Ethan in Cleveland replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall
How about a shout out to Detroit! Way to turn around their season. Lots of good young talent on that team. -

Good to see a WR on another team drop a contested ball. That should have been a TD to Watson. Great throw. If Bills get home field I'm still sticking with my Bills Chargers AFC Championship prediction. -
Buffalo News analysis of Tremaine Edmunds this season
Ethan in Cleveland replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
I dont think most on here have much of an issue with his use in pass coverage. He's very good to great in zone. He's average to below average in man. Most people's issue with Edmunds is his ability to defend the run. He's truly awful. Yes he doesn't have many missed tackles because he is blocked so far out of the play. The other issue is his utter lack of developing any pass rush ability. Both he and Milano blitz up the middle from time to time and Edmunds rarely if ever makes a play. At this point I would franchise him and bring him back for another year. Have Oliver play on his fifth year option. Sign Poyer to a 3 year deal. Then I spend my early draft picks on offense. Ideally Bills win SB this year or next then you let some of these high priced defenders walk and retool the defense. -

Mac Jones is so bad. New England is screwed for at least another couple of years. -
We are everywhere! A testament to our passion for the Bills and a sad commentary on the economic plight of Western NY.

Disappointment - Yes very much so. Like it or not second round picks need to contribute early and often. He has not. Bust- Not yet. DL is a hard transition in the NFL. I think it is harder than CB. NFL Oline play is so much better than college. College DL just rush the passer and have little keys to learn. Also, Basham is too thick and too slow to be a 4-3 DE. He would be better as a 3-4 DE. At this point its more likely than not he is a bust but he will get one more year to improve from sure.

Which Mentality? Underdog or Champion
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Wizard's topic in The Stadium Wall
100% agree! The Bills have been the regular season SuperBowl for most teams. Fair enough but there is a reason Brady has 6 SuperBowls, Montana has 4, and Aikman 3. These guys were absolute assassins in the playoffs with very few mistakes. Allen played that way last season but so far this year not so much. I just hope last seasons end doesn't make him think he has to do it all on his own. -
Mitch Morse Clears Concussion Protocol
Ethan in Cleveland replied to babulator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Morse has played well. But in the one game sample size Bates was fine. The issue in Miami was they did not move Bates to C when Morse went out. Is Morse at C with Bates at G better than Bates at C with Ike/Q/VanRoten at G...yes I think so. Bates has been a bit of a disappointment at G. He's been ok but in retrospect I now wish Beane had not matched the Bears offer sheet. I advocated for keeping him then and I won't fault Beane for doing so. Had White not been injured my guess is he lets bates walk and drafts OT/OG. Oh well what is done is done. The key is not letting Van Roten anywhere near the center spot. -
Mitch Morse Clears Concussion Protocol
Ethan in Cleveland replied to babulator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Did we? Bills ran for over 200 yards with Bates in the pivot. Bates was solid at center. Morse is playing well but there was no drop off with Bates. -
Do we get Jamison Crowder back this season?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall
We all love Allen, but many of his mistakes are him trying to do too much. It's just that simple. He can be the greatest QB the Bills have ever had and still be making mistakes. These two things can both be true. He is leading the league in INTs and has had what maybe 6 dropped INTs this season. That doesn't happen by accident or a few tipped balls at the LOS. He has been reckless with the ball and in particular this year he has been in the red-zone repeatedly. When he is not, the Bills win with ease. -

I want calm Josh not hero ball sugar rush Josh. That's all that matters. -
Chris Simms says whoever Tre is covering will be open
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Tre could never run with the fastest guys in the league. He has looked as good as I expected him. I was really impressed when he pass defensed that quick out on third and short last week. It was great anticipation and awareness. That's his best play since returning. His worst play was probably that long completion that Fields hit to Jones on the first play after the Davis fumble. That ball should have been an INT. It was floated out there and hung in the air forever. White showed no explosion after tracking the ball. All that said, If I was Cinci I would test him deep. I don't think he can run with Chase and if the Bills leave him on an island that is dangerous. -
OLine/Unforced Error Review - All 22- Week 16 - Chicago
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Bocephuz's topic in The Stadium Wall
OP, can you explain why the 2nd INT was not an unforced error? Allen missed a wide open Cook and sailed the ball over his head to the LB. Just because Allen blamed the wind doesn't mean it was not an error. Agree with your assessment this week of Brown. He was solid again. Saffold is regressing terribly in pass blocking. He started the year ok but is now getting consistently beaten especially to his right side between the G-C gap and right into Allen's face. At least that is what I am seeing though I have spent more time watching Brown than Saffold. -
OLine/Unforced Error Review - All 22- Week 16 - Chicago
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Bocephuz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ok that never happened. They tried Ford at RT his rookie year and he was terrible. He was ultimately benched in favor of Nsekhe. The following year he was moved to Guard but got hurt and only played 7 games. They brought in Williams to play RT and he was great for one year then regressed terribly the second year as a BIll after signing a big off-season deal. Williams was moved to RG mid-season where he played reasonably well. -
Tyler Bass is the Bills' best pick of the 2020 draft
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
AJ has had 3 maybe 4 good games in his entire career. He rightfully is last man off the bench now. Lawson is outplaying him by far. I will say he had a decent game against the Bears after another non-existent game the week before. Is he better than Basham? Maybe but that is a really low bar. -
Tyler Bass is the Bills' best pick of the 2020 draft
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
He was never great in preseason. I would have kept him over Kumerow but that is the only guy he would have ever taken reps from. No way was he making the roster over Crowder who beat out McKenzie for the starting slot spot. He's 77th in YPC at 10.6 YPC which is more like a TE stats not an outside WR. -
Tyler Bass is the Bills' best pick of the 2020 draft
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bass has been solid. A starting CB is probably more valuable than a PK. Even the worst PKs make the majority of their kicks so you can argue his value above replacement isn't that much. Really not trying to take away from Bass as he is very good and probably ahs the chance to be with us the longest. However in terms of immediate impact, I would say Jackson being able to start last season and this has kept the Bills D competitive. Not sure why everyone has turned on Davis. He has nearly 800 yards as WR#2. Not long ago we would have been happy if WR#1 got 800 yards. He doesn't seem as focused as last year. I really didn't like how he did not fight for the PI in the end-zone last week. He has more drops than in the past but he still has some amazing sideline and contested catches - ie. Steelers game vs an All-Pro FS. So I guess I would say for me the order right now is, Jackson, Davis, and then Bass. But in 3 years time I can easily see Bass being the only guy left on the Bills' roster from this class. -
No proof but just seemed like this guy was more steroid than athlete. Probably a first ballot HOF inductee because before the injuries set in he was being compared to LT in terms of dominance on the defensive side of the ball.

Justin Fields makes me nervous.
Ethan in Cleveland replied to ChicagoRic's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cmon I'm a Josh homer but he had two brutal INTs. Against Cincinnati or KC that could cost the Bills the game. He needs to be better. -
Motor and Cook NFL Best RB tandem?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to RenoNVBillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Our RBs are so odd. They both have high YPC and for Singletary he has done that multiple seasons. That said, I don't trust either one of them to pick up a 3rd and 1, break a tackle, or run away from anyone. They both seem to have very good vision though. CJ Spiller had the worst vision of any RB I've ever watched in a Bills uniform but may have been as athletically talented as all but OJ. Cook and Singletary read blocks reasonably well and have that little sudden burst in the hole. Maybe Cook has the speed to break away from guys but we've only seen it on a few runs. -
Unreal. The one guy that probably needs to be observed more than any other and they miss it again.
