  1. Of course trading up and taking Allen was the most impactful. But I'd argue the decision on Edmunds will have repercussions for years. There are so many options. Sign him long term and spread out the cap hit to a player that at best has had an inconsistent impact since entering the NFL. Even spreading out the can hit, it will still commit massive resources to the two linebackers. Tag and force him to play under the tag. Tag and trade. Simply let him walk. This next decision may ultimately make or break Beane's career. The window to tag a player has already opened and a decision must be made by March 7th. Should be an interesting week ahead.
  2. Stevie Johnson vs Darrelle Revis Doyle won't make the roster. He was awful before the ACL. He might not even make it out of OTAs
  3. No state income tax just means they raise revenue in a different way. Property, sales tax etc. NFL players pay tax on money where it is earned. So when/if he plays in NY and NJ with the Dolphins he's still paying tax on those earnings.
  4. To be fair to Beane, and I rarely am, the O-line looked really good the last 6 weeks of 2022. Singletary was running well and they were scoring at will. Dawkins was playing the best football of his career. McDermott took too long to start Bates. Beane matched an offer sheet for Bates that almost everyone on here agreed with. Most thought Q was a good depth signing. Four things happened. 1. Dawkins regressed 2. Beane didn't draft any young talent 3. Brown didn't get better and maybe got worse 4. Saffold after a couple decent games really sucked. I think the board was pretty mixed on his signing.
  5. He's cheap and might yet get better. I think he makes the roster. No way he can play OG. He might actually be better at C than G. They need to draft OT early. Best case scenario Brown gets better and the new OT plays OG for a year. If Brown is serviceable at RT. Then the new OT slides into Dawkins spot in 2024. If Brown doesn't get better he is gone and they will draft OT high again in 2024
  6. You are missing the point. By signing Wagner you rid yourself of Edmunds. Edmunds you tag and trade. You get Wagner who is an upgrade at LB, you avoid a long term deal with Edmunds, and you probably net a first and a 3rd round pick for Edmunds. It's win, win, win! And win the SuperBowl!
  7. Any list like this must have OJ 2003 yards. I would nominate Bryce Paup 1995, 17.5 sacks and Defense POY to add to the list.
  8. No. Gabe and a rookie is the way to go with Diggs. Crowder and Shakir for wr 4 and 5. I'd rather keep an extra linemen and Hines and go with 5 WR.
  9. Of course this is not universally true. Every situation is different. Jets traded Adams, Seahawks traded Wilson. Minn traded Diggs and it worked out just fine for them. No way they should trade Diggs. If Diggs wants out, it is a further indictment of McDermott and Beane's inability to win in the playoffs.
  10. Get rid of Edmunds at all costs. They can't tie up that much money on a player who makes no plays. Tag and trade would be best but even if they just let him walk for a comp pick it's addition by subtraction. I don't care one way or another on Poyer. 8 games into 2022 I said bring him back. But he was awful down the stretch. I'd rather go forward with Hyde and Benford or White at the other safety spot. The defenses made one play in the SuperBowl that mattered and there was one awful punt. Other than that the entire story of the SuperBowl and for that matter both Conference Championships was about the respective offenses. Give Allen and O-line and another WR. Give McD and Dorsey one more year. SuperBowl or bust. No SuperBowl you need to cut bait and find someone that can win it all.
  11. The only analytics I need is zero SuperBowl wins. This regime and this board overvalues the antiquated thought that special teams matter. #1 special teams unit and they lost in the divisional round at home. Beane got a franchise kicker. Nice job. After that I would concede one roster spot for special teams. Everyone else should be a player that can actually play his position and be cheap rookie or UDFA. And go and look at the stats. The Bills were 4th worst in opponent KO ret yards. So despite the money spent they still sucked at it. Bills got #1 unit becuase they were #1 or 2 in opponent FG and XP made. Which has almost zero to do with the Bills unit and all to do with the opponent missing kicks.
  12. Tag Edmunds and then trade straight up for Hopkins Then give a 3rd for Quenton Nelson OT in the first. DE or LB in the second 4th a safety 5th a C/G 6th and 7th trade away for 5 and 6 in 2024. Sign two UDFA LBs, two CBs, and one QB.
  13. Hmm I'm all for getting rid of McDermott but I wouldn't replace him with Oliver Luck or Andrew Luck. Which other Luck HC were you thinking of?
  14. What major bump? He played better for five games. Otherwise same lack of instincts and lack of impact plays. WC Game against a JV Miami offense and we were losing interest third quarter. He will never be a difference maker. If there was no cap of course you keep him. He's not awful. But there is a cap and he is not worth the investment. In October I was almost convinced to keep him. But watching another collapse by this fraud defense in the playoffs has solidified my resolve. Let Edmunds go and give McDermott one more year with all resources going to the offense. If they fail again, blow it all up.
  15. His presence did nothing to get to the SuperBowl. Happy to see him go. Defense was non existent in the SuperBowl. All resources should go to the offense.
  16. They won't move on from McDermott so we will just revisit this question next January. Hell if the Jets get Rodgers we may be talking about it in December.
  17. Good bye. He's a fraud. Lacks the instincts to play the game at a high level. He had maybe four five solid games this season. Otherwise he was nothing special. Did he make a single play in the Bengals game? I will take the cap relief, the third round comp pick, and a cheap veteran to replace him.
  18. I know he was playing injured and without Hyde, but Poyer was really bad in coverage down the stretch. Its time to blow up this fraud defense. Let Poyer and Edmunds walk. Probably nets you a 3rd and a 5th in comp picks. Get Allen an o-line and another WR. Though Beane probably screws the comp pick up like he did losing out on a 3rd for Gilmore. Agreed Edmunds should be the first one shown the door
  19. Someone is moving to safety. Probably Benford this year. That gives another year to see if White can fully recover. If not then maybe he replaces Hyde in 2024. Hate how this staff dealt with Elam. He should have been a day 1 starter to learn on the job. If he's a bust then Beane has been just an absolute failure with multiple drafts.
  20. Wow do you actually think Hodgins is better than Davis? 17.4 YPC compared to 10.5. One is on the verge of elite the other is pedestrian. Hodgins doesn't make the roster of half the NFL teams or more. Davis is in line for a big pay day as some team's legit #2. Yes Davis had drop issues but he made a bunch of difficult catches and amazing plays.
  21. Actually to the credit of this board, I would say the majority felt Dorsey was one of the biggest if not biggest question mark going into the season. I thought Beane had done enough with the OL by bringing back Bates and signing Saffold. But Brown and Dawkins both regressed and after a few good games Saffold was terrible. Every backup except Q was gross. They will all be gone. Beane needs to draft at least 3 OL - an OT, a C/G, and another OT that can play G, in the first 5 rounds maybe even in the first 4. I am fine with their philosophy of being able to play multiple spots. Yes Davis had a lot of drops but his numbers improved over 2021 and his numbers for a #2 are good enough. The failings are not getting Knox enough targets, and finding a consistent move the chains type guy underneath. I would still draft a WR in the first two rounds next year. They will not be able to afford Davis and they need to start getting younger at WR.
  22. Hodgins never flashed in any training camp. Where does this stuff come from? He is a bottom tier prospect that caught a few passes for a NY Giants team that has one of the worst WR groups in the NFL. He has no speed but decent size and decent hands. He would not make the roster of most NFL teams. He is a guy that will float from PS to PS with maybe some call-ups do to injuries. Beane and McD make their share of mistakes, Hodgins is not one of them.
  23. Nope. His shine wore off. He had the benefit of doubt now we just have doubts. If he is smart he goes all in on offense. Three oline and 2 WR. Throw in one safety in the middle rounds.
