  1. Tag Edmunds, sign Martin and Lawson. Let the rest go. That stupid 3rd round pick from last year can take Matakevich's spot on special teams. I'd take Poyer back on a team friendly deal. My guess is he will find the free agent market not as good as he nad his wife hope. He is better off staying in Buffalo on a fair deal for both.
  2. It is but you get Miller back and,Rousseau is,still developing. Like McD said you can't have allpros at every spot and you can't pay everyone. Oliver is already under contract. No signing bonus or longer term commitment to bring in someone else. I hated the pick then and I still don't think i would commit to him long term. But that is not the decision to be made. The decision is what to do with him for 2023. That's easy. You keep him and let him play out his 5th yr option.
  3. Too many holes to fill elsewhere. Keep Oliver on the 5th year option just like you did Edmunds. He is relatively cheap and no long term cap issues. Getting rid of him is the wrong solution for the wrong problem. Oline, WR, safety, and depending on what they do with Edmunds MLB, and edge rusher are the holes. Can't make more.
  4. Still won't stop the thread from reaching 5 pages
  5. The Bills will make the playoffs. I have little doubt barring an injury to Allen. If they do not, then both Beane and McD will be gone again barring injury to Allen. Heck even if Allen is hurt and they miss the playoffs, they both might still lose their jobs.
  6. We are a passing team best set up to play in a dome. We haven't been good in the snow since Thurman Thomas was here.
  7. Why shouldn't they change? We've been to SuperBowls before. That's not good enough. We want a championship. Companies change leaders all the time. Some are good at turning things around, some are good at making them great, and some are needed to tear it down. Beane and McD were good at tearing everything down and starting over. They built something decent. But these are not the guys to win us a championship. They lucked into an elite talent and the protect him with a terrible oline. I beleive we are stuck with both McD and Beane for 2023. No SuperBowl next year and they should both be gone.
  8. Oliver gets hurt and plays hurt all the time because he is too small for the NFL. Stop drafting undersized guys and draft real men. The third round LB from last year would not even make the Georgia cheer squad.
  9. One more. He is not going anywhere this year. And sadly it would probably take missing the playoffs next season to move on from him. Personally I,would be fine with a different leader now. But it won't happen. Anything less than a SB appearance next year is a failure.
  10. It's McDermott's defense. The scheme is fine. Its the lack of any talent on the DL. Stupid Oliver draft pick. When does undersized DT ever work out well? Horrible DE draft choices. They need to dump Epenesa and Basham and find a couple of veterans. No more draft picks.
  11. Its not pessimism. Its realism. Two years in a row fail to make the AFC Championship. What was the, story? Just get home field and it will be ok. They just got destroyed at home. Yes they had injuries. Did Cincinnati not have injuries? Did KC not trade away their best WR? The reality is we are further from a Championship today than we were two years ago. That is an indictment on McDermott and Beane.
  12. Many on here simply won't admit the defense has been a fraud all along. They have built up great stats playing atrocious QBs. When they face any team that has a decent oline they get pushed around. The defense has had epic collapses dating back to the first year McD was here giving up 200 yards rushing to the Saints. There have been many other games. The reality is the defense is soft. They play undersized DEs and DTs with the thought they will generate a pass rush with four and the scheme fits will stop the run. But it just isn't working. The defense relies on the opponent making a mistake or getting a penalty. That works against the bad teams and the bad QBs. It won't and hasn't worked against the good QBs. The general scheme is really no different than others play. We just don't have the DL to pull it off. Beane needs to be a man and admit his mistakes. He needs to cut Epenesa and Basham and sign some decent vets to pair with Miller and Rousseau. The draft capital must go to the offense.
  13. Apparently except the Bills who have McDermott who is the white Dick Jauron.
  14. This team has too many holes in key spots but plenty of depth on the bottom of the roster. Trade down in the first round and get an extra 2nd and 3rd day picks. Get 3 OL and WR by the end of the fourth round. The rest of the draft picks won't even make the roster.
  15. This will sound awful but it is a business. Hopefully these last two weeks will drive down the market for his services and we can get him back on a decent 2 or 3 year deal. He was playing hurt. Safeties are just not that valued by most teams especially old ones. Best case scenario he is back in Buffalo on a reasonable contract. More likely he is gone.
  16. Yup. That was 13 seconds all over again.
  17. Your expectations are too low.
  18. Diggs is about winning not just stats. Its ok. He showed more heart than anyone on the defense did. Maybe that's what this team needs.
  19. Not entirely true. He was careless with the football all year. Led the league in red zone turnovers. But the oline got worse as the season went along and Josh only got worse
  20. Honestly this is an excellent point. Beane overvalues his talent assessment. He pisses away draft picks to move up and draft guys and then refuses to use draft picks on proven veterans.
  21. Dungy 2.0 of course refers to his inability to win a SB with Tampa and the fact Gruden won the SB first year with the same players. Dungy failed for several years with Manning too. It took Manning refusing to leave the field on 4th down when Dungy was going to punt to finally make the SB, where they beat one of the worst SB teams in NFL history.
  22. His offense put a short mediocre armed QB into the HOF and won a SuperBowl. McD can't even get out of the division round. He's available. It won't happen but it would be an upgrade.
  23. I've been banned before for being contrary and to the herd mentality. I can take it.
  24. He almost won two SuperBowls with Colin Kapernick. He was one holding call away from winning the trophy. He's done far more than McD has ever done.
  25. Not by Beane. That is what most people think. It would take Pegula himself to do it.
