  1. That is what Wiki said. Ohio State Buckeye
  2. Trade....error. Brain fart. As others pointed out below he was a waiver wire pickup Could have been an all time great but as you pointed out he was UFA.
  3. While looking up draft classes, I stumbled upon some Bills history I did not know. How many knew in 1964 the Bills drafted both Carl Eller and Paul Warfield? Neither would sign with the Bills. Eller was drafted by Minnesota and Warfield by Cleveland and both chose NFL over AFL. Both of course would go on to be inducted into HOF. Eller is a top 20 DE of all time. I had no idea both these players could have been Bills.
  4. With Gabe Davis looking like a solid #2 WR and taken at #128, it got me thinking about best value picks in Bills history. Andre Reed in the 4th has to be #1 but their are some other interesting names. A quick scan of Bills draft history I found several good to great late round picks: Matt Milano 5th Stevie Johnson 7th round Jay Riemersma 7th Mark Maddox 9th Charles Rome 12th Marcus Patton 8th Carlton Bailey 9th Howard Ballard 11th Mark Pike 7th Who am I missing?
  5. No thanks. I would rather try to coax Sanders out of retirement. Just swap snaps from last year with Davis the #2 and Sanders your #4.
  6. Is Lawson one of those guys that never looks good in practice but is better in games? He could not beat out PED Murphy in practice but outplayed him in the real games. I think I had Lawson making the roster over Epenesa but that may be in jeopardy. Still think they should have kept Hughes. I'd trade Epenesa for Hughes right now. I had Moss making the final 53 and Sweeney not. It does seem odd but there is no doubt it went away. Much more emphasis on getting the distance and hang time correct than the direction. One would think it is easier to defend the punt return if they pin the ball to one side of the field.
  7. Agree. He is done. Had a slim chance to make the roster anyways. This gives him a year to get better.
  8. That sucks. I got my bench back up to 255 and then my elbow flared up. Doing ice and ibuprofen right now. And pinot noir...
  9. I'm dealing with same thing, but only for a month so far. Hurts most when I fully extend the arm, particularly noticable reaching for my wine glass....lol
  10. 100% agree. And to his credit, Josh never used youth excuse. He simply said I'm sorry and has done nothing but be a stand up guy ever since.
  11. Fair enough. I didn't like the Oliver selection at the time but he is getting better every year. I cant push back on average starter label, but by the end of this year I think he will be in a higher status, but no where near Donald.
  12. Fortunately my kids grew out of Edwards, Manuel, and Pozluszny.... They were young during the worst of the drought years. They were donated to the Goodwill
  13. No motivation. We loved Jim Kelly and cheered and wished him the best through his cancer, but by all reports he was not a faithful husband. I cheered for Biscuit and one of my fondest memories was his first game against Elway. He ended up being accused of sexual assault of a minor. Just a cautious reminder that our heroes can break our hearts.
  14. Agree. Baker Mayfield has funny commercials but I have not read anything one way or another on what he is like as a person. Agreed. Honestly he is the perfect QB for us to root for and we are the perfect fan base for him.
  15. And several with the n word https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.si.com/.amp/nfl/2018/04/26/nfl-draft-josh-allen-apologizes-tweets
  16. This is an interesting appeal. From what I read the appeal can only look at the evidence already presented, and that was only 5 cases even though there are at least 24 people that have come forward. Most people feel the suspension should be longer. If it is increased substantially then the NFLPA probably files suit to block it, even though it looks like the NFL is following the process laid out in the CBA. Hope he gets a full year.
  17. Thurman Thomas HOF signed jersey
  18. Josh seems like a great guy. But be careful of hero worship for people we really don't know. This is the same guy that tweeted at a young age "If it ain't white, it ain't right." To his credit he owned up to the offensive tweets. He has done nothing in Buffalo but be a model citizen and near perfect face of the franchise.
  19. I think Donald has already earned that distinction. If your all NFL team is a 4-3 defense then your starting DL would be Reggie White, Aaron Donald, Joe Greene, and Bruce Smith. Second team for me would be Deacon Jones, Randy White, Warren Sapp, and probably JJ Watt or Leroy Selmon.
  20. It's like comparing Superman to Batman. Donald is all world and Oliver is still great but he can't match the physical gifts Donald has.
  21. Hoping for the best. As long as it is not a bicep tear, even with surgery he probably is back before mid-season. Dislocated elbows or even a broken bone heal faster than torn muscle/tendon.
  22. Bills were the better team week 1 last year too, but still came out flat. It's a road non-conference game so it is a little less important than others to follow. Still it is national spotlight and a win on the road against SB Champs would be a huge boost to start a brutal first 6 weeks.
  23. I don't think nor hope they just use him exaclty as they did Hughes. He is too good rushing out of a 2 pt stance. However, for the most part he will be just like Hughes as the fourth DL in the nickel package, rushing the passer. That is why he is here and what he needs to do better than Hughes did. I would like to see them run some more 4-3 with Von as a stand up OLB with a combination of Rousseau, Lawson, and Basham rotating as the DEs. As for dropping back in coverage, yes he will do that from time to time. Every defense in the NFL has DL guys drop in coverage from time to time. McD and Frazier are no different. They drop DEs and DTs rarely so they can blitz other guys off the edge like Johnson and Poyer. What will be interesting to see is they lined up Edmunds as a 2 point outside rusher 1-3 plays a game last season, and let Klein or Milano play MLB. Will they still do that? Will they sit Milano and or Edmunds a few snaps a game to let Miller pass rush with a DE in front of him ( effectively forcing the opponent to block him with a TE or RB)? While McD and Frazier are conservative I dont think they are unimaginative. Most opponents and commentators talk about how the defense is difficult to read. My guess is they will experiment with several things and at the same time keep him fresh for the playoffs. They have solid depth on the DL, there is no reason to overuse him early. Let the young kids bang away on the run situations and bring in Miller on 3rd and long.
