Let's see... He's 5th in YPC ahead of Robinson and Taylor. So I guess that is an argument. Gibbs had 43 more carries than Cook. Every other player you listed above Cook had 100 more carries than Cook did. Cook did more with less opportunity. He only had one fumble (none lost). That's tied with Robinson and better than every other RB you have listed ahead of him. Cook had more yards receiving than Henry and just about the same as Barkley. All that said your rankings are quite good for the top 5. Let's spin it another way, how much money do you think Robinson, Gibbs, are going to get paid? When their deals are done, my guess is they will be above Henry and Barkley. Jacobs just got 4 yrs for $48M after only rushing for 800 yards and less then 4 YPC the year before. Cook may not be worth $15M per year, but he is worth $13-14M for this team and this SuperBowl window.

Hard to imagine having a better situation for your QB than having an elite RB that can score from anywhere on the field with a top 5 OL. Cook is a great player. Spend money on great players not below average or rarely used players like Epenesa, Samuel, and Gilliam. Cook is far better than the 8th best RB and Davis and Johnson are probably not in the top 25. I will concede that we don't know if Davis will get better and so far he looks like a faster version of Moss. So that is good. But the talent difference between Cook and the backups is significant.

2009 the TO season -Terrel Owens
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
100% agree. Makes you question the entire process. How a group of people could not vote him in the first time is insane. If not for Andy Reid and McNabb figuratively and literally puking away the SuperBowl he would have won MVP with one of the great SuperBowl performances of all time. -
Thank you for sharing. Wonder when Josh becomes famous enough that he can do the commercials without the shoulder pads and jersey. Better yet, how about SNL appearance co-hosting with his wife!!

Preseason - Around the League
Ethan in Cleveland replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ok you have good points. No dispute about what happened in the draft and the possibe reasons he fell. Again I don't know the guy but being in Cleveland all the reports are is that he is doing everything asked of him. All his press conferences are professional and his interaction with the media has been basically flawless. Not complaining about his reps or the depth chart. Of course it could all be a well polished act. And yes I do dislike many athletes. I hate PED cheats and I am fully aware that steroids are used by way more guys than the ones that get caught. So I am a bit foolish sounding there. But I couldn't stand PED Murphy and hope both the current cheats are cut. I hate any player with domestic violence history. If Allen was accused of what Watson did I would stop watching the Bills until he was gone. I don't really mind diva WRs to be honest. And I really do believe there is a racial bias against black WRs who "can't control themselves" and "passionate and fiery" white QBs. Let me ask you and please be honest. What did you think of Jim Kelly? Now be honest. You said you dont like cocky arrogant self centered guys. So let's hear it, what did you think of Kelly? Was he not all those ? -
I chose Palmer because this was Beane's big FA move for the offense. He paid a decent amount of money for a guy with potential and next gen stats but hasn't produced yet. He chose him over trying to acquire more proven talent. I picked him because if he and the offense struggle there will be lots on consternation in Bills land. For the record I liked the move and the Moore signing. Both guys may just need opportunities to succeed. All that said too, it is going to be everybody eats 2.0 almost assuredly. There is not a dominant player but there are several very good options in the pass game between the WR, TE, and RBs. In a perfect scenario the targets Hollins got last year moslty go to a dominant Kincaid. Give Josh an all world TE and he will be MVP again. What is that saying, you can't whip a dead horse? You can only complain so much before its just background noise. Much like me complaining about carrying a FB on a team that runs the QB in almost all short yardage situations.

Palmer White Honorable mentions for Bosa, Coleman, and Bishop
-
AFC was the far weaker conference and the Bills only had a realistic shot to compete against the Giants. Kelly, Talley, and Levy cost us that Championship. McDermott had a top 3 QB with a top 3 WR an all world OLB, and the best safety duo in the league and can't even make it to the SuperBowl. Two home playoff losses. Is this really even an argument? Josh still has some prime years left but let's face it his game is not like Brady or Manning or Brees. He takes and gives out a lot of bodily punishment. He may not play late into his 30s. Thats why you mortgage the future now to win now. Parsons is not leaving Dallas. Pay Cook and give up draft picks for Hendrickson.

Bring back Douglas and Cooper?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
At this point I can't say you are wrong. I supported that trade and the Kelvin Benjamin trade at the time. Neither worked out but in the moment I thought Beane made good moves. No idea what the issue is with Cooper. Maybe he is just done, but he had a 200 yard receiving just game 18 months ago. -
Bring back Douglas and Cooper?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cooper did not announce retirement. Its possible he doesn't want to play any longer. Offense was better when he was on the team. Hopefully its a moot point and Samuel is healthy. I liked the projected top 5 of Palmer, Moore, Samuel, Coleman, and Shakir. I'm just worried as we have not heard much from Palmer and Samuel is hurt again. -
So it should be clear we won’t get there rushing 4

You can't blitz the great QBs repeatedly. They kill you more often than not. You need to sprinkle them in like Spags did to Josh on the final play last year. McD actually does send linebackers, corners, and safeties not too infrequently. The problem is partially the scheme but let's face it it has mostly been the players. Rousseau is at best solid but inconsistent. Did he make a single play in the AFC Championship game? Miller and AJE were terrible. Beane has crapped the bed repeatedly on DL in the draft and FA. Nothing is going to change. Just have to hope Bosa can stay healthy, maybe the PED cheat contributes down the stretch, and either of them are better than Miller was. And hope one of the rookies can make a difference. -
Bring back Douglas and Cooper?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
Lol. Digging up washed veterans. Umm what do you think White is? -
Both Samuel and Hairston are hurt. Douglas is better than any back-up CB on the team now and for all we know is probably better than White. Samuel was injured all last year. Coleman looks better but so far we have not seen Palmer do much and Moore regressed when the pads went on. Cooper made plays last year. He played with a bad wrist injury. Sure seemed like the offense was better when he was on the team. He made some nice difficult catches in the a few games but disappeared in the playoffs. Maybe give it another week to see where Samuel and Hairston are in their recovery and hope that White looks better next week. Flame away...

Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-season game 1
Ethan in Cleveland replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was forced to watch PED Murphy start as one of the worst DE in the league for three years. Im not interested in watching another PED cheat for three years. It was a mistake for to sign him. He should have pulled the deal. But you are probably correct in your assessment -

Yikes -
Agree its preseason, but I didn't know you had to game plan tackling? Thought that was a skill they should have learned in college.

Didn't watch the game but by all descriptions so far Jackson is AJE 2.0. Any other GM in the league and this board would go nuts if they signed one let alone two PED guys. If the rookies can do anything hope they both get cut before they come off suspension. -
Should have signed Gilmore or Alexander instead.

Cut the waste first...get rid of AJE, Gilliam, Samuel, and make Knox take a huge pay cut. -

You met him? How do you know? Every interview he has had he says the right things. Work hard. Take my reps. Study. Get better each day. Everything you wpuld expect a rookie to say. Sure their were reports of bad interviews and maybe he is a jerk, but no one really knows. Lol... I hit 90 every day on I90 in Cleveland! But then again I am a brat...not entitled, I earned my way to being a brat...lol!
