor Josh may not want more than 4 years. The cap might go up a lot in 4 years and he may not want to be locked in that long.
  4. I was thinking four but I wonder with all the new QBs and QBs changing teams, that it may be more spread out this year. Would not be surprised if it is 3 and then they get flexed into two more late in the year. Monday night games are terrible for me. I miss half the game by the time I make it home from work.
  5. Zay was tied for most targets on the team his rookie year with 74 and in his second year he increased that and led the team with 104 targets. He led the team in receptions at 56 and yards at 650 in his second year. Are any of those great? Not really but one could argue he was showing promise. What is not in those stats though is all the drops. All that said, I'd say there is a less than 10% chance Singletary is traded.
  6. Moss seemed to get better as the season wore one. I think people are just reacting to the fact that Moss was the starter by mid-season and was getting the bulk of the carries down the stretch. Of course this is the same HC that started Peterman and took 2 and a half years to bench Murphy.
  7. I'm just stating facts. You said this regime doesn't give up on early draft picks. It's just not true. McD was HC and by most reports was running the draft when they traded up for Jones. I agree it's too early to give up on Singletary. But I think most folks are correct, that his value on the trade market would be fairly low.
  8. Zay Jones was a 2nd round pick by McD and they gave up on him. I doubt Beane or McD would keep a player just because they drafted him.
  9. As stated by the OP, too expensive for his age and Bills cap situation. Time to get much younger on the edge.
  10. Oregon is starting with Ohio State. But you are correct that is the exception not the rule. And college has a larger roster than NFL. I'm guilty of hyperbole but the quality of play with the least amount of preseason practice and games in the history of the NFL was no different than in any other year. Ask a season ticker holder if they want to pay for four meaningless games at full price. There must be a middle ground. Im not advocating for guys showing up for camp 20 pounds overweight to actually get in shape. That is the very rare exception now.
  11. Gross overstatement and fairly ignorant of any you know actual facts. Did you know that 80% of NCAA FBS and 78% of NCAA FCS football players graduate. The graduation rate for public 4 year schools is 33% and for private is just over 52%. These young men earn billions of dollars for their universities and their efforts on the field fund every other sport except men's basketball. Far far more of these young men become outstanding fathers and have careers outside of football. And the crime rate among NFL players is lower than the average same aged population. https://cnsmaryland.org/interactives/Crime-In-NFL/
  12. I wanted him when he left Pittsburgh and went to Detroit instead. Would be a good move. Jets signed Kroft at $1.5M. I would have brought back Kroft at that amount. Agree post draft makes sense. If you go CB, DT, edge in no specific order in the draft that doesn't leave much room for an impact TE pick.
  13. Not sure what you are talking about. Spring football is like three or four weeks of practices and an intrasquad game. Of course there is weight training and conditioning things that happen year round in college and NFL. Workout bonuses are not entirely tied to OTAs. They are tied to showing up for workouts before OTAs. As one example, White's contract has a $300,000 workout bonus which sounds like a lot but it is only 4.4% of his total earnings in 2021. I'm not advocating for eliminating all practices. But I don't beleive they are as crucial as the coaches and many people beleive. As for the hitting getting your body ready for the season. That is medieval thinking. The body doesn't work that way. The body goes through cycles of injury and repair. Getting injured more often from contact doesn't hasten the repair process nor prevent the harm to muscles and tendons. The play in 2020 was no different than other years with less practice time. Allen had one of the greatest statistical improvements in QB play in a year with little practice time with his WRs. https://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio-state-football/2021/03/121462/ohio-state-will-begin-spring-football-practices-on-march-19-spring-game-scheduled-for-april-17?amp Ohio state spring schedule. 15 practices in 29 days and one intrasquad game. Basically the same for Oregon.
  14. Yup. Knox and Morse cost us the game on that play.
  15. The fault dear Brutus lies not in the offense but in the pass rush
  16. It was called consistent with the times. The NFL is reinforcing the part of the rule that states it must be a forcible hit. It's a good development. The blindside block is vicious but if there is no violent collision the league shouldn't care what direction the block is occurring. The intent of the rule is to avoid the hit that Hines Ward would routinely deliver to unsuspecting defenders. Good move. Nobody wants to see tick tack calls on rules like this. Just like getting rid of the incidental face mask penalty.
  17. College does fine without pre-season games and minimal practice. NFL was fine last year with contact and practice cut back or eliminated. This old-school BS of hitting in pads and two a day workouts was stupid in 1970 and is stupid in 2021. The players are right to not risk injury when they aren't getting paid and don't have guaranteed contracts. None of us would work for free in our jobs.
  18. This is more of an issue with me than it is with the player. But I always seem to dislike players that the fan base was overally supportive of when they actually weren't that great. Talley and Reich are at the top of the list. And I really dislike Moorman. Not his fault. But he was overly enthusiastic on the field for a punter even if he was the only good player on some terrible teams. I always graded on me that the team would win 4 games and the fan base would buy Moorman jerseys.
  19. Well done. OJ, Cribbs, and Kelly
  20. Last year the pressure was on Allen. This year it is on the coaching staff, Edmunds, and Oliver. McD and his staff need to find a way to pressure the QB, protect Allen, and figure out how to get more out of Knox. Edmunds has to play better. I rewatched the Ravens game and he was awful. Supposedly fully healthy and he played one of the worst games of the season. Oliver has just not produced enough big plays. Solid player but they need more than solid.
  21. Crazy isn't it with Reed and Moulds.
  22. Really? Any pics of that? That is amazing Yes that is true and probably broke some AFL bylaws too
  23. Saw a you tube of Bills Steeler 1980 with Ferguson at QB. I looked him up to see if there was any update on his battle with cancer. I knew about his longevity in the league and his 1-3 playoff record. I knew about the ankle. But, here are three things I didn’t know about Ferguson. 1. 1975 led the league in TD passes tied with Fran Tarkenton 2. 1977 led the league in passing yards 3. Survived two entirely different cancers Post your fact that might not be known about the Bills
