  1. Yes very similar complaints which makes sense since Dorsey is just calling plays in a Daboll designed offense. The poster asked what Dorsey needed to improve on. I listed several things. Do you disagree? I was very encouraged last season when they signed Howard and it looked like they were going to retool the offense. Then that didn't happen. If Dorsey and McD can't figure out how to use Knox and Kincaid on the field together then they will struggle. Honestly with all the new pieces I would not be surprised if they struggle early. Hopefully they get better during the season. They regressed during the season last year. Of course some of that was Allen injury and the oline getting worse throughout the year. On paper this should be a top 3 offense and be able to score via run, short pass, and big play.
  2. This has to be one of Cowherd's dumbest least informed takes ever. Did Tyrod make Shady less effective? Did Wilson make Beast mode less effective? Montana and Young were both running QBs at times during their careers and the 49ers also had good rushing attacks. Historically you could make an opposite argument. Shula could be never get a run game going with Marino. Same thing with Fouts in San Diego.
  3. I know but he was still fired and at the time he was a top 4 coach in NFL history with Lombardi, Shula, and Noll.
  4. Develop a consistent rushing attack. Not rely on Allen to bail him out Decrease Allen's turnovers Convert more 3rd and short downs Play better in the red zone Replace Allen with an average QB and you would get below average results. Allen is the only reason any of them have jobs. He's the franchise savior and driver of all the success on offense.
  5. I guess anything is possible. Tom Landry was fired. Lombardi coached the Redskins before his death. Given his age and all that he has accomplished it is most likely Belichick retires on his own terms and at a time of his choosing
  6. Knox has top 5 talent. Team just lacks the commitment to use him. Hopefully Dorsey evolves.
  7. We did. He was in full cardiac arrest. Which while it is not brain death yet, it is not compatible with life. The Bills and Bengals training staffs are absolute heroes!!!! Science, education, preparation, and training saved Hamlin's life in the those critical few seconds that make the difference between full neurologic recovery or possibly never waking up.
  8. Because the media knows they don't have a star QB. All the great QBs are in the AFC now except Dak. The media will beat the drum of these mathcups between Allen, Rodgers, Burrow, Mahommes, Herbert, Lawrence, and even Wilson not to mention a few other great offenses like Miami. I think one narrative that will be interesting to see is how these ultra competitive divisions like AFC East, West, and even the North to some degree play out. There is no easy out in any of those divisions. Browns or Steelets might be the worst teams and they both have talent. Denver has a new HC and should be more competitive than they were under the moron they had last year. Pats may have the worst QB situation but they still have BB.
  9. I agree Eli is not a HOF talent but a two time SB winning QB with several highlight throws in the SuperBowl will get him in. He's probably a virtual lock. Maybe not forts ballot but doubt he waits more than one year.
  10. No non kicker special teams guy deserves HOF. But if someone does it is not Tasker. He may have been the first but like it or not Matthew Slater was best.
  11. The three most comparable players would have to be Gale Sayers, Tony Boselli, and Terrell Davis. All great talents at their time but without longevity. Luck was as impactfull as all of these players. I would argue he is a better candidate than guys like Lynn Swann or some other mediocre players that have made the HOF. That said I would not vote him in. I wouldn't have voted in Boselli or Davis either. I wouldn't have voted in Marv Levy or a number of other marginal players. One thing that will be interesting to see. Boselli and Davis retired because they couldn't play anymore. Luck simply quit. Yes he was injured a lot but he was healthy when he quit on his team. I think that will be a big negative narrative behind closed doors when they discuss him.
  12. This is a reasonable take. Before the cardiac arrest Hamlin was the better player. This coaching staff kept Johnson over Marlowe in the past so not sure how high on Marlowe they are.
  13. Hamlin is safety #4. He will make the team unless he has some residual lung injury that limits his abilities.
  14. Why he is a multi murderer that should be rotting in jail? Have sympathy for people that deserve it.
  15. Browns start 3-7. Stefanski is first HC fired along with GM Andrew Berry after humiliating home loss to Steelers.
  16. Nobody thinks Burrow is that much better than Allen if at all. they all think however he has better wide receiver group then Allen does.
  17. If you look back objectively the only team the Bills were better than was the 1990 Giants. The AFC was soft. Bills D was small. Bills were a great regular season AFC team during that time. But they probably were the 4th or 5th best team in any given year with Dallas, Giants, 49ers, and Wahington all better teams. Heck even the Saints were good then too. Two plays can sum up the 1990 Bills. Bruce Smith just missing the strip sack and Kenneth Davis getting stood up at the goal line by Ken Norton Jr. Bills were unlucky(and outcoached) in 1990 and too small in the other 3.
  18. Odd that Von is on the list coming off ACL. He could be top 100 by season end but too soon to tell. Milano made First team All-Pro. There is no way he should not be in the top 100. By year end we could be talking about Elam, Rousseau, and Cook all being worthy of top 100.
  19. Young probably doesn't care. He hasn't look interested in doing TV work since he started. Glad Kellerman is gone. He gives me anxiety just watching him. So annoying. Could care less about the rest, but kind of surprised Kolber and Rose are gone. I dont watch much basketball coverage but Jalen Rose always seemed to make sense while dumb ass Stephen A just yells at the screen.
  20. Elam was playing well down the stretch. McD should have installed him as day 1 starter. Elam should be very good. The question at CB is White. MLB is an unmitigated disaster. Quite amazing that they will have an actual downgrade at MLB. I never thought Edmunds made much of an impact but never thought of him as a liability. Now they have smurfs at MLB. I don't agree with the thought process from Beane on MLB. At least Williams seems to have a nose for the ball. As for RB, I think Cook does everything Singletary did and Harris is a solid backup. I like the RB moves. Floyd is a pass rush specialist not a LB. His job is solely to let Miller heal for the first 6 weeks. Then he becomes a solid depth guy for the playoffs. He keeps Epenesa off the field when the game matters. The interior of the DL is sneaky better. Hopefully Oliver lives up to the contract. I would never have signed him long term. Hate the move. For me biggest question mark is OT. Dawkins regressed and Brown was terrible. Brown still has potential. Beane seems to believe in him more than anyone. Beane's track record on OL is pretty dismal though. If Doyle is on the 53 that is problematic. I would not be shocked if Snell is starting at RT by week 8 if Brown disappoints again. I think this is Dawkins last year. He did not get a contract restructure for a reason. They will draft his replacement next year and free up cap space by letting Dawkins go.
  21. Nope. Not in McDs defense. He rarely allows his top DB to shadow another teams star WR. In this league having 4 quality starter level CBs is a true asset. Look at the injuries last year alone to Benford and Jackson. White missed time even before the ACL. Some have advocated trading Jackson or one of the other guys. I think that would be crazy. Keep all 4 and if White doesn't return to form move on from him after this year.
  22. Omg. This thread... He had one of the best deep balls in the league. He was limited in lots of areas but that's the one part of his passing game that was excellent.
  23. That's not true. It's a common narrative but it's not how he played. It's true he didn't take chances but he moved around behind the LOS quite a bit looking to make throws downfield. He was far too risk averse but he was not quick to leave the pocket. He had several designed runs per game.
  24. Led the team to two #1 rushing seasons and one top 5 and one top 10 scoring offense. If Rex had not destroyed the defense TT and Shady would have made the playoffs earlier.
