Wilson's situation is really bizarre. He and his agent have to know that trading him is salary cap suicide for Seattle. It is nearly impossible. That said I dont think the whole story has ever come out. My gut tells me Wilson is a two faced diva and a locker room pariah that the coaching staff and front office chose over other players. The SuperBowl loss was the spark but it was brewing before. Go back to the rumor of Golden Tate sleeping with Wilson's ex wife. Guys like Sherman and Thomas and a few others left very unhappy too. There is a story there we just don't know all the details yet.

He's not that good and his agent probably knows that. Another year of playing average to poorly and he will be in the Baker Mayfield situation. Arizona will be even more likely to move on from him. His agent wants the signing bonus and guaranteed money now. Murray has not done enough to warrant an extension yet. Lamar Jackson is the only guy that should be pissed he hasnt signed a lucrative extension yet. As judging by how bad Baltimore was down the stretch, Jackson is the heart and soul of the Ravens.

AFC Opposition FA move you fear

That makes no sense. Otherwise Bill would have acquired a different QB last season. I think BB thinks he can win with any QB that doesn't turn the ball over and makes routine plays consistently -
In hindsight, what’s your worst “hot take” on TSW ever?

You were right about TT. I was ok with the Rex hire too even though I wanted Todd Bowles at the time. I just thought he would be a HC. He did well with the players and game management. I still don't understand why he dismantled a top 3 defense. I thought he would add some blitz packages to the Schwartz D. -

I have several but I post a mix of what I would do and what I think the organization will do. Silliest : I didn't do my research well enough on Henry's foot injury. I'm a cardiologist and should have done more research about his foot injury. Criticized McDermott handling of Marcell Dareus. I thought the organization was giving up on a guy that could have been great. He was playing at an incredible level prior to signing his extension. I thought McD's scheme and coaching was holding him back. Turns out he just was a lazy fat bastard. -
I dont know but I'm just saying its not a given he will leave.

AFCE off season info, cap space, draft picks

He was terrible but did play a little better late in the year. -
According to who? Where is Trubisky going to go? He wasn't that highly valued leaving Chicago and he has no tape from 2021 to show he is any better or worse.

Tampa to play home game in Germany this year

Its the exact opposite of why Buffalo went to Toronto. -
Pay Knox. Best TE Bills have had since the AFL. Stop paying scrub special teams guys and give the money to the real stars. TEs take several years to develop. He is on the precipice of greatness.

AFC Opposition FA move you fear

Not to detail my own thread, but really curious why people don't feel Wilson is a top 5 QB? He was hurt, had no running game, and a terrible oline last year. I would put Allen, Mahommes, Rodgers, and Herbert ahead of him. I would take Wilson over Burrow, Dak, Tannyhill, Stafford, Murray, Ryan, Jackson, Carr, or anyone else. I can see an argument for Burrow but really can't see how Wilson would be ranked behind any other QBs in the league. Cleveland's defense and run game can be elite. The same situation Wilson had early in Seattle. I agree they need to add a WR that can get deep but they really are only good QB play away from being an AFC conference game contender. Pittsburgh has a few more holes than Cleveland but they have elite players at all three levels of the defense and a great RB. If they bring back Juju and fix the oline they will be a very tough team if they had a competent QB. Roethlisberger was terrible for the last 25 games of his career. -

Rodgers won't play that long. Plus Denver even with Rodgers is not as good of a team as KC and Chargers. -
Thought it might be fun to put out some scenarios that would make AFC more competitive than it already is. Rodgers to Denver doesn't worry me much. Russell Wilson to Pittsburgh or Cleveland would really upset the AFC. Adding a top 5 QB to either team would make them legit SB contenders.

Walter Football Mock with the Hot Take on our MLB
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Richard Noggin's topic in The Stadium Wall
If what you say is true then why do you trade up and give away draft picks to pick Edmunds. If what you say is true then there is no reason to extend him and just about any player can do what he does. Who cares who calls the defense. Any player can do that. Lastly if what you say is accurate, then I would counter Edmunds doesn’t do his part. He doesn’t defend the run where he is supposed to. Many of the rest of the players make plays in this boring defense. Edmunds does not. -

Giving up a passer rating of over 100 two seasons in a row is not even average -

The issues on defense are the same as they were last off-season 1. Coaching - cost us the SuperBowl 2. Middle linebacker that makes no plays and who is supposed to be good in pass coverage and gives up a 100+ QB rating 3. DEs that seemingly get pressure but don't create negative plays 4. Soft against physical teams - see Indy and Pats game #1 There were two-three bright spots. Oliver was better. Phillips started terribly and then finished the season playing his best football. Milano stayed healthy. Beane tried to make the defense better. It just didn't work. Investments made last year may pay off next year. Rousseau flashed at times. Basham was earning more time at the end of the season. Epenesa looks like a bust that might be a surprise roster cut. But who knows. Jackson held his own and at worst should provide some depth. Draft CB and true edge speed rusher. Make a decision on Edmunds. Either trade him now or let him play his last year out and walk away from him next year. -
Amazing that Aikman would actually be worse than current ESPN crew. And to pay him top dollar. Utter nonsense. I enjoy Collinsworth too. I know I'm in the minority on this board. He says too many over the top statements, like "this is the best catch I have ever seen". But typically his analysis is quite good. He is not biased against certain teams. He is biased for who has the the hot hand at any moment in the game.

Hmmm. Rams seemed to do well with paying Stafford, Kupp, Woods, and adding OBJ.
-
A good solution is to change his salary this year to all bonus money with a slight increase. Then add a couple years with some guaranteed money next year. Its a win win. Diggs get his money up front and lowers his cap hit for this year.

I doubt anybody disliked Neal on his rookie deal. Heck most of us think he is a quality player. I liked him in the big nickel packages. Our point is he can be replaced with another low cost version with the same production.

Ok here is a different take. Only 3 of the top 10 special teams units even made the playoffs. Bills were one of them and a special teams mistake cost them the SuperBowl. Both SB participants were not in the top 10. Beane got his kicker. Great job. That is the top priority when it comes to special teams. Haack was a terrible signing though I agree with Beane, I would not have paid Bojo either. Cut Haack, draft another punter, and stop overspending on guys that are roster bottom feeders and have almost zero impact on the game.
