  1. Only Crowder and I guess if they wanted to give up on Shakir in favor of someone else or another position.
  2. Agree. I would say of the players that may not make the team, Ford, Haack, and Epenesa have some trade value. Doubt any would net more than a conventional 7th round pick or perhaps a swap of picks. Epenesa and a 6th for a 5th. Something like that. I suppose Crowder may be on that list too. I still have him making the 53 but choosing how many and which WRs to keep is going to be interesting to watch.
  3. Shakir probably stubs a toe and finds the IR list.
  4. Doyle beating Epenesa is interesting. Either Doyle got better(doubtful) or Epenesa is as bad as we think(more likely). Epenesa for a conditional 7th rounder will probably happen in a couple weeks.
  5. Over who? Kumerow? Shakir? Good problem to have.
  6. Agree on Duke. They will go with Singletary, Moss, Cook, and Jones as your four RBs. Probably dress all four too. Disagree on Tavon. I think he was a sneaky good signing. He should be better than Stevenson in all aspects.
  7. As above probably just a nod to the fact he has been here already, but Ford on 2nd team is interesting. Same goes for Epenesa ahead of Lawson. I think anything goes for both of them. I can see scenarios where both make the team and scenarios where both are traded or cut.
  8. I wouldn't read much into it. They have Boettger as second team and he had an Achilles tear. No way will he be on the active roster day 1. I see him getting an injury settlement and parting ways
  9. They need more emphasis on the head shots to the QB and less emphasis on the below the knee contact. There are so many times the defender starts above the knee and ends up below the knee and it is called a penalty. If the QB has the ball any body part should be fair game. Why is it ok to tackle the RB by the ankle but not the QB? Makes no sense. Call late hits regardless of where they occur.
  10. Thanks for the info. I read a toe injury set him back his second year, but sounds like even year 1 was not that good. I loved Cribbs.
  11. Played here at Portland State University
  12. I went with Dallas because they have the best QB. I dont trust Hurts enough to win the division. I agree with Yolo though. Philadelphia has a better roster and McCarthy is terrible. Dallas has some nice e pieces on defense but their great o-line is no more. Dak is good enough to go 10-7 and that will probably be enough for the NFC East. Giants and Washington will be better but I cant see either team getting to 8 wins.
  13. Nice! Now a Spencer Brown sighting would be good to see next.
  14. 3 rushes for a total of 3 yards in 2021. Very short distance indeed. I agree they should be in less four and five WR sets. However I would do that with a single RB and two TEs with Knox and Howard. We are talking about the final 3 spots on the roster, so I'm not going to sweat it much. Like I said elsewhere I would have used his roster spot to keep an extra OL. I am steadfast in my belief McD overvalues special teams guys, but in Gilliam's defense he does more for the offense than Kumerow and Jones.
  15. My original point is I would not have Gilliam on the team at all. Therefore any cap space he took up could be used elsewhere as would the roster spot. I agree with you, that whatever cap space he does take up probably is not that significant.
  16. In theory you are correct. But no DC in the NFL gives a fart where Gilliam lines up. McDermott should care about the mess of an o-line they have right now more than his special teams.
  17. I know. I didn't have him on my final 53. I would use limited resources differently. I have more of an issue of the roster spot than I do the money.
  18. I know but he really doesn't do any of those things well. Can you recall a single great block he made last year? Sure he is better than Sweeney but that is not saying much. I would have used the cap space on a veteran CB and the roster spot for depth on the OL.
  19. I just don't see the value for the position. Nor do I see him being that good at FB to warrant anything but league minimum. Maybe we will see more this year. I would not carry a FB and would either use Moss or a backup TE at FB if it was needed. Like others said another overpay for special teams. I would have rather seen that money used on a veteran CB.
  20. WTF...useless position that he isn't even good at. Waste of precious cap space.
  21. Great thread Its Karlos Williams for me. His rookie year was not as good as Terry Miller's but his flame out was far more spectacular. Just read a little more about Miller. He finished 2nd in Heisman voting to Earl Campbell and this past January was elected into college football hall of fame.
  22. Very cool story. I don't have any outside of football interactions with Bills' players stories. But I have several with Ohio State players before they went into NFL and a great Jim Harbaugh in Amsterdam story! Full disclosure I thought about a poll but there were just too many names to list...
  23. I was born in 1970. I dont have much memory of the 1970's teams. My first real football memories are from the 1980 season. I was 10 so I didn't follow the off the field stuff for a while. My earliest memories of that kind of stuff was Tom Cousineau not signing with the Bills ( though I probably only learned about it when the trade in 1983 with Cleveland went down), Gary Anderson not making the team, and Cribbs leaving for the USFL - he and Butler were my favorite players then. I know some of the major highlights pre-1980 but somehow missed out on these future stars almost being Bills.
  24. Agree with the OP. Go get a veteran CB. McD has had White start every game until his injury. Those saying they can coach up a low round pick, that was true because they had an All-Pro on the other side. Signing a veteran allows them to put White on the PUP list and bring him back mid-season.
