I’d be fine if they shopped Ford, Phillips, and Epenesa.

What happened to our red zone O?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills oline doesn't run block well enough. Bills let Lee Smith go who was an excellent run blocker on the edge. They aren't running Josh enough in the red-zone. They don't have a physically dominant WR that can out jump the defenders. They can still be effective and I think they will. Run Josh more like he did against KC and it will open up the pass. Once he starts running a few QB sweeps the defense will collapse on him and open up guys in the endzone -
A few thoughts about the Titans game, in no particular order
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
You won't see much of a pattern because there are few teams built like Tenn. Gunner mentions this as well. If the play the Tirans again the Bills can beat them by getting ahead early. Had those two first drives been TDs instead of FGs the game may have been very different. Daboll needs to recognize this oline cant pass or run block against great D-lines. He needs to keep an extra blocker in. Bills WRscand Knox will get open if Allen has the time. -
A few thoughts about the Titans game, in no particular order

Agree though I would add missing a wide open Sanders in the corner of the endzone. It was not one of those plays where Allen is looking to the other side of the field. He was rolling that way and chose to throw short to Singletary if I recall instead of Sanders who had beaten his guy by 2 steps -
Not crazy at all. Defense gave up 6 straight scores. There would have been over 3 min on the clock. They could not stop Josh most of the game. Our best chance died on the two yard line.

A few thoughts about the Titans game, in no particular order
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
All this great analysis and for me none of it matters. The Bills are soft. They have been for years and I really don't know why that is. Allen is the toughest guy on the team followed by Diggs and our two safeties. Both lines are soft. The Bills are a finesse team. When they play a bully they get physically beaten. This was not scheme. It was a flat out beating at the point of attack. -
penalties on kick returns - out of control
Ethan in Cleveland replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
The issues are two fold. As many have pointed out punt and kickoff coverage is unlike any other plays. The blockers in many cases are running stride for stride with the tacklers. That doesn't happen on regular offensive plays. Two issues really piss me off. McD and Beane put so much emphasis on ST's players on the roster and they still suck. But even worse, games are significantly affected by the worst players on the roster and the refs. Smith holding some scrub on Tenn that then resulted in a flag significantly affected the outcome of that game. That is not what the NFL or any of us want. -
What are your thoughts on Ed Oliver?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
You must not have seen Dareus play. For four years he was an excellent DT - probably top 3 in the league. Oliver has 8 career sacks. Dareus had 10 in one season. He was two time ProBowl player and one time 1st team All-Pro. Yes he went to hell after the big contract, but to compare Oliver to Dareus at this point in his career is to not know your history. Oliver is playing at a decent quality starter level. Way under his draft status and well below what he will want to get paid. DT can take some time to develop. If he stays healthy I have no issue picking up his option. I'm fine with getting one more year out of him. No way am I giving him a long term deal. -
Agreed

They were #1 only because they played terrible QBs. There were some nice signs of an improving pass rush but it was non-existent last night. Edmunds is better this year than last but still so far from being a dominant middle linebacker. Glass half empty: Bills are soft. Glass half full: so is most of the rest of the league. Tampa, Tenn, Pittsburgh, and maybe Baltimore are the only truly physical teams. Bills will win no less than 8 more games and have the division won by first week of December.

On both sneak attempts Allen went left. On both tries the right side did their job. On the first one Allen looked like he was trying to fake inside and then rush outside like he did last week. On the last attempt he slipped. Even with the rush he may have made it if he could have kept his feet under him. The lack of execution or precision is a direct result of being physically overmatched. Other than Allen, Tennessee is just bigger and stronger at almost every position. Our O-line got worked bad. Morse had one of the worst games of his Bills career.

Going for it was fine. Even the sneak call was fine. You would hope for something a little more creative since the entire world knew Josh was sneaking it when he went under center. How about running that Chiefs play they threw to Kelce at the goal lien against the Bills? No worried. The next tough game is not until December Can't reach unless it is over the goalline.

Titans are physical and the Bills are finesse. Not really much more than that.

Josh Made It On 3rd Down!

He was short and no you can't fumble the ball forwards in the final 2 minutes of the game unless you recover your own fumble. -
