Raiders @ Bills - 2ND HALF GAME THREAD
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've given Bernard a lot of crap. But he played a very good game today. -

On Monday everyone remember that one of the targets to Davis was uncatchable. That's franchise QB play and throw!!!! -
Bills vs Raiders 1st half thread

Don't understand why Josh is not understand center on that 4th down. Even if you want to throw it is better to play action from under center. Really poor job Dorsey -

Week 2 Bills vs Raiders Home Opener!
Ethan in Cleveland replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
As with all things in life a little context helps. Newcam you lack any nuance in your post. 4 targets for a rookie TE is actually a decent amount. TE's take a while to develop. Now I've said all off-season he is a pass catcher not a TE. Even there, 4 targets for a rookie pass catcher on a team with a superstar WR and solid other options is pretty good. So yes there is something to be encouraged about that performance. For reference, Kelce missed his entire rookie year. In his first game of the second year he caught 3 of 5 targets for 49 yards. Kittle first game 5 rec on 6 targets for 27 yards. Gronk 1 rec on 1 target for 1 yard. Hockenson is the outlier catching 6 balls for 131 yards and TD. The next two games though he would combine for 2 catches for 8 yards. So 4-4 for 26 in his first game is just fine. -
What will we be saying at around 4 pm on Sunday?

First of seven in a row! Now bench Bernard and start playing Kirksey -
Allen designed running and scrambling…
Ethan in Cleveland replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have no problem with designed QB runs. They are highly effective. No issue if they call them. Many times they result in a TD. Just be smart at the end of any run be it by design or a scramble. Get down or go out of bounds. Learn to live and come back next down. Josh has had two elbow injuries and both were in the pocket. Not running is not the correct answer. Running smart and not stupid is the right answer. -
Can we talk about Gabe Davis's performance?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Fair criticism of the route but someone else in another thread said Knox and Kincaid ran it virtually the same way. So maybe coaching. Maybe it just needs to be a ball that goes to the sideline. You saw the fumble as I did as well. He was looking to his right. So either he was not prepared or the snap was early. They won't let us know. Regardless he collected himself but failed to secure the ball well enough. He has got to learn to give up on certain plays and just move to the next down. A 1 yard gain is no different than a 1 yard loss on first down. -
The biggest non play Monday night
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Billever76's topic in The Stadium Wall
100% agree!!!!! McD messed up the TO situation. If Jets get another first down game is over no matter when you use the timeouts. So use them before 2 min warning giving you more time to score. -

Ethan in Cleveland replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
What were the two missed targets to Davis? If one was the INT how is that his fault? The safety caught it before it got to him. It was a bad throw that should have been closer to the sideline. I dont recall the other missed target. Certainly don't recall him dropping a pass. -

Week 2 Bills vs Raiders Home Opener!
Ethan in Cleveland replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills sort of did it in the past. They had two back to back west coast games and stayed on the west coast instead of traveling back. Don't recall them leaving early for a west coast game though. The track record of west coast teams traveling east and playing at 1pm is not in their favor. Interesting because I thought Vegas was only two hours behind, whereas West Virginia is several decades behind.... -
O'Cyrus Torrence.....Bills best O-lineman??
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree. I should have said weeks. Knowing this staff they will give him time. At least they have another option. Not the case for either OT spot -
Bills are a great team that faced a great defense with bad Josh Allen. He will play better. Bills will be fine. Pass rush looked good. Corners looked good. Oline was spotty but there were signs of better things to come with Torrence. Diggs is a star. Kincaid looks the part of a weapon. McD is still a liability. Deep playoff run is still my prediction

Ethan in Cleveland replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
He was very good and Bills won't face a front 7 even close to this until they see the Jets again at home. Agree but he was coming off knee injury. Another poor week and they might give Edwards a shot at starting. -
Was Josh Playing Hero Ball or Was i Imagining Things ?/
Ethan in Cleveland replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall
Jets D is in his head. Move on to this week. He will be fine. He has a bad game or two or three every year and bounces back. -
Fair enough. But most people on here think he will be replaced by a PS guy in a matter of a few weeks. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

What will happen with Josh over the next month?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
10 TD passes 2 rushing TDs 2 INT 0 fumbles 1150 yards passing. 4 wins 0 Losses -
Well first of all he plays middle line backer not outside. And second just look at them. Milano has NFL arms and Bernard does not.
-
Too early to dismiss but not too early to be very worried. He is the smallest MLB in the league. He was moslty terrible and late to makingp lays, but he did make a couple tackles near the LOS. I praised that during the game. It just looks like he is going to have to guess a lot or have incredible instincts to avoid getting blocked out of the play. He doesn't have the size to take on even average tight ends let alone o-line. Now Edmunds had zero instincts so any improvement there would be welcome. I

Rewatching the Game.....Enough Blame to Go Around, BUT....
Ethan in Cleveland replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall
Op 1. White - completely agree. Jury is still out if he can be an elite corner but he was fine in coverage yesterday. 2. Bernard - completely disagree. He was absolutely awful 3. Dorsey - none of us know. We don't know the play call, we don't know the reads, and we don't know what Allen is supposed to do with the ball. 4. Allen - he sucked. All three INTs were indefensible. No elite QB makes those throws. He missed Cook on a sure TD with a poorly thrown ball. Missed Knox low in OT. He is 90% of the reason they lost. I said it last year and people flamed me but he is careless and reckless with the ball and it is getting worse not better. Is that Allen or is that coaching, again none of us know. But he has to play much better if they have any hope. I think he will. I think he will dominate the next 7 weeks and he will be the talk of the league again - in a good way. -
Do You Still "TRUST THE PROCESS"?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to HIT BY SPIKES's topic in The Stadium Wall
He lost me when he started Peterman on the road in a playoff chase. I've been an outspoken critic ever since and routinely beaten up on this board. He is a nice man who did a great job with adversity last year. He stole our best chance at a SuperBowl away from us with 13 seconds I don't believe in his roster management and special teams emphasis. Gilliam useless. Matakevich useless. So fitting to lose with Matakevich lying on the ground at the goal line looking useless. Bernard is the MLB equivalent of Peterman. I think our teams are mentally weak. He has now messed up our franchise QB and only hope for a SB. And we are stuck with him. He isn't going anywhere. It would take a 3-14 season and total player revolt to get rid of him now. That's not going to happen. So like I said before the season started our only hope is Allen. Hopefully he turns it around.
