  1. There are other ways to protect Allen 1. Improved short passing game 2. Fourth quarter leads 3. Better running game As for those that want less QB runs, it doesn't make sense to me. My gut tells me QBs are more likely injured in the pocket than when on a designed run. Allen's injury his rookie year was in the pocket. Guys hitting him in the head or rolling into his legs happens in the pocket. Hand injuries happen on throws usually not runs. I favor letting Josh run. Its part of his game that makes him MVP caliber. I think he can be MVP just with his arm but I also don't fear him being asked to run the ball by both design and improvisation.
  2. Williams would be $3.6M dead cap hit. Bills can't afford that and the cost to replace him. Besne got several guys to take pay cuts last year. If he can get Williams cao hit down from $9M to say $6M that would be ideal for another year. I would then bring back Bates, let Boetgger and Feliciano go. Sign one moderately expensive guard to compete with Bates and draft C/G in middle rounds. My roster would be: Dawkins, FA, Morse, Williams, Brown Bates, Ford, draft pick, Doyle That group has quite a bit of position flexibility and a mix of young/old and cheap/expensive.
  3. Interesting. I wonder what the score for NYC was this year and the last year they were in the SuperBowl. LA and NYC just have more diverse populations that may have less interest in sports or specifically the NFL. But I agree, I dont understand why LA or NYC needs two teams.
  4. Player safety as a reason to not want to watch the NFL is pretty selfish. There are lots of reasons to dislike the NFL, but player safety rules shouldn't be one of them. I have issues with the variability in which the player safety rules are enforced, but that is an officiating issue. Next time Josh gets nailed in the head or below the knee ask yourself if that is truly the game you loved?
  5. I agree he is average and some team will overpay for him. Most teams don't have a star CB #1 and an average #2. He will be harder to replace than we think, but you can't pay him what others will. You need to save money somewhere. Yes a rookie #1 will cost more than Wallace did last year but not nearly as much as Wallace will earn in 2022.
  6. We mostly agree. The total cap is likely to increase as well. You have to be in win now mode like LA. I dont care about cap issues in 2024. Beane needs to do whatever he can to create some room this year to improve the roster for 2022. They can't address all the issues in the draft. There are other ways to deal with the cap. Guys like Morse, Williams, Addison and others will come off the books in the near future. And stop wasting money on special team players.
  7. My passion for the Bills has never waned and with Allen it will continue. My passion didn't go down during the drought. The number of times I can see them live is few but I rarely go a whole year without seeing a game or two in Buffalo or on the road. I was at NY Jets and at the Pats playoff game this year from Portland OR. As for the NFL, I lost interest in the NFL years ago. Most of the games are awful. The pregame and halftime coverage when I do see it is just terrible. Ridiculous hyperbolic soundbites. Total waste of time. The officiating is terrible. No I don't believe there is a conspiracy for or against certain teams or players, I just think the quality is bad and the judgment calls are too variable. Being on the West coast, the Thursday and Monday night games are half over by the time I am home from work. College has far better great matchups and games to choose from. If I watch football, it is college on Saturday, the Bills and that is it. When my kids were home then I would watch Seattle with my second son. Now that he is in college I don't even watch Seattle.
  8. Knox missed a block for sure that probably cost us the game. But the defense choked against Houston, just like it has done repeatedly in big moments under McDermott.
  9. It was a good final 10 minutes. Up to that it was boring. I'm fine with low scoring games where the defense is making plays. But for the most part in the first three quarters it was just bad offense from both teams.
  10. Agree my response while I stand by what I wrote is not a reality that will happen. Myoff-season plan 1. Do not extend Edmunds. Entertain trade offers. Assuming no trade is made, make him play out his final year. If he improves then tag him. If not let him walk at the end of next year. 2. Let Wallace walk. I like him more than most but I would not commit to a long term deal with him. If something weird happens and he can't get the deal he wants I would take him back on a 1 yr deal. 3. Assuming Wallace is gone, pick up a veteran CB and draft CB in round 1 or 2 4. Bring back H.Phillips if he will agree to a modest contract. 5. Draft a 1-tech DT in round 1 or 2 6. Cut Jones, Gilliam, and Kumerow 7. Attempt to rework D. Williams contract 8. Attempt to bring back Hughes on a 1 yr deal 9. Cut Star, Butler, Addison, Breida, and Zimmer 10. Cut Haack, draft punter 11. In free agency go after a high end guard, a TE#2, and a speed RB 12. Draft a speed edge rusher in round 3 or 4
  11. New head coach. I said before the season started McDermott would be the Achilles heel for this team. If they win a SB, it will be despite McDermott not because of it. Manning had to overcome Dungy, so too must Allen overcome his HC.
  12. While I agree McDermott cost the Bills and Buffalo a SB. Von Miller on that defense and the KC game isn't even close. I make that trade any day. Bills sucked for 17 years without a SB
  13. Agreed. It was only a few inches. Another run and they have the first down and plenty of time.
  14. How does Cincinnati just sit back and play zone as if all the targets on the ofeld are equally dangerous. All they had was Kupp. Just put your best corner on him in man and play zone behind him. Coaches are so stupid. Can't realize the moment they are in until its too late.
  15. Buffalo is better than both these teams. McDermott cost us a SuperBowl.
  16. Fu Beane. Thank for doing nothing and keeping those precious draft picks
  17. That is a terrible call. Kupp was spinning back to the ball made it look like LB was tugging him. Just awful.
  18. This whole day sucks. Game sucks. Half time sucks. Commercials suck. God dam you McD and costing Buffalo a SB.
  19. What a joke. Guy ripped Ramsey's head off. Every play and every aspect of every play needs to be reviewable. Terrible look for NFL.
  20. Nice balanced play calling by Bengals
  21. Bengals OL especially their tackles are awful. Drafting OT to protect your QB is never a bad idea. Sewell or Chase would have helped Bengals.
