NFL Source - Elam Benched Tonight
Ethan in Cleveland replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in The Stadium Wall
If this was for disciplinary reasons, the punishment had better fit the crime. Just makes no sense with Benford on IR. -
I agree but my point was having him for even a chance to play in 2,3, or 4 weeks is better than whatever stiff takes his roster spot for those 4 weeks.
-
This makes no sense. What is the precious roster spot this opens up in the next four weeks that will make a difference??? None. He might be ready to play in a week or two and now he has to sit. McD and Beane are playing the long game but they are forgetting that another couple division losses and they may not even make the playoffs. Win tonight and next week and this move will feel better. Lose either of the next two and the pressure on this team and the coaching staff goes through the roof.

Dawkins out tomorrow against the Pats
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Spiderweb's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why are the Bills the only team that can't throw quick passes to mitigate the opponents pass rush??? -
OLine/Unforced Error All 22 Review - Lions 2022
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Bocephuz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just to be clear you want to replace Bates at guard? Did you post during the off-season that Beane should have let him walk to the Bears? I think most of us on here agreed with Beane to match the Bears offer. Morse had a good year last season and Dawkins was playing at an All-Pro level late in the season. They replaced Feliciano and Ford with Saffold. Most of us were worried about Brown at RT but though Q was a good depth signing. I wanted the Chiefs center instead of Basham and I wanted an OT instead of Cook this past draft. That would have been much better use of draft picks but you can't say Beane didn't try to address the o-line this past off-season. -
Detroit yes though they are getting better. They will have a top 5 pick from the Rams plus their own first round pick next year. Houston has a playoff win over the Bills a few years ago. Then their HC/GM made the dumbest moves/trades in the history of the NFL followed by their QB turning out to be a sexual predator. They will likely have two picks in the top 15 including the first overall.

Von hopes to be back vs the Jets, source seems legit
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
The meniscus is really interesting. It has virtually no blood supply. So it rarely if ever heals on its own. The medial literature shows that their is no difference between surgery and conservative therapy for a meniscus tear. That is in the general public though. With professional athletes however, it seems quite routine to have surgery and remove the torn material especially in the NBA. The meniscus is really interesting. It has virtually no blood supply. Impending Bills Roster Shenanigans: You be the GM
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Beck Water's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd take Crowder over Kumerow. And I'd cut Lewis instead of Rhodes. I can live with Ike on the roster. He has starter experience and I thought he was decent in the run game that will be more important as the weather gets worse. -
Impending Bills Roster Shenanigans: You be the GM
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Beck Water's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just cut Stevenson. He is terrible and Hines is returning kicks. Boettger was never very good but maybe is an upgrade over VanRotten. I take Crowder back and let Kumetow walk. When Bemford can play I'd bring him back and cut Lewis or Marlowe to open a roster spot -
Beane went all in when signed Miller in the offseason. He should have made that trade last year. We would be defending SB Champions. Last season he didn't do enough. This year he did.

Snap was fine. Josh dropped it. He's our franchise but he cost us the game. Literally any other outcome would have been better including giving up the safety.

Kyler Murray: How did the Cardinals fall for it?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm sure there is offset language in the contract that if he is cut and signed somewhere else, the Cardinals are only on the hook for the balance. Also I am not sure about this but since it is guaranteed money in the future not a signing bonus I doubt all the money is payable when he would be cut. But I don't know about that. Signing bonus money that is prorated over the length of the contract hits the cap all oat once as dead money if the player is cut. Not so sure if he has guaranteed future earnings. Ie. if he has $40M guaranteed over each of the next three seasons and they cut him after this year, I can't imagine the Cardinals have to cut him a $120M check. They would still pay him out over that time. Maybe I am wrong. Also possible they negotiate some buyout. This is new territory for the NFL. In baseball the trading trading can agree to pay part of the salary so that the new team can get the player and not have to pay full price. In NBA it is the opposite, any trade has to have equal dollar value so you can;t just dump salary without taking something in return. -
It was nowhere near this part of the season. It happened in week 14 of a 16 game schedule. He missed two games only one of which mattered then came back after the bye week for the first playoff game. He stayed on the sidelines after the injury and there is a video of him celebrating and hopping up and then wincing in pain when he landed back down.

OT: Patriots no longer get the calls
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Psst... they never got the calls before. They were just the better team. Get over it. -
Is the 17-game schedule diminishing NFL play
Ethan in Cleveland replied to SBbeliever's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well in fairness even the announcers were exasperated with the number of injury timeouts. Dallas Giants game was awful to watch between the injuries and penalties. -
Cook still looks lost out there It should be Singletary and Hines and let Cook sit and learn
-
It's a good example of why you don't waste your time-outs. That drive doesn't happen without the ability to use the middle of the field and call TO. I'd rather they get a delay of game penalty and lose 5 yards than burn a time-out in the second half.
