This could go down as the worst trade and contract in NFL history. They traded for someone who had not played football in over a year and handed him $230,000,000. This was after all of the details came out about his sexual predator nature. The first fully guaranteed contract in NFL history, and it was given to this guy. Unbelievable. He's played a total of 12 games the last two seasons to the tune of 14 TD's to go with 9 INT's, and they are stuck with him through the 2026 season. The Browns organization deserves what they get for rewarding this guy for degenerate behavior. Feel bad for the fans, but that's your boy Haslam.

Agree 100%. This is worse than than the Herschel Walker trade and the contract is as bad as any ever given out.

He was awful when healthy last year. Winston will be starting by week 8 or 9.

As I've mentioned before in posts,  I'm an airline pilot, and when I'm returning from international flying, approaching the customs desk( at certain airports) some camera somewhere is taking a picture of my face. Before I can say a word, and without pulling out any paperwork or passport, the agent knows my name, and what my flight number and departure airport were.  Big brother IS watching.

Exactly when going to London this year they asked me my purpose using my name before I handed them anything.

Which begs the question why can they do that at all the airports and get rid of the security lines or at least speed them up!!

Passport control is at least twice as fast as airport security.

They have… but it was 20 and 40 years ago.  I think the NFL wants bigger cities/warmer weather locations now

Indianapolis, Minnesota, and New Jersey have all hosted in the last 25 years as well. So that is one cold weather site every six years or so which feels about right.

I highly doubt Buffalo with a dome would get a SuperBowl.  But Cleveland would have a shot. Hotel situation is fairly bleak downtown though. No idea how the hotels compare to Detroit, Indy, and Minnesota.

Should just keep Cooper, extend him for another 2 years and pick a WR with the 2nd rounder.   You will end up with two wideouts for the price of one.

    Cleveland deserves everything it gets.

They just traded for Jeudy and gave him ridiculous contract a year after doing the same for Elijah Moore.

None of it matters as Watson is horrible. He is at best the 11th QB in the AFC and the worst QB in the division now that Steelers have Wilson. Only the Colts, Raiders, Denver, Titans, and Pats have worse situations. Best move they made all off season was signing Jameis Winston. He will probably be starting by week 8.

Pats allegedly were going to give Aiyuk 30mil per year and he still didn’t want to go there.

    damn

    No QB and unproven coach

  5. To my knowledge no decision has been made yet. Local officials have been working with the Browns for a couple years now on a decision. The current stadium is garbage and needs millions in repairs. Its location is awful with no good parking options.

One of the biggest issues with the proposed dome location is the proximity to the airport.

Buffalo's decision to not build a dome is one of the worst wastes of taxpayers money in municipal history.

Good point. My opinion was based primarily on Josh’s sub-par performance in last year’s opener.

That's fair. I think the Jets are in his head. He played just as poorly against the Bronocs in the middle of the season.

He's human just like they all are. We all know he goes sugar rush Josh at times. A few times a year it lasts all game. That said he walked off the field with the lead or tied in those games.

    I hate that worry-wart mentality.
It’s like these over-protective parents we have now who are afraid to let their kids walk to the school bus stop or climb a tree.
Josh might get hurt. Or…maybe he’ll be ready for the opener this time. It’s football, not duck duck goose.

    Ancient thinking

Covid year proved you don't need preseason

Major college football plays with no preseason. Yes many of the games are against powder puffs but there will be many top 25 teams playing each other week 1.

Why? Do you believe that Josh doesn't need to sharpen his skills and the work on timing and communication with his center and receivers?

Or, are you just concerned about risking injury?

Injury risk and there is no need to work at preseason speed and with preseason play calls. Zero upside and what happens if some guy rolls up on Allen's ankle even while just handing the ball off.

Hell if I'm Allen I would refuse to play in the preseason. Why take the risk when he sees the dollars others QBs are getting and he is looking at a pay raise.

If you can't beat the Cardinals at home even with no preseason action forcthexstarters the season is doomed anyways. They have the perfect first regular season game to work out any kinks with timing.

  9. TE is an interesting camp story.

Also have to remember Kincaid is a hybrid WR/TE.

Davidson is getting some nice buzz.

Maybe this is the year you get rid of Gilliam and keep 4 TE. Bills like to run out of heavy sets a lot. Or at least they did with an extra OT lined up as TE. Will have to see what Brady likes.  Someone probably knows, but I wonder if Gilliam snaps went up or down when Brady took over.

All of these TEs can line up as a FB in a pinch.  Honestly at the goal line they would be fine lining up a back up guard or Oliver at FB.

My guess is McD sticks with what he knows and keeps Gilliam and Morris while Davidson is cut.

What I don’t understand is, what was the point of signing him to a three-year contract versus the typical one-year deals most players sign?

The Bills coaches have to know that Gable was a long term project and likely not going to make the roster this season.  But if they cut him and re-sign him to the PS it’s a one-year deal again.

What does it matter?  It's not guaranteed money and like you said once you cut him he can sign with anyone he wants to.

He’s only here because McDermott loves the wrasslers.

Are there actual examples guys transitioning from CB to S in the NFL? Sure there are cases, but it's not something that happens often, and yet it's brought up constantly.

It makes no sense. You don't take a very good CB and turn him into a S. And Rasul is not going to transition to S in a contract year. It's not happening.

Look no further than your Bills team. Both Hyde and Poyer were drafted as CBs.

Rod Woodson and Ronnie Lott are the two most obvious. Both had HOF careers at both positions. Woodson was a better CB and Lott a better safety.

Yeah but in George Wilson’s case he went from like 7th on the depth chart as a WR to safety, way different conversation

True that.  Same for Logan Thomas who went from 4th sting QB to starting TE.

The counter of course is Rod Woodson went from HOF CB to a HOF safety.  Aeneas Williams made a ProBowl as a safety.

What do you think 6 and 7 seed playoff teams beat?  They aren't beating the elites.

16 game season, he won 9.  You can cherry pick every single stat you want but they still won 9 games with Taylor.

Not to mention, even the good teams mostly beat bad teams.  Last year the Chiefs beat the Raiders, Broncos, Vikings, Patriots, Jets...also lost the Broncos and Raiders.

He underachieved with Taylor?  Taylor since leaving Buffalo has 14 TD's to 11 INT's with only about 6 yards per pass attempt.

He lost his job quickly in Cleveland lol.

If he underachieved with Taylor, why isn't Taylor a consistent starter then?

Last seeded Falcons and Alex Smith led Chiefs lol.  The way you word things is comical.

Falcons were in the Super Bowl the year before and were a playoff team in 2017.  But you're going to word it "Last seeded".

The Alex Smith led Chiefs won the division that year lol.

Let me ask you this, did Reid underachieve with Alex Smith?

Yep...football isn't a team game.  Not at all.

You and everyone knows it's not the same team game it was. It really is a QB and 52 other guys. No QB and the other 52 really don't matter.
