  1. Save the throwbacks for game 2 of the playoffs
  2. Tag Edmunds and let him walk after 2023. Can't afford this kind of money for a guy that can't even defend the run. I've been all over the map with Edmunds. He started the year really well but has regressed badly again. I keep him on the tag for one more year while they shore up the OL, WR, and S spots this off-season. If they can get Wagner on the cheap I'd be fine if Edmunds walked this offseason. But I would not let Edmunds walk only to have to use a first round pick in 2023 draft on a MLB.
  3. I know of no front office that impedes assistants getting promoted. Do you have any examples? Even Belichick doesn't block guys. Generally one would think it attracts more talent knowing that guys were able to progress in their career. If you know of any examples it would be interesting to read about. Regardless Beane couldn't stop them anyways except for a lateral move.
  4. We do runs slants. They are just called as RPOs. Diggs and Davis have caught them. What is missing is Beasley caught many of them in the past but they are not getting that production from the current group of slot WRs.
  5. Stat fits the narrative that Josh is trying to make plays downfield most of the time. Even if he needs to get 2 yards he may be trying to get more. Would I like to see him check it down a bit more often? Yes. Not every check down results in a first down but some do. Also any positive yards helps field position and if in FG range makes the kick a bit easier. Also it might set up the possibility of a short 4th down attempt. We all love Allen's ability to throw the intermediate length pass. I beleive Allen, Marino, and Rodgers are best in NFL history at the 10-25 yard pass. Its a function of his arm strength and willingness and ability to extend plays. But as we have all seen there are some occasions where a check down is the safer and better play.
  6. He said he has a "pretty good idea" how it will turn out. Then said coach speak about being prepared for whoever plays. Perhaps reading too much into it but it seemed an odd way to answer the question.
  7. McD press conference he hinted at he already knew what the QB situation was going to be. My guess is in the inner circles of the coaches they know Tua is done for the year.
  8. Another terrible championship game. They should move to the playoff next year or the committee should seriously vote who they think are they top 4 teams regardless of record. No way TCU was a Top 4 team. Alabama, LSU, and a host of other teams have more talent. TCU is a four or more loss team in the SEC. Ohio State probably a 2 or 3 loss team. This has become a joke.
  9. For those that remember, they did that with Kevin Everett. Brady then scored 150 points in the game.
  10. report doesn't say which thumb...lol
  11. No football activity on a Monday this many days into the protocol means he is in rough shape. If he was going to play this weekend they would have put him in the non-contact jersey by now. It doesn't matter who they play at QB. Bills are going to destroy Miami. Go ahead and play him with a broken thumb. Then force two fumbles.
  12. Nope. Its all a matter of who is up next. Allen got paid slightly less than Mahomes because Mahomes had a ring already. Burrow has been to a SuperBowl. He will get a massive deal.
  13. Lol. You know even if the win the SuperBowl they will move on from players. Happens every year. 49ers moved on from Montana to Young. Bills will move on from Singletary to Cook. Most assuredly Bills will move on from Saffold. The big decision is Edmunds.
  14. Well that would have been true. Watt would have destroyed Brown even on a good ankle. They have a couple decent WRs. I will take Miami without Tua over Pittsburgh with Watt.
  15. Weren't we #1 in DVOA last year? Then KC ripped the defense apart. This year no Hyde. White is back but a lesser version of himself.
  16. Staley needs to go. That roster should have won the AFC West this year. If they lose first round he needs to go.
  17. Basham is useless as a DE. He should only get some reps as the fourth or fifth DT. Epenesa and Basham picks looking as bad or worse than Ford.
  18. All in all not too bad. 9 home games. Only one trip out west. Wouldn't be surprised at all to see Bills Chargers in LA game 1 just like last year. KC game will almost assuredly be in prime time and is not that long of a trip. Lots of team with questionable QB situations. Sure we get Mahomes, Burrow, and Herbert but after that I don't see any that area a worry. Philadelphia is more of a complete team that is better with Hurts but he is not the entire reason they have been good. Dak is in the next tier but we get him at home. Wonder which game will be flexed to Detroit next year?
  19. I'm sure KC thinks they are getting screwed too.
  20. Cincinnati won on the road last year. Good teams win on the road to get to the SuperBowl all the time. If Bills don't make it this year, it will be the injury riddled defense that keeps Bills out of the SuperBowl not the playoff seeding.
  21. 49ers over Seattle Dallas over Bucs Bills over Dolphins Chargers over Jags Bengals over Ravens Giants over Vikings If Lamar plays and is somewhat healthy the Ravens may have a shot. They played them close and they were missing a ton of guys.
  22. Joe Wood DC in Cleveland fired at 6:30 AM. Media here are saying he is just a scapegoat for a dysfunctional organization. They are still piling on Stefanski but he may yet survive.
