Referee Tony Corrente corrupt as *****!!!
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Bubba Gump's topic in The Stadium Wall
Even his coaches were yelling at him on the sideline. It was taunting. He made a great play and all he has to do is walk to his sideline. But no he walks toward the opponents sideline and stares them down. It could have been a no call but maybe he said something. Usually tauting has some component of pointing at the opponent or throwing the ball at them. The ref contact would be an ejection for unsportsmanlike conduct so has nothing to do with the taunting penalty. -
How about trying Antonio Williams?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to SuperBills12's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sitting Taiwan Jones and bring up Brieda and Williams would be fine by me. As others have said, none of these RB's are great but it's the o-line. Let's not make this more complicated than it needs to be. They couldn't run block last year and the hope was that with Ford healthy and Feliciano healthy the starting five that never played a snap together last year would be better. Well it has worked out they are far worse. Last year the group was an elite pass blocking unit. This year they can't run block at all or pass block consistently. Beane and McD screwed this up and unless Brown can come back and play a capable RT I can't see how they can make a legit SB run -
I've consistently questioned if McD was the guy to win it all. More on this board are starting to question him too. I think he has improved his game day decision making during his tenure. I think he had become more aggressive. I just continue to question the roster makeup and the player evaluation. He overemphasizes special teams to the detriment of the rest of the roster. What is he and others seeing in practice that they beleive Ford can play o-line at any position? He has been brutal. Gilliam, Doyle, and Sweeney are awful. Yet they are getting more opportunities than McKenzie and Davis. Is Taiwan Jones really such an elite gunner that they can't dress a guy with actual speed. There must be 5 other guys that can do what Jones does on game day. Not getting your team ready to play is on the head coach. How many patsies did Belichick beat repeatedly. Has it ever been said his team wasn't ready to compete. If the culture he has built doesn't produce self accountability among the players, then the culture is worthless. As the OP said, the next several games will really test McDermott and his ability to lead through adversity.

0.22 Yards before contact in the running game.
Ethan in Cleveland replied to damj's topic in The Stadium Wall
And the so called wizard did nothing to address it. That 2022 second round pick isn't blocking anyone this year -
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2217320-bill-belichick-answers-were-on-to-cincinnati-to-5-questions-in-presser After falling to 2-2 to start the season and getting throttled on MNF by Kansas City, the Patriots regrouped and went on to win the AFC and the SuperBowl. McDermott needs to rally the team and recognize this loss can not jeopardize the entire season. They still have one of the easiest schedules in the league, a MVP caliber QB, and a lot of talent. McDermott needs to rise to the occasion. Many on here defend him. Well it's time to prove he can coach with the best of them. Winning it all takes patience, luck, staying/getting healthy, and making a run late in the year. There are no more excuses and little room for error. The Patriots and the best coach in history are right behind us. The moment is now for McDermott I still see greatness in this team. I hope this is the moment they regroup and start playing like they did after the Arizona loss last year.

That says more about the Bills franchise than it does McD. My first choice would probably be Lincoln Riley. They need a young offensive minded HC. Anyone can coach this vanilla McD/Frazier defense. I get it. There is almost no way McD loses his job even if the Bills don't make the playoffs. That said owners can be impatient and with Allen in place and the roster they have, it would be a prime landing spot.
-
That could be on Allen too. It's not uncommon that the QB is responsible for a wide pass rusher. If the line is supposed to block one way then the QB needs to recognize that and either shift the line or know he has a free rusher. It happens all the time in games. Not saying that is what happened but it might explain the reason there was a free rusher.

NFL Officiating is an abomination for a 18B product
Ethan in Cleveland replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall
It gets called when the DL grabs a player and pulls him out of position so another play can shoot the gap on a blitz or a stunt. It's not a common call but it is called enough that you should know the reason why. Every call should be eligible for a challenge by an independent officiating crew. The NFL has to work to get the right call. The referee's union killed the Pass interference challenge by not reversing any of the calls. That is why it needs to be an independent replay group. Give each coach two challenges a game on any call. -
McKenzie had a breakout game against the Dolphins last season and has been MIA ever since. It's sad. Once they get Knox back they will have more balance

Possible offensive solution?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why do you think Sweeney will be any better? That is just blind faith. He's a 7th round draft pick that wouldn't make most rosters in the NFL. Same for Gilliam. They cut the wrong TE. As for your idea, I actually think it is good. I would much rather have Moss on the field than Gilliam. Moss can pass block and catch out of the backfield. Getting Knox back will be key. -
Probably not but it's worth a try

McD is the one to go. There was a thread before the season started and it was something like who was going to hold us back or who shoudl be held responsbile iof they don't win the SB. My answer has been and always will be McD. There are just way too many games his team plays down to the competition and one side of the ball or the other is historically awful. It goes back to his defense giving up 298 yards rushing to the Saints and continues to today when the offense with a MVP candidate QB can't score 9 points. But there will be no accountability. I'm telling you this guy is not the guy. He is a good enough but not great enough coach to get it done.

I'd advocate trying the following O-line for a few series at least and see what happens. LT - Brown LG - Dawkins C - Morse RG - Boettger RT - Williams There is no PS player that is going to save this situation. What do you all think of this idea. Williams is a much better RT than a guard. Brown looks capable of playing OT in the NFL. Dawkins is good but not elite at LT. The current guards are turnstiles and can't move or block anyone. Morse is what he is. He's solidly above average pass blocker and poor run blocker. Ford is just a massive bust. Bates is a tease. He is probably not capable of playing any position for any length of time but he is a good game-day injury option that can back-up all five spots.
-
You are misguided. The issue is in the trenches on both sides of the ball. We are soft on both lines. Basham and Doyle were dumb picks. Neither is doign anythgin to help them win now. Epenesa is looking more and more like a bust. Oliver looks adequate but is not a star. They have obviously no idea how to judge OL talent. They have tried Ford at three different positions and he is awful at all of them.

We don't have an elite D. We have an easy schedule.

Give Allen some credit for his play today
Ethan in Cleveland replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Three turnovers and a sack on 3rd and 8 on the final drive. I love Allen but that is garbage football. He has to play better. -
People applauded Milano and Williams which still look like good moves. Nobody really cared one way or another with Feliciano. Most including me were quite pleased he got Morse, Butler, and Addison to return on lower contracts. Beane's big fails are on Epenesa who is doing nothing, Basham, and Doyle. Without Allen, Beane's draft picks are fairly pedestrian. His next best pick is probably Knox who was just starting to emerge along with Bass and Oliver. Basham and Doyle are doing nothing to win now. He's done better in the trade market which was why I was hoping he would spend some future draft capital to win now. Really disappointed but there is a lot of football to be played still.

The Bills don’t deserve this level of fan support

McD is not the coach to win the SB. I've thought and posted that for a long time. I was hoping I was wrong but he just isn't the guy. There is no excuse to lose to the Jags and give up only 9 points. -

Trubisky to covid 19 list; Davis Webb elevated from PS

Rodgers never wore a mask and was unvaccinated. Gren Bay probably will get a fine. So while I agree the footage from camp suggests Allen was vaccinated while Beasley was not, we don't really know.
