  1. Maybe a year too early but I'm going to predict Harbaugh v Harbaugh in the AFC Championship. So I will pick Harbaugh in the SB.
  2. I somewhat understand where you are coming from listing center. My counter to that concern, is that Morse was never more than solidly above average. He was never great. He was never really bad either. I think you can easily replace above average with McGovern, Anderson, or the Georgia kid. As for o-line I think Torrence is going to be a star, but many players have sophomore slumps. Just hope it is not him.
  3. He was losing to the 3rd string Dolphins QB at home in the third quarter. The defense blew a 17-0 lead and gave up 24 pts to a decimated Dolphins offense. A Josh fumble accounted for the other 7 points allowed. Glass half full his defense held them to multiple FGs on short fields and got two INTs. One by in the dog-house Elam. Glass half empty his defense gave up 5 scoring drives and let a terrible QB almost win that game.
  4. I just asked if winning the division last year was easy? The poster said McD wins the division every year easily. How is that blinded by emotion?
  5. It may be an oversimplification but on the flip side I'd argue 25 of the current HCs could win the division and lose in the division round with Allen and this roster.
  6. Even those of us that wanted a HC change acknowledge McDermott is by all accounts a good human being. I don't like how he treated Diggs last off-season. But none of us have the whole story about Diggs. Other than that he has been a good leader. He's just not a good enough HC to win a SB. That's ok if TT is your QB and your goal is to make the playoffs. That's not good enough for a franchise with no SuperBowl wins, four SB appearances, and the best QB in franchise history. Perhaps you disagree, but for me and others only a SuperBowl win matters at this point. My opinion is well stated. What the McDermott supporters (apologists) will never commit to, is when is enough enough? How many years of playoff losses does he get? If he wins the division every year does that mean he keeps his job every year? When do you make a change? The McDermott supporters said last year just get KC in Buffalo. Well it still didn't matter. 3rd straight year they didn't get past the division round. So again I ask, when are you ready to move on?
  7. Both things can be true. McGovern was better but Torrence was very good too. Torrence was a beast in the run game but there were stretches he really struggled in pass protection. But for a rookie he was excellent. Really believe Torrence has a shot at being All-Pro in the next year or two. He will have some name recognition being a rookie that played every snap last year and people will be looking at him to take the next step.
  8. Would love to see VanPran be good enough to start at center and leave our other 4 spots intact. Hope he gets a legit chance to run with the starters in TC.
  9. In the next two years White(remainder of his dead cap), Miller, Dawkins, Epenesa, and Milano will be gone and their contracts mostly off the books. Bass may be gone too. I would let Rousseau walk barring a big improvement this year. Good player but not great. Let someone else overpay. I would extend Brown paying him around 10th overall. Cook is the hardest decision for me. He looks really talented. But in the end you can't pay top QB and top RB money. I might tag him to get one more year at a high cost but without the long term commitment. I would try to get Knox to extend at a cheaper rate. Bernard is so much better than I thought he would be. But he is still small and they can find a cheaper option in the draft. And that leaves Shakir. Oh this is tough too. In a perfect world he continues to blossom and you extend at a reasonable rate. If he is a 80+ catch slot guy try to work out a deal that is reasonable for both sides. However WR money is getting out of hand. He's probably another guy that they will have to let walk. Draft OT, Edge, Edge, WR, and LB with their first and second round picks the next two years.
  10. Pass rush from front 4. DE is the worst position group on the team right now. All that can change if Miller is even 80% of his prior self. If he is as bad as he was last year they should just cut him after the first 8 weeks of the season. Can anyone one the roster get double digit sacks???
  11. If you go by their all time prime regardless of when they played with the Bills, then... Owens Lofton Moulds Reed Butler Evans
  12. You can make an argument Burrow should be on the list as it was just a wrist injury. But I'd be fine if he was left off with an asterisk. The others don't belong on the list even if healthy. White and Miller came back very slow and no where near pre injury form. We still don't even know what injury Milano had. If he isnt even practicing yet it was way worse than just a broken bone.
  13. Rodgers doesn't belong. Two wrongs don't make a right
  14. The drop off in WR#1 is astounding. This board and Allen are going to miss Diggs on 3rd down. I agree with OP there is massive improvement in WR 3-5. So while I think Diggs will be missed terribly, the group overall might be good enough when you add in Cook, Kincaid, and Knox. Brady just needs to design it and Allen needs to execute.
  15. Taron is top 100. He's the best nickel in the league. You just can't include Milano as we have no idea how he will come back from injury. Before the injury he was top 100 and playing at an All-Pro level. We have a lot of guys that are just outside the top 100 - Dawkins, Cook, Oliver, Jones(top 3 1 tech DT), Douglas. Kincaid and Torrence both will be top 100 by the end of the year. Bernard might have a shot as well.
  16. Knox has burned me two years in a row. But he's one of my favorite players. Our WR group is a committee Kincaid 85 Knox 50
  17. Guardians baseball! Hope they can land a starting pitcher before trade deadline!
  18. I'm trying to have a more open mind when it comes to ST and roster utilization. I think what is driving more ST only roles on the roster is the limited practice time. I don't think they literally have enough practice time to teach a rookie LB the defense and special teams. That wasn't the case in the past. Now I don't believe the punt catchers and return guys need much practice time at all. It's not that hard a skill to master and it's more raw talent than teachable skill. Additionally, they have been doing it in college most likely. However whoever is the leader of the punt and punt coverage teams will need more practice time. These guys need to learn the blocking schemes, watch film of their opponent, and make sure guys are doing what they are supposed to do. As for the gunners, I don't think this requires much practice either. Certainly not much during the week. So in the end I am ok with a guy like Matakevich who is useless as a LB being on the roster if he is your captain on punt and punt return. The return guy should always be a back of the roster WR who can play if needed. The gunners should be a couple of corners that can play. Having a RB as a gunner who can't run or catch is terrible roster use. So in the end I can live with a Matakevich type guy. Maybe that is Spector this year who is a far more capable LB than Matakevich ever was. After that the gunners and return guys should be able to play WR and CB in a pinch. It's the perfect use for late round draft picks. And who knows maybe one of those guys turns into a Benford. As for the useless player this year, it will probably be Hollins. They will keep him and he will do nothing as a WR. I would keep Shorter over Hollins but I think with the contract they will keep Hollins and try to sneak Shorter on the PS.
  19. Awesome! I drove up from Columbus to that game as well. Bills lost. Lions ran a flea-flicker for a TD on the second play of the game. Cool to see Sanders run though.
  20. I have a few..I've posted some before First was flying my 10 and 9 year old sons on a red eye to Chicago from Portland to see the Bills Bears OT win. Second was attending Seahawks 49ers NFC Championship game Third was flying cross country to watch Bills destroy the Patriots in the second coldest Bills game. Last and the best was watching my son as a Freshman come from behind and win his team's 4x400 HS division championship!
  21. What did he do to hurt the team in Green Bay? He was paid more than Brady so he ate up a bit more cap space. That's all I recall. But just like you I'm a casual fan of the Packers and only followed from afar. He got some of his former teammates to join him in NYC. Never heard he wasn't a good teammate. Now don't get me wrong. The guy has a string of failed relationships from family to girlfriends and his conspiracy crap is grotesque. But commitment to winning doesn't seem to be one of his flaws.
  22. Lol, if Allen wins only one I think we'd still be happy!
