The Bills biggest problem on offense remains unchanged
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
You do understand when Brown rides a guy past Allen and Allen steps up in the pocket that is good pass blocking. I don't think you understand oline blocking nor the level of competition he has been facing. I don’t recall a single play where Brown was "blown up" in the last two weeks First week yes there were several. If you can point them out happy to look. -
The Bills biggest problem on offense remains unchanged
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just don't agree with the OP. Brown has been good enough against good competition. He's been better than Dawkins. The problems on offense is the inability to execute a screen play, the inability to get more downfield throws to Knox and Kincaid, and the failure of the two new WRs to make any impact. Why this team can't execute a screen is beyond me. Not getting Kincaid and Knox deep down the seams is on Dorsey. The true slot WR spot should go to Shakir. No he isn't a gadget guy but he is a solid WR that finds ways to get open. He is a slightly less quick Beasley 2.0.- 177 replies

Eating crow right with you on Bernard. He is everything Edmunds was not. Let's hope he can hold up to the pounding.

I get what you are saying. Those plays and those players took your breath away at times. It seems like we are in the worst possible situation. Either let it be a viable play and a part of the game or eliminate it all together Going to 4 min of commercial to then have a KO our of the endzone nad then 2 more min of commercials is terrible fan experience at home or in the stadium.

I really don't understand why the NFL wants to eliminate kick returns. But then again I really don't care. I don't want a bunch of bottom of the roster players determining the outcome of a game. The Jets loss was sealed by a bunch of scrubs who couldn't make a tackle. It would have been far better if they had forced a fair catch and our defense was allowed to make a play.

Have you been on this message board for long? Those of us that criticized Edmunds for years were routinely told how we didn't understand his role on the defense, how he called the defense, and how he took away so many throws in the middle. We were routinely dismissed when we pointed out his tackles 8 yards down field and his lack of big plays.

I was an outspoken Edmunds critic for years and I have no reason to defend him. That said the Bears organization now looks like the worst in NFL. Their DC just quit after an FBI raid of his home. Maybe there is more to this story

When Coordinators get hired to be a Head Coach

Are this numbers important for sunday matchup ?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Italian Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
No. We have played garbage QBs and clueless coaches. That all changes Sunday. Tua is playing at an elite level and McDaniel looks the part of offensive guru so far. Bills D will have all it can handle. Feels like a 38- 35 game whoever has the ball last type of game. Then again when you think that sometimes it is a defensive struggle. -
Yards after catch anomaly
Ethan in Cleveland replied to quinnearlysghost88's topic in The Stadium Wall
We are 4th in the league with 290 yards of YAC. I was shocked by this number because it seems like much less. Diggs is 18th with 71 yards. So maybe it is perception and not reality. -
Clock Management at end of 1st Half
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Mark Vader's topic in The Stadium Wall
They wasted a out 15-20 seconds going a bit too slow after one of the completions. They slow played it so they used up all the clock. I think they could have run that one play maybe 10 sec earlier giving themselves a little more time incase they got a negative play or a first down by penalty gov8ng them a few more downs to try and get a TD. Otherwise it was fine. They had all three TOs and were in control of the clock. -
OL has been solid. Seems like they are not getting much YAC but the stats say they are 4th best in the league. Still have not found a way to get Knox and Kincaid the ball Harty and Sherfield are useless Can't run a screen at all of any kind. If I am Dorsey I go two WR, Knox, Kincaid, and a RB. Then go no huddle. From this group they can run anything they want and if Miami stays in nickel they should be able to run the ball and go play action. I would also like to see more Shakir in the slot when they go 4 and 5 WR sets.

Leonard Floyd....great pickup, Beane!!
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
Loved the signing. He is way more than just a stop gap until Von comes back. He is a viable threat as a 3rd pass rusher in the rotation. Will be interesting to see who sits when Von comes back. I have been a Lawson fan and an AJE critic. I'd go with Lawson as my fourth DE. Neither he nor AJE offer much inside pass rush. -

I criticized Bernard and his size relentlessly. So far he is making me look silly ( no hard feat). Hope he keeps making plays. He is so much more instinctual as a player compared to Edmunds. Especially when he blitzes. Edmunds would run right at the guard. Bernard is taking angles and shooting through gaps. I still worry about his size if some team commits to running the ball. But so far he has been a revelation.

Serious topic: it’s time to trade for DJ Moore
Ethan in Cleveland replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've seen enough of Harty and Sheffield. It's time to let Shakir play the slot. He has that feel of Beasely 2.0. Josh trusts him. It's time he gets more reps. These other two have done nothing. -
McD much better D coordinator than Frazier
Ethan in Cleveland replied to TwistofFate's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it's a bit early. Frazier's defenses padded their stats against garbage QBs. So far Bills D has nor faced a capable QB. Real test comes this week.
