  1. He's the only guy that showed up with any intensity. He is not a me guy. He is a winner and a competitor. Diggs is not the problem. It is the coaching. He knows it. The players know it. They knew they were being outcoached and they just ran out of gas with all the crap they dealt with.
  2. He did but that was to leave for Denver and Wilson. It won't happen but if the Bills decided to move on from McDermott I'm guessing Harbaugh would leave to coach with Allen. I'd prefer Lincoln Riley at USC to be honest but he just got there.
  3. Add a dynamic WR, Davis plays better, Knox gets more touches, upgrade the LG spot, Miller stays healthy, Hyde comes back and plays well, Elam settles in at CB#2, and they find a decent replacement for Edmunds. Or Get rid of McDermott and bring in Jim Harbaugh. Harbaugh and Allen would win multiple Lombardi's
  4. Knox is 5 inches taller than Shakir. No idea what you mean better at high point of the football?? Knox catch radius is far greater than Shakir. Go watch Bills first TD in playoff game versus Pats.
  5. I didn't say who has best team. Also they went 1-1 last year if you recall.
  6. Jets just had two rookies named DROY and OROY. Their DL is great. I'd take Moseley over Edmunds. Dawkins and Morse are probably the best two OL of both teams but after that the rest are not that great. Knox is probably the best TE. Jets are younger at some key positions as well. Cap space is interesting. Despite Wilson on a rookie deal they don't have much cap to work with. That may make a move for a veteran QB hard to do.
  7. Barber and Zach Thomas do not belong but Hester does. Never once did I watch Barber play and think HOF. Hester is the best there ever was at his position.
  8. There has always been something rotten about this guy. He was never liked in the locker room in Seattle. Obviously they were fine moving on from him.
  9. He's gross and not even any good at his job. Never understood why he got hired
  10. It's McD's defense. It's McD's staff. It's McD's team. It's McD's draft. Beane is McD's GM. Notice how all these coaches say the "it starts with me" when they talk about accountability. But notice how it really doesn't.
  11. Yes and if Cleveland or NY Jets take Allen, then Beane would have taken another QB. And most likely Beane would be out of a job by now. A roster this deep and this expensive needs quality over quantity. They should be trading out of the first round and getting an extra pick this year or next. And they should be giving away 6th and 7th round picks for higher picks the following year. Any street FA is just as good as 6th or 7th round pick. Beane needs to hit on those 2nd through 4th round guys if he wants continued success now. The last 5 or 6 guys on the roster can be replaced by anyone on the cheap.
  12. Epenesa sucks. Coaching isn't going to help him. Basham probably sucks too but I am willing to give him another year.
  13. Oh for god sake that would be worse than Jake Fromm. He will be out of football in 18 months
  14. David is the least of the issues on offense. He is a very cheap#2 WR. They should draft a WR in round 1 or 2 for sure, but Davis isn't going anywhere. Drops can be corrected.
  15. What's your point OP? That McDermott will be on this list and he will be in good company? Most of those coaches were fired at some point for not winning. Some more than once like Schottenheimer with Cleveland, KC, and San Diego, and Reeves also three times with Denver, Atlanta, and NY Giants. Let's let Buffalo be the first team McD gets fired from, we bring in a winner, and he can build perrenial playoff contenders/losers for some other franchise. Yeah well not telling Kelly to stop throwing and just give the ball to Thurman is the dumbest thing Marv ever did and cost us a championship. Nice guy but I never thought he belonged in the HOF.
  16. Eagles 49ers rematch for the Thursday season opener. Book it. Its a no-brainer great start to the season.
  17. We play a 4 down lineman alignment with nickel almost exclusively. Even 3-4 teams go with 4 DL when they play nickel. And when reams only rush 3 and drop 8 in very long yard to gain situations they aren't using a NT in that 3 DL pass rush. So no. A true NT is about as useless as a FB in modern NFL. Almost no college team plays with a NT so it would take quite a bit of time to develop. Oliver is not big enough to play a 3-4 DE but he could rush from the outside most likely. Lawson could maybe play a 3-4 DE. But Rousseau is strictly a 4-3 DE so you would be sacrificing one of the better young players on defense. So the answer is no. Bad idea. Its perfectly fine to rush 3 and drop 8 a couple times a game but the base defense should never be a 3-4.
  18. My guess is he gets a 1 yr prove it deal somewhere. He has the YPC to want to get paid, but his tape says he is replaceable by just about any street free agent.
  19. And during that year McDermott started Nathan Peterman on the road and played for a tie in OT with the playoffs still a possibility. I would not hold that season up as an example of his great coaching.
  20. Not sure what the point is. Reid was a failure who choked on the biggest stage as his QB puked on the field. Philadelphia moved on and won a SB. Reid moved on and won a SB. It has no bearing on Buffalo or McDermott.
  21. Ok. Not saying you are wrong. Its a reasonable take. But then how do you feel about the Packers and Cowboys? This board loves to rip on these teams that are SB favorites only to fall short. When does Allen become Dak Prescott on this board? We are now two years removed from even a Championship game appearance. Is that really sustained success? I guess if you think Division Championships are success. And look I get it only one team wins the whole thing. A few plays go differently last season and the Bengals win the SB and you are correct the Rams look terrible. But that didn't happen.
  22. McDermott is displaying servant leadership in that instance. It is leadership 101 and fits with his Toyota management system. A servant leader always praises those below them and deflects criticism from them when it does not. McDermott is a fine person and he has good leadership qualities. He's just not a good enough coach to be beat the best. Both statements can be true without any malice.
  23. 9 paragraphs and I agree with most of it Could have summed it up with McDermott is not good enough. Its his defense, it's his drafting of defensive players, and it is his fault we aren't good enough. We are wasting the best QB in franchise history on a coach and scheme that fails/chokes in the biggest moments.
  24. What a moron. Montana is still in the argument for best ever. If he played in this era he would be devastating. Elway is far too high on the list. Mahommes is a great QB but he simply doesn't have the career numbers to be included in this group yet. Its too much speculation what his future will look like. What happens to him if Reid retires? Mahommes may one day be #2 but not yet. I'm fine with Marino over Favre Manning, and Breese as well. What he did in his era was incredible. My top 10 guy that never gets enough love is Steve Young. He doesn't have the career totals because of how long he sat, but he was a great QB. Far better than guys like Bradshaw Aikman, and just as good as Elway and Favre. Lastly my dark horse guy is Staubach. He doesn't get the recognition he deserves. I would put him ahead of Bradshaw, Dawson, Griese, Tarkenton or any other guy from his era.
