Cousins agrees to 1 year extension with Minny
Ethan in Cleveland replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
Leverage, fear, and timimg. Dak is not top 5 but he is probably the best of the not truly elite QBs. Yes he is overpaid but he is still much better than Cousins, Tannyhill, and Carr. -
Breaking: Tom Brady will play this year with Tampa

There goes Gronk -
Knox will command top 5 money after next year

No dome and a stadium in the suburbs is just dumb and massive waste of tax dollar money. Sad for Buffalo. The downtown investment could have made generational changes for the city.

They got rid of the guarantee. They will draft a punter in the late rounds. If they go with the rookie the savings will only be about 600k. If Haack kicks better then he is still cheap. Good move that won't make one bit of difference on the 2022 season outcome.

Bills Sniffing Around Amari Cooper

They picked the wrong day to stop sniffing glue -
He's been traded twice and signed one extension to be with the team that traded for him. Can you explain your post for those of us that don't get it? Bills made a trade for Diggs and made the playoffs. What is the difference? Bears misjudged Trubisky getting better and Dallas choked in the playoffs with a terrible HC.

How do you know? He played with a bad shoulder most of last year. So far he has shown that he is capable of getting that team to the playoffs and he played the Chiefs better than Allen did in 2020. Allen is the far superior QB. Browns have some really good pieces on defense, the OL, and at RB. They are making decent decisions. Don't extend Mayfield and make him play outhis 5th year. If he plays well they can tag him like Dallas did with Dak. If he doesn't then they can let him walk. Bears made the playoffs and if not for a terrible kicker would have won their playoff game. Dallas made the playoffs too. Raiders drafted an average RB and a bust DT, and made the playoffs. Seems like a wash to me.

Who is to blame for our lack of Lombardis?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
Did you not watch the playoff game? Its the coaching. McDermott cost us a SB. Beane needs to add a few more pieces but in the end the only player that matters is Allen. -

SuperBowl XXV is 100% on coaching. Levy was out-coached by Parcells and Belichick. The following three SuperBowls the Bills were dominated by bigger faster defenses and o-lines. So I guess you lay the blame on Polian there. The roster was not good enough especially on the lines. The past two years we lost because the defense is a fraud. McDermotts defense has melted in every big game except Bills Ravens. He has been outcoached by Reid multiple times. Edmunds the leader of the fraud defense is a massive letdown. If someone can point out a single impact play he has made in the playoffs I would like to know. The Bills are competitive for one reason alone,Josh Allen. And the reason we did not win the SuperBowl this past season is Sean McDermott. -
A fifth or 6th round pick would cost about $600K so the savings is not that much. I would have cut him and just drafted a punter. If the salary is not guaranteed then I’m ok with keeping him on the roster for now.

Well that depends. With Jones the Bills probably win that game by 12 points and it doesn't come down to a last minute drive. That said if it was down to 13 seconds the DL has no impact on the outcome. It is purely on the back 8 as in you rush 3 and drop 8. Unless you are McDermott and defend against a TD when the opponent needs a FG.

That is not really an accurate statement on last year. Beane re-signed Milano, Williams and Wallace. The first two were unrestricted free agents and he added Sanders who was an upgrade over Brown. That was four significant moves that all played big roles in 2021. You can't bash Beane for sitting out FA when he re-signed his own free agents. Not upgrading TE#2 and the pass rush during the season are reasonable criticisms. Waiting to see how the rookies, Epenesa, Ford, and Sweeney would perform were all reasonable decisions. Not doing anything after several games is where Beane failed us.

Joe Marino's mock offseason for the Bills
Ethan in Cleveland replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm too lazy to look up how many of those FA signings are true free agents or how many were cuts. But my guess is signing that many guys eliminates the two comp picks they will get for Wallace and Trubisky. I'd rather see Williams on the team at RG even if that means his salary is unchanged. A pay cut or restructure would be a good outcome. No need to sign a punter in FA. Just draft one. As for the draft picks. No thanks. They need to go CB#2 in the first round. They don't need a late round RB. Without Klein they need to add a young LB in the drafts middle rounds. -
Saints game foreshadowed other games where the defense simply collapses under McDermott. I flew to see the Chsrgers game. Most miserable experience I have ever had at a Bills game. This game also foreshadowed McDermott's poor personnel choices. Starting Peterman on the road while Bills were in playoff contention was unconscionable. I left at halftime. I liked TT more than most on this board. I fell for his low turnover rate. If he could play the Dolphins every week he would be in the HOF...lol. Having made the playoffs and ending the drought, there was no way I was not going to that game. I flew with my son to Jacksonville. So disappointing. TT was awful. If be hits a wide open Clay(I think it was him) on an easy TD pass Bills take a lead and probably win. But really the whole team was bad and McD's defense collapses again allowing Bortles' running to win the game.

Wagner is a future HOF inductee that still has a few years of great football in him Someone will pay him

Thanks for posting. His foot speed looks good. Ran away from most LBs and even some DBs were having trouble catching him

Gronk, Howard, or a draft pick. Don't waste your cap on anyone else
